Preview: Kings vs. Bucks

Star-divide

STARTING LINEUPS & INJURIES

The starting lineup will be Beno Udrih, Tyreke Evans, Donte Greene, Carl Landry and Samuel Dalembert. DeMarcus Cousins will come off the bench due to a sprained professionalism. Jason Thompson is still unavailable, and Darnell Jackson could be, too.

The Bucks have Keyon Dooling at point guard, forreal. Earl Boykins is his backup. Corey Maggette is questionable, Drew Gooden is doubtful, Brandon Jennings is out. John Salmons, Ersan Ilyasova, Andrew Bogut and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute are the main bros to keep an eye on.

SCOUTING REPORT

Please check out HighTops' magical scouting report.

MATCHUP OF THE GAME

Dalembert vs. Bogut. It would have been Cousins vs. Bogut, but ... Needless to say, Bogut is the Bucks' best player on either end, and if Dalembert can limit his offensive effectiveness, the Kings should be in a position to win. And by "in a position to win," I mean leading by 30 points, since that it apparently what it takes.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Tyreke Evans, y'all. Can our boy Salmons stay in front of him? What do you think?

FEUD I FORGOT I HAD

Hey, I used to be Andrew Bogut's enemy! Weird. <Ahem.> A POX ON ALL OF AUSTRALIA!

GIVEAWAY GAME

There is no giveaway game entry because I forgot to post one before noon.

DETAILS

7 PM start. Game threads at 7 and 8:30. Let's go Kings.

I can't wait to see the Brockness Monster again!!!

I know my wife will be excited. Maybe we’ll make pancakes for dinner in loving memory.

Last chance to get that win before Christmas.

Let’s go!

On a side note

Cousins on “Around the Horn” and “Pardon the Interruption” today. The general consensus is that they agree that the punishment is good, and one guy, I believe Bob Ryan said it wasn’t harsh enough. Now I know it’s ESPN, but I do really like Mike Wilbon and generally agree with most of his views, and he agrees with the punishment as well.

sorry but

you get 4 or 5 sportswriters in a room together and start talking about show boating or any immature behavior by an athlete and the next thing you know they begin talking whimsikly about the days when dads gave their kids the leather belt treatment.

I predict JT will never breathe through his nose.

somehow I imagine your childhood playing out as a Tom and Jerry episode

actually that’s kind of awful to say in retrospect given how violent that cartoon was. (notice how I still clicked POST)

I would be more Jerry than Tom

passive agressive instigator.

There are some guys dumber than me, some guys worse looking, I take umbrage at the fact that there is no guy that is both.

I do see them do this all the time

but I also see them talk about the old days when it was commonplace for players to showboat and trash talk. So take it however you will, I wasn’t trying to input my personal opinion about it, but just to spread the word in something that wasn’t worth a fanshot, but I felt was worth mentioning.

Is it just me

or does it seems like the only time they really dive into joking about the showboating in the good old days is when a former player first brings it up?

I predict JT will never breathe through his nose.

Possibly

I’ve never noticed, but I can’t think of any times it wasn’t. I’ll definitely have to look for that from now on. It makes sense though considering how much they like to suck up to their guests.

You would suck up to your guests too.

If they were the main reason you were on the air. Nobody goes into broadcast journalism, for lack of a better term, because of their humility.

I guess thats why I'm not in journalism

I would have a really hard time not being a dick to/about the players/teams that I hate

Aren't we in journalism?

At least peripherally? We might be more biased at least outwardly towards the teams, players, intitutions, and schools we dislike or like, but we also comment and report as we hear of things.

by Lotusprime on Dec 23, 2010 3:27 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

I don't do near enough research to consider myself a journalist

but then I guess neither does Fox News…

I'm not much of a fan of Around the Horn

but I do like Pardon the Interruption. Mostly because of Wilbon. Although Around the Horn is much more bearable now without that douche Jay Mariotti on it every time

I was going to say the same thing

beat me to it

GO KINGS!

I har har har at the angst.

I'm pretty sure they've already found every way, so now they're looking at ways to win

I just ate our next coach for dinner.

Let’s hope Westphal does a great job tonight, because if not, we’ll have to hire the dead general.
