A scrimmage is a practice game, yeah?
Full quote over 2 tweets:
Garcia hasn’t hit the floor since his horrific exercise ball accident back on Oct. 9. He buries a long two to cut lead to 92-91, then…
..argues vehemently with Kings asst. Mario Elie that his foot wasn’t on the line. Yeah, he’s back.
and another:
Garcia gets subbed out and appears to be done for the day after a short run. He gets a round of applause from his teammates.
Sounds like he just played a few minutes to get his feet wet. My guess is that he’ll be playing before the end of January and there’s a good chance he’ll be back around the same time as Kevin, in a week or two.

Gortat....
Noc = 7.5 (5.625 (-125%))
Gortat = (5.854) or (2.927 BYC)
JJ Redick = 2,839,408
Total = 5,766,408 vs. 5,625,000 = NBA compliance.
Kings incoming salary = 8,693,408
Kings outgoing salary = 7,500,000
Kings room under the cap = 4,114,143 (easily absorbs the + 1,193,408 in salary difference)
Deal works even with BYC.
Why does Orlando do this? 2.8 million in salary/luxury savings this season. Noc also fits SVG system perfectly as a multi-position swing with range and as Gortat’s salary goes up, Noc’s goes down.
FYI- Deal also works with Anthony Johnson/Foyle or Barnes/Foyle instead of Reddick.

And is also good enough to play so that Howard gets some rest. The Magic have the best Center in the league and the best backup as well in my opinion.

Plus Gortat is unhappy...
and nobody like’s a 7 foot tall angry Polish dude walking the halls. Noc can play the PF and shoot like a SF- he is a very good fit when you consider all the injury problems that Lewis has had.
Deal might also work with Ryan Anderson involved which I would love to see happen. Kings would probably have to give up a 2nd rounder but Noc is still considered a pretty high quality player around the league so I think Orlando might go for it.

If Noc went to Orlando
It would be to play PF, pretty much exclusively. I think they’d love him because he can help stretch the floor more. Its why the Magic don’t use Bass much (who I’d love to get from them). If we could somehow trade Bass for Noc, I’d love it, but the salaries don’t work.

Potential fly in the ointment
A while ago, Magic GM Otis Smith fired one of those “shots across the bow,” metnioning that the Kings were trying to acquire Hedo but all that the Kings were offering was crap. I’m not sure how long GP’s memory is when it comes to these types of things, but Smith strikes me as the kind of guy that says “my guys are great and your guys suck.” He and SVG were really made for each other. My view is that making a deal with Orlando won’t be done easily.

I think so too.
Petrie wanted SVG a few years ago because they have a similar philosophy regarding multi-positional players who can shoot. Orlando has a ton of “Petrie type” players like Lewis, Hedo(past tense), Anderson, Pietrus and bruisers that every team could use like Howard, Gortat and Bass.
The Magic have a great blend of players. A championship quality team. But I think they are a better team with Noc v. Gortat because he is an upgrade over Anderson (today) and Barnes- two guys who may have to play serious minutes in case of injury.
Gortat is a luxury and was only retained to get value in the future. He will be especially burdensome if he plays few minutes all season and Howard continues to stay healthy because bigs who average 3.0 and 3.0 aren’t worth 6-7 mill a year on the bench. Fran Vasquez may also be an option in the future for Orlando which again would add too much $$ and size for the type of game SVG runs.
No law when it comes to me.

Noc is a double digit scorer in this league who plays above average defense. Match this with his declining value contract and I think the Kings can get some decent value out of him. I also like the Noc/K-9 combo pack valued at 16.2 mill +/- 3.3 million. A 6 man and an EC, what a deal.
