Have y'all seen Hassan Whiteside lately?

damnnnnnnnnn.   dude put on a ton of muscle.  he literally had to have just eaten and lifted the entire summer.  its actually really awesome since that was obviously one of the things he had to work on, getting bigger by adding poundage to that slight frame.  if he hasnt lost any speed or athleticism (which u usually gain some as long as u are workin out legs too), the man's learning curve will not be quite as steep.

now, he is raw.  we all know that.  but the thing that my friend and i debated was whether or not he will start eventually, with the variable being demarcus cousins.  my viewpoint is that DeMarcus is a power forward.  He has great skills in the post, has a midrange jumper, can put it on the floor a little and will get better at that, and is a terrific passer (fact).  i think he is a more powerful pau gasol.  i dont think any major outlet has compared the two, but i think demarcus has a much similar skillset to him and i see a lot of Pau in his game even now before his career has even started.  i think i remember him even saying in an interview that his favorite player to watch in the nba is pau.

so whats up kings fans?  demarcus is a 4, right?  and is Whiteside gona have to wait a year to get significant minutes in a semi-crowded frontcourt?  i am a big fan of putting youngins through the fire, especially those of demarcus caliber.  my starting five would be Beno, Tyreke (or vice versa), Omri, Cousins, Whiteside from DAY 1!  this allows them to get their growing pains out of the way faster and their potential to be reached quicker, coupled with building chemistry with Reke.  a lot of people dont like thru the fire and say "earn it," which i disagree with.  that should be the mentality when judging later, low upside not much skill but hard worker picks.  the quicker u get these players playing 26-32 minutes, the better.  and i hope the lionshare of demarcus cousins career minutes are spent at power forward and not center, with whiteside swatting shots from the weakside on D, improving rebounding, and developing a very efficient offensive game.

i love ur team and i think it is a top 3 team to watch this entertainment-wise year.  and im a sixers fan that was very dissappointed in not taking cousins at number 2 so color me jealous.  so do u guys have any thoughts on the matter?  my friend thought i was crazy for both the Pau and power forward opinions.
