Well, I learned something tonight.
We should start the lineup that played in the last several minutes of the game. What was it, Pooh, JT, Omri, Cisco, and…Carl? Because I feel like they played better than any other combination tonight.
If we keep screwing with the starting five anyway, why not use something that worked?

Because that lineup was playing against the Lakers scrubs
and still managed to get outscored in the 4th quarter.

Only one thing will make this night not so bad.
Go have sex, people. Have lots of it.
And if at any point you feel like quitting after 8 minutes, remember that that’s how the Kings play basketball too, so unless you wanna get your ass handed to you, you better not quit.

8 minutes?!??!?
That’s like 4-6 times. Sheesh. Unless you count the foreplay them it’s only 2-3 times.

So I'm watching the most recent episode of Psych
And it’s a Twin Peaks homage which is a show I’ve never seen and thus I don’t get these references. Which is unfortunate because knowing this show, they are many and brilliant.

Twin Peaks was a trip, you should rent the series.

Haha well it isn't a really long series

This is as bad as we looked under Dick Motta
Westphal is an abomination.
My favorite rotational fact for the day: Luther Head is good enough to start for us, but he only plays 15 minutes.
In addition, the Lakers didn’t even play well, we are just this bad.
He didn't even finish the 1st quarter.
Beno came in when Evans went to the locker room, but PW didn’t like Beno and Head so Garcia came in for Head 2:30 later.
Surprisingly, PW said in his post game comments that he’s seen enough of this lineup and plans to change it. What a shock.

Which lineup?
I can’t keep track anymore.
If he could mix player parts, like some demented Coach Frankenstein, he would.
Tomorrow I will start Dalembert’s body with Jackson’s hands; Jason Thompson’s legs with Landry’s torso; Donte’s body with Garcia’s head; Casspi’s body with Beno’s head, and play Evans 35 minutes even if he shoots 30%.
But of course, that is all subject to change….

Garcia's head should never be used.
This game was so disasterous as to have no entertainment value. No sign of improvement either individually or team wise. Reruns of Twin Peak would have been a better choice for your time.
At this point, I don’t care who’s fault it is. I have emailed the Kings requesting that they remove my name from their email list. There is no chance I will be buying any additional tickets in the near future or maybe the distant future.

Comcast isn’t carrying the games due to their dispute, and I don’t really even care. I did manage to catch a little Pooh time on atdhe tonight.
I haven’t looked at the home schedule and have no immediate plans to. The last couple seasons I had already attended at least a game by now and was actively scouting future game options.

Note to Maloofs
Ejecting Katie Christensen for Jim Gray (he looks like a Rankin-Bass puppet from Santa Claus is Coming to Town) is one of the DUMBEST moves in a Kings history replete with dumb moves.
We have sunk to actually interviewing Kobe Bryant to get his thoughts on the Kings……… (for the SECOND time.) I am speechless. It is like a dork asking the cool kid if they can sweep his porch. Unforgivably lame. We should just forfeit the rest of our games and disband the franchise. Not that we want to be legitimate ourselves, we want to ask a good team if they like us….. The topper of watching the Kings play so awful, is seeing that douche-nugget Jim Gray with his annoying ass smirk interviewing just whoever he happens to be walking by at that moment. I wonder why the Kings even pay him, you know, considering he hasn’t covered the Kings in any way yet…
And for the record, I feel like he screws up his lines just as much as Kayte did, and he is supposed to be the amazing dude who makes no faults. God I wish we had her back, and thats not even about her looks, I at least felt she had an interest in the Kings, or for basketball at all for that matter.

