The Rockets have spoken with Sacramento, which has the sort of young talent the Rockets would seek, and Charlotte, which would more likely have to include attractive draft picks along with contracts, according to one individual familiar with the talks.
The Kings have been steadfast in a refusal to deal first-round pick DeMarcus Cousins, despite a rocky start.

I just don't think trading for Yao is a good idea.
I’m not interested in financial tactics at all anymore.
I want us to pursue avenues that will add WINS to this team.
This, to me, would seem unsavory to the fans who are loyally sticking to this team, despite the gut wrenching season we are having.
I just hate this idea.
The trade wouldn't be just for Yao
I am guessing what was discussed is more like Yao + asset (1st rounder or Brooks perhaps) for Landry. and/or Dalembert.
"The Rockets have spoken with Sacramento"
Of course they have :\
Maybe we can give them Cousins & Tyreke for Yao (because obviously they can’t play together) the can give us Yao & Kyle lowry. This would fit the current scheme of Kings/Rockets trades.

uhh.......what? Why?
So we basicly traded Kevin Martin for nothing. Like litterally nothing. Yao has nothing left & will be lucky to get a contract after this season. I mean I guess the Martin trade is already a disaster so how could this be any worse?

Traded for the short end of the stick the day it happened
Hard work beats talent when talent is hardly working...
we would be trading martin for the 100 million in jersey sales we would make in the 6 mos yao is posing for pictures and sitting on the bench
At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.
If we can get Brooks in this deal, lets do it.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
Please...
No more contract/salary jockeying. We’ve got a shitload of cap space now which we have yet to use. When is it enough? I’m all for improving this team and God knows it needs improving, but it has to be something of substance now, not savings for 1,2 or 3 years down the road. I know call me impatient. Let the flaming begin.

This is a total non-issue
This writer is combining two non-related stories. Yes, there are probably teams who need to cut salary, who would consider trading for Yao’s expiring. Yes, the Kings have been talking about acquiring Brooks. The two have nothing else to do with each other. The article states that Houston wants young players or picks for Yao’s expiring. The Kings don’t need to shed any more salary. We have our own big expiring and aren’t looking to shed more. Not even sure why this made the main page, unless I’m missing something.

It sounded to me
like they were talking trades with teams, Sacramento was one of them, but the whole Yao Ming thing was just that they are using him as one option if it could help a deal go down. Which means that the Kings aren’t necessarily in talks for Yao, but just with the Rockets. Maybe it would be a three way with the Kings/Rox/Bobs that sends Yao’s contract to Charlotte. That would be the only way I see any deal with them having any potential for the Kings to get anything out of it.

the fact
that DMCs name would even come up in this crap trade is scary as hell. If we traded DMC for Yao’s expiring I’m officially done with this team…
It would never, ever in a million years happen

That is what I would have thought about Kevin Martin.
If you want to be your best, you have to do your best, otherwise you are only second rate.

Kevin was unhappy
Players get like that. When they are as good as Kevin Martin the team should do their best to try to work things out. Not immediately trade them for “magical capspace”. We’re not exactly talking about Stephen Jackson or Allen Iverson here. Things could have been worked out.

Exactly, I thought we should have gotten a lot more in that deal
everyone made out great but us. I don’t buy the ‘well we got a lot of cap space’ response. Anytime we wanted to we could have traded Martin for an expiring. I would of held out for Carl and Lowry, or no deal.

Don't get revisionist on us. You don't know what kind of value Kevin Martin had on the market.
It may not have been as high as you think it was or should have been.

Who's being a revisionist?
there were plenty of people that didn’t like that deal. And, what does market value have to due with my opinion that we shouldn’t have done the deal unless we got more.
Your not one to hold back on your opinion as to the value of a player. Now I’m being unrealistic because I did and do believe that Martin was worth more than Carl Landry.

That's not what I meant by revisionist.
Don’t change something into what perceive than what actually existed. I’m not saying Landry had more value to the Kings; what I am saying is that it’s possible Martin really didn’t have the value that you’re attaching to him.

you need to stop bringing up Lowry HT
I can’t handle such talk. He has been one of my favorite random non Kings for awhile. Also throwing George Hill into that bundle as well.
I predict JT will never breathe through his nose.

Houston has some good assets that i wouldn't
mind trading for. They have some solid young players and some 1st round picks.
I'd take Battier in a nano second

Is Chris Wallace the new GM of the Kings? I missed the story.. sorry
Someone be hating on the Kings to suggest they would make a trade of DMC for Yao.
