Kevin Love, zero rebounds in the 2nd half

The Kings did a great job of getting him under control. Tolliver went nuts, but that’s ok because they stopped Love from putting up a vintage KG type of statline.
Greene did a great job going in a battling for boards on both ends, an awesome sign if he keeps that effort up all season.

Team W

Beno, Cisco, Cousins, and Head all with very good games.

I like the way the SF position was handled:
Donte – 26 mins, 6 pts, 7 boards, 2 assist, 1 block (bad FG% and FT% thought)
Omri – 20 mins, 10 pts, 4 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and one big dunk off a great pass from Beno

I think this is a bit of what the coaching staff envisions for the SF spot. Also, Dont eplayed more minutes but Omri finished the game. Great balance there.

Now let’s win one (or two!) more in this roadtrip

A mostly solid performance

Cousins and Landry had good games against guys that can play a little bit. Garcia, Beno and Head played well, and Casspi brought heat off the bench. Double bonus for an opening night road win, even in Minnesota.

As opening road trips go, the schedule is as kind as it could be.

Kevin Love? If he’s open, you are BONED. And young Wes? That kid is going to do well, the athleticism is ridiculous. Given their roster, that was the smart pick.

And I’m glad of that, you know, beCousins…

All of his 3pt misses rattled out, but I have no clue as to why he misses FT's

His stroke is really too good for him to miss that badly. I’m going with the added muscle had affected his touch like it did JT. It’s going to take a while to get use to it, but he can be a 40% shooter from outside and 75% from the line.

Last seasons 37.7% from beyond the arc was only 2nd to Garcia’s 39%.

I thought it was telling

that at some point Beasley hit a couple back to back baskets in the second and PW subbed Donte in.

And also, most of his missed shots were ones you want him taking: assisted 3s. No excuse for the FTs but I thought he brought more positives than negatives.

Same here

"It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?"

I think that Eric Gordon needs to use his team more than he does

i.e. that play where he got blocked when he had griffin trailing on the break.

Here's how my night went

I’ve been sick, so I was debating whether or not to stay up to watch the game – I started watching the first quarter and things were going great! I was very excited and the game was off to a good start.

Then DeMarcus put up a missile of a three point shot that practically missed everything and I felt tremendously sick all of a sudden and then literally passed out.

You should get that checked out

Normally bad shots just me groan, not make me get violently ill and almost pass out.

Okay, can someone clear this up for me?

Gray said in his interview with Cuz that this is the first time the Kings have won an opener of any kind, season or home. Jones tweeted that it was the first time since 2003, and Amick said it was the first time since 2000.

Who’s right?

I think Amick is right

Lebron and the Cavs was the first game in 2003

And we won that. I think the Kings played the Hornets the year after, and they lost that

I think JR

said first road opener win since 2000. Not sure about the road thing, but the year was def 2000.

Too bad we didnt blow the wolves out more.

I would have liked to see Whiteside get some more garbage time.

Might've blown em out with Evans

We didn’t really have anyone to break down the defense, had to hope our shots fell, which luckily they did. If we can combine the great ball movement tonight with Evans, I like our chances to have a noticeable improvement this year.

But thats a good question

Can we combine the ball movement with Evans? If he plays off the ball at the 2 I think so.. Though it’s been awhile since I ve seen such good movement from the Kings.

The ball movement was night and day in comparison to what happened in the preseason

Also, thank you for the technical foul when your team lost by 1

(even though it was more like 3 since that last second tip in didn’t matter at all).