well people this might be the year
This might be the year I retire from this grueling, laboring, & depressing job as Kings fan. We are back to being the worst team in the league. Our coach is incompetent. Our GM might be incompetent, & our owners seem to be cheap & incompetent. We are no longer the fun, young, up & coming team we looked like at the beginning of last season. This team is miserable & pathetic.
I will continue to follow this team until the infamous collective bargaining agreement is settled & the Maloofs make in rain on free agents(suposedly even though not one other owner seems to be too concerned including the notoriously frugal owner of the Griz) Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t the CBA have nothing to do with coaches salaries? So why the F did they dig into the depths of obsurity to pull out PW? I’d rather have Eric Freakin Musselman. Atleast he knows basketball too bad he’s 5 feet tall & doesn’t command the respect of guys litterally twice his size.
Getting blown out by the world champs is not a huge deal. I never expected them to win or even come within 10 points of winning but this team is getting bitch slapped night in & night by every team. Great teams, good teams, average teams, terrible teams, the T-Wolves. Everyone gets a turn spanking the Kings like a dirty skank with serious daddy issues. I hope the Cavs players & fans watched this beatdown tonight so it can make them not feel so bad about their debacle last night. HEY CAVS IT COULD BE WORSE! YOU COULD BE THE KINGS!
I love beating dead horses.

I was pretty miserable last week. The Rockets record was fully as bad, and Ray Parker Jr. performed "Ghostbusters" in Memphis tonight at the half.
A couple of good weeks can make a big difference.
I think Sac is still a promising young team, with the keyword being “young”. The Lakers were all set to massacre anyone they played tonight.
I’ve watched only a few Kings game this season, so you decide what that is worth, but my sentiments are:
1. Play Cousins as much as possible. If he fouls out, he fouls out. I can’t believe anyone thinks Dalembert is the long-term answer at C. Big men improve in game time more than any other player, except possibly PGs.
2. Westphal doesn’t seem to be a coach for big men, every single big man in Sacramento seems to have stalled out. Not sure who you get to fix it.
3. Landry is a bad fit for the offense the Kings are running. Either teach the team to work the post more (and that means Evans), or trade him for a spacing PF if possible.
4. Send Casspi to the D-League for a few weeks, he looks lost when I’ve seen him at least.
5. Priorities to get – a very strong defender at SF or SG, and another combo guard who can pass into the post, a spacing PF to take advantage of Evans, and Cousins passing ability.
6. Convince Evans, somehow, that Cousins is more important than he is.

It is interesting to note the difference between poor record and talent. good team play that is at the precipice of winning (Rox) and poor record and talent, poor team play and not really in the contest (SacKings).
I agree that the Kings appear disjointed and aimless. Your “outside” impressions are valuable. It is the confusion and insecurity that “young” teams display that you note. The hardest part for any fan is waiting. We want wins and we want them NOW. Our fanhood appears fraught with the hope and uncertainty of believing that a tincture of time will cure the ailment. Well
I’ve had to talk myself into keeping the faith in Houston a little bit this season. I wrote about it this week (lucky timing for me I hope) basically asking whether or not I believe my analysis about the team. My answer was yes (with some nervousness).
Sometimes you’re just sick of losing, and I’d say Sacramento has the ability to win now, with a few tweaks. One problem is that at some level, “veteran leadership” is true, particularly in terms of keeping a young team focussed and professional in the face of adversity. As I see it, the veteran Kings aren’t really leaders, and the leaders have no experience. In this situation a still-decent crusty old player or two would be very useful, someone who really, really, plays defense, especially.
Failing getting on-court examples of professionalism, then you’ve got to have a coach who’s a teacher and can lead young men.
OKC is a young team too, and I’d say the overall team talent levels are comparable, with OKC having the best two players, though it need not stay that way. OKC has a guy who’s basically a college, almost high school, level coach. He’s enthusiastic and teaches the sorts of things young men need to hear. It won’t last too much longer (business will break their hearts) but OKC acts like a tight mid-major NCAA team.
Westphal isn’t the guy to lead a team whose best two players don’t add up to 45 years between them. On the other hand, I very much doubt Brooks is the OKC coach for more than a couple of years unless the Thunder get so good it doesn’t matter who’s coaching, but that said, he’s exactly the sort of guy Sacramento needs. Each team might benefit from a swap.

If he's not out of coaching for good, Rudy T is a great coach for young talent, particularly paired with a Del Harris-type.
He’s intense, inspiring, and he has the rep as a player and coach that young men simply have to believe in him. After getting sick, though, he may be done.

Well it was either that, or a coach that's highly suitable to young players
And I don’t say “veteran leadership” lightly – it’s mostly bogus, but in certain cases it’s valuable, and that’s helping young guys stay focussed, but only if you have the right guys for that.

The point was both teams are roughly equally young - OKC is doing pretty well.
I was really wondering where the difference in performance lies – it’s not so much player talent in my opinion.

I made a comment on this to my buddy as we were watching the game
And I really think the guy we miss the most is Brockman. Sure his skill level wasn’t the best, but whenever he went into the game the energy level of everybody on the floor went up. I agree with David Thorpe when he says that energy is a talent, and the Brock-ness monster had a way of not only playing with it, but giving it to everyone else. Since he left there has been a gaping hole in our efforts night in and night out. I say we try to get him back.
You know what, I wasn't even mad when we would lose a close game,
but this is getting fucking ridiculous. This team gives up at the very first sign of adversity, their coach has absolutely no consistency in his rotations, and everyone looks to get their own shot.
I’m sick of this bullshit. For the first time ever, I’m embarrassed to be a Kings fan.

The Play That Made Me Turn the Game Off
In the 2nd Quarter, the Kings get a 4 on 2 fast break….and the possession ends in a turnover out of bounds.
On a positive note, I watched the movie “Date Night” instead and it was funny.
So I'm pretty positive the guy who doesn't know the plays is Dalembert
so so so so so so so atrocious on offense. He just stands there and drools, then when a ball is passed to him he gets startled and loses it, or misses a gimme dunk. Even when the rest of the team seemed to be moving well, and moving around, he would just cause a dead stop and you could see the frustration every time. Am I alone in thinking he should not be a starter? I really wish Cousins didn’t have the foul trouble that he does, because I would much rather have him start over Dalembert.

It makes no sense to me. So you have a guy who maybe should be starting but you don’t let him start because he might get into foul trouble. So you let another guy start who is a good enough starting center for the past 10 years. Let Cousins start if he fouls out then you have a very decent starting center to take his place.
I love beating dead horses.

I'm on board with that 100%
I don’t get it either, but unfortunately most people feel that people who foul should not start. I think that if he was a guy that we NEEDED for the final minutes then I would be against him starting, but the fourth quarters have been 100% garbage time, so who cares if he’s fouled out by then.

Agreed
And some of the “fouls” on Cousins were ridiculous. I have never seen a guy pick up more cheap fouls.
Yep
but I’m sure the refs started it to see if they could get a reaction out of him. So DMC getting frustrated and making a scene is just egging them on, so he needs to just take it till they get bored. What I am happy about though is that he only has 1 technical for the season (I believe) and that is awesome.

Post fail
Dalembert must have banged waltons daughter or something… The big redhead was calling him out all night for being HORRRRRRIBLE
(very deservedly so, of course)
I’m sure this will break all your hearts but I don’t think you’ll be seeing me much around here anymore , for now this is just too pathetic a product for me to waste my time watching or caring about. I’m not jumping ship, im still s kings fan, Im not hopping any bandwagon. This team simply does not deserve my attention. From ownership (dump kayte for JIM FUCKING GRAY, continued employment of peaches as the media face of the franchise) to player personnel (umpteen trillion in cap space and we sign luther head and antwan wright? At least luthers a starting 2 in this league, lololololol to keep from crying) to coaching (no need for details here) to the near across the board player bedshit (ditto), this team is a train wreck – AN UNINTERESTING ONE- from top to bottom.
Young team with potential, we knew we were a year away, blah blah blah, god bless you all who preach it and believe it, mad props, but I am rooting for a basketball team here, not a fucking ngo trying to rebuild developing nations.
I don’t want to sit in the slaughterhouse while they slowly and amateurishly butcher the pig. Just get me the fucking sausage.

JT played decently
And so did pooh.
There. Something positive.
I seriously don’t get PW. I was worried he was ruining Jason and Omri. It looks like he is ruining Landry.
There really can’t be a downside to promoting Elie. It can’t get worse.

Losing makes everyone look bad, winning makes everyone look good.
Simplistic and overstated and doesn’t make anyone feel better but it needed to be said.

I feel like the way this is going
we wont have to fire PW, he is just going to quit. I think he has tried everything he knows, nothing is working. Whether you believe that is on him or the players is up to you, but personally I feel (from seeing his interviews) that he just doesn’t know what to do with these guys anymore.

I don't think they want to play for him and I also think they want him to quit or be fired. He's lost the team in my opinion.
The players have given up on Westphal it appears and at the same time themselves, they start the games already convinced they’re going to lose. It also doesn’t help that there is barely any talent on this team or at least talent that doesn’t know how to play basketball in the NBA. I’m a die hard Kings fan but Every team in the league is better than the Kings right now, no contest.
Its becoming more and more frustrating and depressing to spend time and energy following this team, I have no answers either so don’t ask.

Insult to injury
Getting crushed by the lakers is bad enough, but listening to Walton blab on and on for hours is topology much!!!!!!!!! He took over the broadcast nobody could get a word in. The capper I mean crapper was the Kobe interview after trashing us. What does the producers think Kings fans wanna hear from him? Unbelievable!!! I expected improved play this year. This is such a disapointment how can players actually get worse ? It seems like the players have no idea what their roles are , is it possible to quit on your coach in December ? I feel the Kings have to change coaches . You can only change the damn line up so many times. You would think a head coach by December would know who the starting line up should be. This team is under achieving greatly, and seems outta whack they set new low’s every game something has to change!!

I'd rather have spencer hawes as player-coach
Than westphal calling postups for sammy d, that game tonight had me looking for acid-doused q tips for my eyes AND ears
lets get iverson and antoine walker in here and have some fun – sure I’m kidding but it would be far more watchable

When I joined Nancy Hawes was our center
I wish I could change the name. Also too lazy to get another account. Judge me not on my screen name , but the substance of my comments, and my spelling , and sentence structure . Ha ha

Trust me I'm not judging
I was aiming that comment just as much at myself. I was preaching about needing a defensive minded center all last year too. I got sooo happy just to have my heart ripped apart. Why can’t we ever just have it both ways?

I think they started making the TV broadcasts bad
So we’d buy tickets and go to the games instead…now I know it was an away game but tonights Kings game “brought to you by Bill Walton and Kobe” did it for me…hello 1140
F#ck Kobe Bryant.
F#ck Shaquille O’Neal
F#ck Phil Jackson
F#ck Rick Fox (twice)
F#ck Sasha Vujacic
F#ck Robert Horry
F#ck Derek Fisher
F#ck Dick Bavetta, Bob Delaney and Ted Bernhardt – I’m still waiting for them to have their jerseys retired at Staples.
F#ck Every Laker fan who comes to Arco Arena, wears his hat sideways and stands up and cheers with his arms out and his back to the floor whenever Kobe scores a basket.
Oh, and F#ck Jack Nicholson, Dyan Cannon, and that silver haired douchebag wearing the snakeskin boots.
Who’d I miss?
by B-RAD on Dec 4, 2010 1:19 AM PST via mobile reply actions
Bill Walton spent time on the radio broadcast as well
but at least I think they have a little more class than Jim Gray so I wouldn’t expect Kobe on their any time soon

oh no! lol Kobe was interviewed? really? lol
That’s terrible!! lol on 1140am? how saaaad. wow. Although I must admit, I’ve have had a crush on Kobe since 1999. I’m not a Laker fan, but I admire his personal drive and dedication the sport of basketball. In addition, Kobe is such a cutie-pie and he has the biggest heart. ;-)
by Kaylee19 on Dec 4, 2010 1:33 AM PST up reply actions
I think I should flag this.
But I will maybe just mention that this isn’t exactly the place to mention Kobe’s ‘big heart.’

He was NOT interviewed on 1140am
he was interviewed by that ass-munch Jim Gray on the CSN broadcast. I was saying that I believe 1140 is better than that, but at this point I have no idea anymore.
