Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

"He's slow (the Cavaliers absolutely destroyed the Sixers on any pick-and-roll Hawes was involved with), he can't rebound, and he's playing soft. He doesn't even appear too concerned about all of these things."

-Deep Sixer by Kate Fagan

It's all so clear about Hawes now that I don't have to wear purple shades to evaluate him. The Dalembert trade looks better and better.

Ouch, quite an indictment

but no, I haven’t missed him.

It was always Hawes potential that made us pull for him

Not his overall performance. He had nice games here and there, but the issues that the Sixers fans have with him now are the same ones we all had previously.

Umm... I thought we were officially referring to Voison as the Chick Replacing Amick at the Paper? or CRAP, for short.

Yes,

at least we had those issues when he was still 19-20. We had hope.

I'm not missing him

But I’m still rooting for him. I still think that there is a spot for Spencer in the league if he can ever find consistent health and the right system. But I don’t think that he is hearty enough to be an interior player, and that will certainly limit his opportunities.

I think from now on his success will be dependent on his work ethic

He’s soft, he’s slow, and he’s not a great defender, as Fagan says. But he can shoot, he can post up, and he can pass. What you say about the system is correct. It needs to be the right one for him. But, no coach should tailor a system around a guy that doesn’t want to put the effort in.

I can't wait to see Cousins vs. Hawes

not that I want to see Hawes get killed just because he’s Hawes, but it will be interesting.

Phil Jackson, after treatment for a kidney stone "When the anesthesiologist leaned over me, he said "We named your kidney stone Kobe because it's not passing."

When I look in the box score for our starting center

and I see the number 5 and then realize that its blocks, and not rebounds, I realize how much I don’t miss Spencer Hawes

Good writing by Ms. Fagan

Think we could trade A. V. for her? As for Hawes…good luck Philly, he’s your problem now

BTW--Did you notice the comment about Nocioni

Scheduled for an MRI. Yikes. I think he is on the books another year after this. Not good.

Very happy with the trade and the flexability.

Nocioni has turned out to be the better part of that deal (for Philly).

He’s averaging 9 points, 4 rebs, 1 assist and 1TO on 45%FG, 44% on 3PT FG and in just 23mins/game.

He’s also managed to become the Sixers starting SF after just 2 games. And he played on his sprained ankle after the MRI, scoring 11 pts on 4-6 shooting and getting 3 rebs.

But you do expect me to defend him right?

There can only be one Noce!

Noc doesn't need defending

He just needs the right situation, and Sacramento wasn’t it. I’d like to see him out of Philly, too. Get to a playoff team, where he could be perimeter offense and tenacity off the bench.

What really surprised me is how fast they've embraced Noce.

We’ve grown from 2 Noce fans to 4 in a matter of 2 weeks! Hahaha!
