Post Game Thread: Kings at Cavaliers

Wow, what a crazy finish.  Kings desperately need to learn how to close games out better.  But a win's a win, and a road win is even better.  2-1 baby!

That was fantastic and excruciating simultaneously.

The lesson here is – GET INTO YOUR OFFENSE. Inside the last two minutes it is like we go into the prevent. I’m FINE with burning ten seconds, but not twenty.

They are young. They will get better.

Evans has to get better at late game management. We are NOT looking for 18 foot fadeaways.

Blame PW

not Evans for that.

What we've got here is, failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.

So you think

PW told evans not to get into the offense untill its almost too late to get anything done ?

Good Gif

And the more I like at it, the more I like that the Kings really didn’t go with the centered numbers. With this style jersey, the offset ones look better.

2-1, could've easily beem 3-0, but still a lot of work to do

a young team like this can’t think that they can turn it on and off every game, no matter the opponent. Someone on that coaching staff better figure out what the problem is. Yes, it’s awesome to win these games, but it’s obvious we have the talent to play better.

The execution at the end of games also needs to get better. Tyreke is not there yet, and he’s not making the right plays to win close games. Yes, we want him to get reps, but we also want to win. Even when Beno handled it for a couple plays, we still didn’t get quality shots. Back to the drawing board there.

Gotta build on the good things and take advantage of the home stand that’s coming. Big game on Monday, Arco is gonna rock.

Agreed

They’re young and have a lot to learn. Take advantage of the home stand.

Also could have been 0-3

The road has been terrible for the team the last few years. this year will be lots of fun but it will also be really frustrating at times. Either way it is going to be a fun year and a home stand will hopefully get a few kinks worked out.

It's only the third game

Thrilled they are still winning. Not preparing for the Lakers yet.

Starting to believe they can win 40 games this season. I don’t care how awful a road win looks, will take any kind of road win.

Hey, can't bitch too much about a road win (and getting two of the first three away from ARCO)

It has to be said

Other than those two free throws at the end, Omri Casspi was such a badass.

And Dalembert? Exactly what we wanted, blocking shots, changing shots, rebounding, rolling to the basket and running the floor well.

Darnell Jackson also put in some good work and I don’t really regret the Brockness trade that much anymore. Brock could rebound way better, but the Juice Man can defend and hit that jumper with ease.

It's cause he has size and length to go with that strength

While Brockman’s best defensive maneuver was drawing charges. Guys would just shoot over him when posting him up.

It’ll be interesting to see how much Thompson plays going forward. He makes a lot of mental mistakes on the court. If Jackson keeps it up, we may not see Thompson much when Dalembert, Landry, and Cousins stay out of foul trouble.

A win is a win is a win

Ugly wins sure beat moral victories. A 2-1 road trip is a positive for this team, as is the fact they are winning while still trying to establish an identity and with new players stepping up.

"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal
