It took us a damn long time

Talk about a stressful game. Damn.

Haha I just remembered, I watched the 3rd place match in Tahoe at this Irish pub. These gross guys were there…it was at like 11am our time and they came in with Starbucks (it had outdoor viewing) and ordered a round of Coronas. So they were alternating between Starbucks and Corona….so fucking gross. I had a mai-tai lol at 11am. It felt really cool

Extra stress levels! lol. It was a good one but the other match was higher scoring so it was more exciting, plus I didn’t REALLY care who won, though I was glad it was Germany.

Haha yeah true I'm glad Spain won it all

I was just rooting for them because of the Hispanic history lol plus they have a great team. And speaking of PK’s I felt so bad for Ghana when they lost to Uruguay. They had the game in their hands with a penalty at the end of extra time and blew it. I felt bad for that player who missed (but I can’t remember his name.)

And still makes them because he is a decent mid-range shooter. As long as he’s open I don’t have a problem with it. Likewise for his inside shots even though he does miss a ton.

The Lakers will bottom out like the Knicks did last decade, submarined by bad moves, poor signings and unlucky drafts. Their fans will flee in droves. Jack will pass away. The buzz will be gone. He also played some during our losses too

I don’t think he does much to determine whether we win or lose or whether we are competitive or not. He is a good energy hard-hat player but his skill set is minimal that we don’t gain much by having him in there

You wanna question anything that PW has done?

Why didn’t he play Pooh at all earlier in the season? I can think of counter-arguments, but, it’s worth remembering how much Pooh Jeter has meant to this team the last 3 games.

It’ll be interesting to see if Pooh continues to have the same effect. I think he will.

No, because when not hanging from the neck of Ancient Mariners albatrosses are sort of impressive.

But a platypus? What do you do with one? What’s it for? Where does it fit? Is it a guard? A center? A mammal? Does it dunk at 6’11"? Why not? Why does it have venom in its claws? Why the eggs? Why no jump shot?

Thus Jefferies=Platypus.

I was one

This is a career game for JT. He was playing like shite early in the year. Darnell was straight up outplaying him, Jason was struggling just to get minutes, and I was saying maybe we should shop him while we could still get something decent in return since our frontcourt was so crowded anyways. Clearly, JT has started playing much, much better. But I do think he’s probably still on the trading block.

"If you're going to lead the orchestra, you have to turn your back on the audience." -Geoff Petrie

by AnotherStupidSN on Dec 8, 2010 9:18 PM PST up reply actions

Except Darnell was never playing better than JT

JT was juggled around when it came to minutes, starter, bench, deep bench, SF

and still the guy went out there and provided some hustle. It’s hard to gain any type of stability when you’re no sure what you’re going to get game by game.

Not to mention people were trying to make him the scapegoat which just made me roll my eyes

I’d laugh my ass off if we trade JT to keep Darnell.

I just don't think

it’s very smart to shop JT to keep Daly, Landry and Darnell over him. Especially when JT’s trade value is very low.

I mean if something comes up that will definitely helps the Kings, then I say go for it, but I doubt teams would try to give the Kings anything of value for JT. At least not right now.

thats a dangerous play

"For five decades (and counting), these fans have been blessed with West, Baylor, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Shaq and Kobe. Seven of the 15 best players ever. At some point, the gravy train will end. The Lakers will bottom out like the Knicks did last decade, submarined by bad moves, poor signings and unlucky drafts. Their fans will flee in droves. Jack will pass away. The buzz will be gone. That's how the NBA works -- in a 30-team league, you can't always get lucky, not even if you're a big-market team with deep pockets. I find it interesting because of how extreme the +/- is for the Kings players. Like 214 said though, a +45 is a +45.

by KingsJunkie on Dec 8, 2010 9:28 PM PST up reply actions

He played within the flow of the game

and didn’t force anything. He’d kick it out after a drive, played within the offense. He didn’t need to score. And even when the 3’s were missed, the bigs were in position to get an offensive board, which is why JT is having a terrific game. Tonight, less was more for Tyreke.

