WTF is it with this team??
Is it that hard to pay for a taxi when you are making the kind of money they are??

Cut him!

Wow, not smart.

Should we just sticky a permanent DUI thread?
I’m tired of seeing these on the front page.
Bé foréwarnéd: I am a mémbér of StR Groupthink méntality.
What's the recent count at?
I got
Mussleman, Nocioni, Ellie, Wright, George Maloof
by HeuristicLineup on Dec 9, 2010 10:16 AM PST up reply actions
Not counting George Maloof
Elie is the first one I actually liked. I don’t count George Maloof because I don’t know enough about him.
If we are feeling especially pessimistic
We could just create a public relations snafu thread, and throw in Brad Miller, Tyreke Evans and what was that guys name who referred to himself as a “Winnebago”? Forgettable?

We could call it the Officer Olden Polynice memorial thread!
Couldn’t pass up an Officer OP reference.

Or the OP hitting his wife thread
heck just call it the OP thread

and the chance of Paul Westphal being replaced mid seaon
just went down to 0%. How many drinks do you think Westphal bought Mario last night?

i know Kings wins are rare these days
But come on!

NOW he's ready to coach the team.
Probably should have taken a cab, but whatever. Not anything close to a big deal. Sleep it off and then prepare for the thrashing Miami Thrice will be giving us on Saturday.
I’ll be at that Heat game by the way. Ironically enough, in section 214.

Yup, no big deal at all...
Meanwhile in other news, a woman just recently stabbed her boyfriend to death locally… Hopefully she’ll get a good night sleep on her tempurpedic tonight
by HeuristicLineup on Dec 9, 2010 10:24 AM PST up reply actions
They should have got a sleep number
then you can adjust each side independently. Then no need for stabbing
Keep Jason Thompson out of the damn fruit salad!

Good advice!
Hopefully her next boyfriend will take this advice and remember that she likes her side set at a 6.

Not anything close to a big deal?
Are you serious? A DUI is nothing to just brush off. And to have MULTIPLE offenses by this team alone is absolutely ridiculous

Meh, I don't buy into MADD's marketing campaign
So yeah, I brush it off. Especially after hearing too many horror stories about dick cops still arresting guys who blow under the legal limit. People overreact to DUIs. They happen. Not to me because I don’t need that on my record, but shit happens. This is one of those times.

Tell it to Scott Crouch
Just starting his college career in baseball and he was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago right on Eastern and Whitney ave. It was not her first time driving drunk either. That is not a MADD marketing campaign.

Didn't Nick Adenhart just die from a DUI as well
by HeuristicLineup on Dec 9, 2010 10:34 AM PST up reply actions
over a year ago yes
I will say though that could have been slightly different given the guy was absolutely wasted. Given I know little about the facts regarding Elie here I wouldn’t start throwing too many comparisons.

Driving drunk is driving drunk

Getting arrested for drunk driving is not even close to the same as being convicted of drunk driving

by wallywagon11 on Dec 9, 2010 10:40 AM PST up reply actions
I am not saying this means nothing
I am merely saying you might not want to compare a situation where someone we know was driving with a .16 blood toxicitly level was as bad as someone driving with … well we don’t really know. It’s one thing to say “drunk driving is bad” it’s another to assume a guy who technically could have had a .01 alcohal content for all we know was in fact as reckless as the guy with the .16.

Not to sound callous or anything
But yeah, like I said, shit happens. People are killed by speeders too. For every extreme side of one argument, there’s another extreme on the other side. Which in this case would be the thousands of people make it home drunk without killing anybody. I’ve lost multiple friends to dumbass drunk drivers. It sucks, but it happens.
By the way, and I’ll dropping the subject after this, citing people who’s lives have ended or been altered by drunk drivers if the definition of MADD’s marketing campaign.

I guess I see your point
And if everyone who ever drove intoxicated received a DUI, there wouldn’t be room in the jails for any other criminals. Lord knows I did it without getting caught more than a few times in my 20’s, but you have to grow up at some point.
Drunk driving flat-out kills innocent people every day – that’s the bottom line, so I’m not sure how anyone could be really cavalier about this kind of story. Mario Elie is certainly old enough (and wise enough) to know better.

This really makes me want to see the context this occurred in.

Knicks up by 9 with 4 minutes left against TWolves
ball clearly went out of bounds of Kevin Love but the officials got it wrong Believe it or not that was it.
