Was out to dinner. Looks like I got home for the good stuff.
Spencer played exceptionally well, and I like the way they used JT, Hawes and Brockman in a nice rotation way where they all got good minutes.
And after last night, I loved the way we handled the ball in the fourth quarter.

Yeah, you did
The first half was ugly. What did we have 7 1st Q TOs and 1 assist? Ended up with 12 assists(not good) and 16 TOs(not good either, but 9 for the last 3 Qs is good).

Pretty much everything. But he rebounded the hell out of the ball

He didn’t have the length to get them in. He also took one wide open jumper that barely missed and led to a Casspi O-Board.

It's simple
If they cover Tyreke one on one, he should drive and create a shot. When they double, he should pass. He did that well in the fourth quarter tonight.

Tyreke Evans jumper
When it was going like it was tonight, the man is absolutely unguardable. I think the fact that you can see his jumper already improving shows that he’ll eventually become a good jump shooter in the NBA. Most bad shooters don’t really like to take jump shots. Tyreke isn’t afraid. He knows what it can do to his game.

Love me some PW
Frustrated with the officiating and perhaps his team’s losing ways the past two weeks, Kings coach Paul Westphal was given a technical late in the first half. He promptly sat on the scorer’s table, mimicking the same position of Denver coach George Karl.
“I’m acting like George, why don’t you treat me like George,” said Westphal, who remained in that same position nearly a minute after the first half ended.

On the last play
Pretty close to a foul on Tyreke, but the ref said the shooter (Chauncey?) kicked out his leg. We’re pretty lucky neither that one or the JT-Nene tangle went against us.

They didn’t really talk about the final play in the post-game stuff I watched, but if I remember correctly the shooter (apparently JR Smith?) caught the ball, pivoted, and then threw up the shot. Which would mean that since only 0.7 seconds were left, the time probably expired before he threw it up. That’s why I figured they didn’t call a foul. There was some level of contact, but without a good replay I couldn’t tell what really happened…
There was no replay on the home feed
because let’s be honest, Tyreke fouled the hell out of him. But, its nice, for once, they didn’t call it on us.

Let me sit on my high horse
& say I never had a problem with Tyreke having the ball in his hands at the end of games kobe doesn’t make every single big play especially not in his rookie year. Tyreke will mess up more but that happens in basketball.

Personal record with minutes (38) and rebounds (12) tonight. JT played 21 minutes, Hawes 26, Thomas 5 and a small baller got six minutes.

That dude could knock someone out with his chin
"Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive." Proverbs 17:28
Imagine him and brockman knockin bodies around on floor.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
Looks like Urijah has 2 chins
One for a left punch and the other for a right….that’s a dangerous combination

For all those who think too much of early season advanced stats.....
We should trade Reke for Keyon Dooling…. by his 82games.com profile, it’s obvious he’s a superstar.

The numbers are troubling
They show the Kings are worse with Tyreke on the floor. LeBron was a franchise player before he stepped foot in the NBA. Tyreke not looking like a franchise guy to me

It's exciting to be insulted
But my entire text in that .82games fanshoot went as follows:
Tyreke doesn’t look quite so good here as he does on the court. There are conflicting opinions on his play. I like him, but am undecided on his upside. What do y’all think about his stats?
That is awfully far from insulting. Many of you need to relax.

I hope you don't mean me, but if you do
I’ve got no bad feelings. I like the discussion it lead to.

You forgot this comment -
But he’s not looking like a franchise guy to me.

And that's OK, you're entitled to your opinion
But if that is your opinion, own it, at least until you change it.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
I don't think I have changed it.
But you’ll see I’ve used the present progressive. I haven’t been definitive. In fact, I’ve been complimentary, but open to criticism. The silliness is in refusing to acknowledge anything other than godliness in Evans.

In fact
Go ahead and find all the negative adjectives I used to describe Evans.

I don't think anyone has a problem with anyone saying Evans
doesn’t look like a franchise player.
I think most have a problem with anyone saying Evans doesn’t look like a franchise player after 30 games in his NBA career. Correct me if I’m wrong but did Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan look like franchise players after their first 30 games in the league?

Except for Kobe...
Yes.

So let's look at stats
Kobe, LeBron, and Michael entire first season. Their whole first season
Kobe (18 years old): 7.6 pts, 41% FG, 38% 3FG, 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assist
LeBron (19 years old): 20.9 pts, 42% FG, 29% 3FG, 5.5 rebounds, 5.9 assist
Michael (21 years old): 28.2 pts, 52% FG, 17% 3FG, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists
Now, Tyreke Evans (20 years old) after 30 games in his first NBA season:
20.5 pts, 46% FG, 25% 3FG, 5.3 rebounds, 5 assists

"But-he's-not-looking-like-a-franchise-guy-to-me"
See, that is an opinion, one offered by you. And again, that is OK. Just own it.
I see no reason why Evans can’t be Wade or Roy, both franchise guys. That’s not to say that he will be, but it is to say that he could be. Your opinion is that he is not looking like a franchise guy to you. My opinion is that I have seen enough that I can at least entertain the notion that he might be a franchise guy.
I’m not putting words into your mouth here, and I’m not taking you out of context. Perhaps it is as simple as I am taking the optimist’s view, and you are taking the pessimist’s view. Fair enough. I’ll own my opinion. You should own yours.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
I see plenty of reasons.
He doesn’t play like either one of those guys.
I may well be wrong in this.
I’ve never backed off my opinion, and you can’t find an example of me doing so. I admire Evans achievements and am thankful for his presence. What I don’t understand is people on this board reacting as though I killed JFK in response to my opinion that he might not be Dwayne Wade or Kobe Bryant.

Quite.
I think that’s what I’m trying to say, but toward the arguers.
Just imagine the tears I’d shed if I were banned. It’d be like every other Kings year other than this one!

Just got home from the game
We looked pretty discombooberated in the first half, but whatever PW told them in the locker room at halftime sure did the trick. We came out and played like our hair was on fire in the 2nd half. Great win!
P.S. All hail John Brockman!!!

Who cares?
It counted for the Kings. He won the game, and we know it.

Are the top 8 plays actually really awesome? Not only was Tyreke’s shot the game winner, but it was a contested, difficult shot. The one against the Bucks was great too, but this one was a more difficult shot IMO.
Gerald Wallace had a game winning tip in with .7 on the clock for Charlotte, that was at least one better play.

Estimates on what Brocks season high in rbs will be?
I’m going to go with 18. I’m actually surprised he only got 12 with all the playing time. Maybe he got winded.
TYREKE is a pimp, I love your 2 rookies, too bad we didnt get cassipi
hes getting used well in sactomento.
3 rookies
Brockman had 12 boards tonight.

Just got home from the game...
On my way home from ARCO, I stopped at Denny’s and people saw my Sac gear. A few of them gave props to Tyreke for hitting that ridiculous game-winner. He’s developing into a star and people are starting to pay attention, even here in the bay area.
That was an awesome game. I’m so proud of the team for fighting back. The crowd was insane.
KINGS WIN!
…on a game I didn’t watch (or gamecast-ed). Im gonna miss the next one too and see if there’s a pattern here.
There can only be one Noce!
Makes 2 of us.
Maybe we can sit the next one out too. Worth a try,
I vow not to watch (or gamecast) any game until we lose again. Hopefully, this starts us on a winning streak!
There can only be one Noce!
I was doing leg lifts during the second half of the Warriors game
So no more of that :)
What was funny was I was waiting until Tyreke crossed the time line and then holding my legs above the ground until the Kings shot. Let me tell you, after a while, holding your legs up for 20 seconds gets old.