True story

I heart him. The movies are inconsistent, probably due to the fact that the directors changed so much. The first two are the closest to the books…the third is my least favorite probably because the book is my favorite of them all. But I hate the way the filmmakers apparently think the audience is stupid. Like in the 3rd when they have Harry find Pettigrew on the map like halfway through. Or in the 4th when you see Barty Crouch Jr in the beginning doing the weird tongue thing and then Moody does it all the time. The whole point is that they’re shocking endings, and the moviemakers apparently don’t think the audience is smart enough to follow along. Sigh.

The Solution is clear

We buy a Delorian and drive it up to 88 miles per hour which will then, of course, take us back in time so we can change the Harry Potter movie future.

First by appointment me the director, of course, and you the adviser and in charge of the cinematography.

Then we’ll accept our Oscars ;P lol

Um, YES

Hmm…where to find a Delorean? And we’ll need to have a damn good presentation prepared to get cleared as being in charge of a film franchise that’s grossed like $6+ billion worldwide…but we can SO handle it. Also, I call the right to script approval. We will treat the audience as knowledgable and will not pander to them, nor will we change shit just for the hell of it. We will then become mega millionaires and will chill courtside at Kings games :-P

You forgot to mention where we sponsor the Kings

Thus the arena will obviously be called whatever we so wish.

and Yes, you get the rights to script approval, but I want final cut privileges. Obviously we will have many heated arguments on what gets edited, but I’m sure it’ll all work out and the movie will be awesome and we will celebrate the opening by drinking white Russians…and maybe that Hot Chocolate Peppermint thingy.

Also, we will sue Lucas for making Indy 4 ad the new Star Wars trilogies. Just because.

This seems like a foolproof plan….go back in time, take control of one of the most successful film franchises ever, and become mega rich. Ahh, dude, we’d get to travel the world doing press tours! AND I wouldn’t have to stress about grad school!

OK, time to find the Delorean. Any idea where to start? I’m thinking Craigslist…bound to be some used ones for sale there!

We have to create a time paradox

Maybe we already found one in the future, went back in time, and stashed it for us to find somewhere beneficial.

and then once we get it from where we stash it, we have to go back in time and re-stash it where we find it after we finish using it for everything we wanted.

LOL

That site has so many awful posters. Like people hwo legitimately think the refs screw the Lakers over consistently. Apparently they don’t have eyes. Or, ya know, a brain.

Don't worry

Kobe will make a last second three and Eric Gordon will flagrant foul him from 10 feet away, allowing Kobe a 5 point play

Honestly, if I lived in LA and had no connection whatsoever to the Kings

I’d totally go to the Clips/Lakers games and root for everyone. I think that would be fun.
But I’d probably still boo Kobe just for the hell of it.

I'd definitely do that if I decide to go to college in SoCal.

That was be so awesome. I’d probably get booed out of the arena by the people around me, though. ;)

Would it be on the front page though?

I thought only the moderators/editors/whatever-you-call-them could put it on the front page.

That's correct

It wouldnt be front paged. I just tweeted TZ asking him about it, but not sure if he’ll respond.

Speaking of recaps, I have a question for whoever thinks they know the answer.

In some of the recaps, the players’ performance are evaluated individually, and in others it’s just a general recap of the game. Is there some sort of pattern to that, or is it just whatever Aykis/TZ has time to write? Because I love the player recaps.

by PurpleLoco on Dec 8, 2010 10:18 PM PST up reply actions

Noticed that too

Mostly, I ve seen JJham and JJ from sacbee do the quarter by quarter recaps and a kind of box score.

Most of the ones Ive seen Aykis do, has a general summary followed by the player recaps.

Im with you, I like reading the player recaps.

But

If I were a Clippers season ticket holder in the lower level, I could pay for it by selling the tickets to the 2 Lakers games.

One player is +45, and a teammate is -14?

That’s some useful stat, that is.

Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen. And for a limited time, every third person who follows me on Twitter (andy_sims) gets a free ice cream cone.
