I only saw the second half

Was out to dinner. Looks like I got home for the good stuff.

Spencer played exceptionally well, and I like the way they used JT, Hawes and Brockman in a nice rotation way where they all got good minutes.

And after last night, I loved the way we handled the ball in the fourth quarter.

He only lets people believe that Kevin Pritchard, Chuck Norris, or Andres “Chapu” Nocioni run it because when you run a universe you have to conserve your energy. Plus, Chuck Norris makes good movies.

To never ever question a late game ISO with Tyreke at the controls. He has two game winners so far in his young career, plus a game winning steal against the Wizards. He is our go to go now, period.

by OrangeLazarus on Jan 9, 2010 10:16 PM PST up reply actions

It's simple

If they cover Tyreke one on one, he should drive and create a shot. When they double, he should pass. He did that well in the fourth quarter tonight.

Tyreke Evans jumper

When it was going like it was tonight, the man is absolutely unguardable. I think the fact that you can see his jumper already improving shows that he’ll eventually become a good jump shooter in the NBA. Most bad shooters don’t really like to take jump shots. Tyreke isn’t afraid. He knows what it can do to his game.

Love me some PW
Frustrated with the officiating and perhaps his team’s losing ways the past two weeks, Kings coach Paul Westphal was given a technical late in the first half. He promptly sat on the scorer’s table, mimicking the same position of Denver coach George Karl.

“I’m acting like George, why don’t you treat me like George,” said Westphal, who remained in that same position nearly a minute after the first half ended.

On the last play

Pretty close to a foul on Tyreke, but the ref said the shooter (Chauncey?) kicked out his leg. We’re pretty lucky neither that one or the JT-Nene tangle went against us.

They didn’t really talk about the final play in the post-game stuff I watched, but if I remember correctly the shooter (apparently JR Smith?) caught the ball, pivoted, and then threw up the shot. Which would mean that since only 0.7 seconds were left, the time probably expired before he threw it up. That’s why I figured they didn’t call a foul. There was some level of contact, but without a good replay I couldn’t tell what really happened…

by Roxanna on Jan 9, 2010 11:24 PM PST up reply actions

Michael (21 years old): 28.2 pts, 52% FG, 17% 3FG, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists

Now, Tyreke Evans (20 years old) after 30 games in his first NBA season:

See, that is an opinion, one offered by you. And again, that is OK. Just own it.

I see no reason why Evans can’t be Wade or Roy, both franchise guys. That’s not to say that he will be, but it is to say that he could be. Your opinion is that he is not looking like a franchise guy to you. My opinion is that I have seen enough that I can at least entertain the notion that he might be a franchise guy.

I’m not putting words into your mouth here, and I’m not taking you out of context. Perhaps it is as simple as I am taking the optimist’s view, and you are taking the pessimist’s view. Fair enough. I’ll own my opinion. You should own yours.
