Sergio el Grande
It's been discussed a bit in the comments, but the need for Sergio to get a longer look deserves a space of its own. Here are a few reasons I think Sergio should get more burn.
1. Sergio is entertaining. This aspect of the game is not spoken of much in this space; presumably because everyone is trying to be taken "seriously" and serious sports fans do not acknowledge that sports are entertainment.
Whatever the reason, the fact is plain; this team is far more interesting with Sergio on the floor than without him. We are not going to win many games this year, and I'd much rather the time I wasted watching the Kings was spent being entertained than otherwise.
2. Sergio is the quickest of our PG's - and Ziller has oft mentioned and provided the statistical proof that our team does better with a quicker pace. Sergio seems to push the ball nearly every time down the court - much to my delight and to the benefit of the team.
3.Beno seems to need competition to get fired up - Sergio is an ideal candidate to fire up Wabeno again, as he's seemingly in a mini-slump. Ideally, Beno'd then play well for the next few weeks so we can get Lebron or someone for him.
Counterarguments
1. Sergio sucks at defense: Our whole team sucks at defense. We are currently 27th in the league in PPG allowed. GOD FORBID we should play Sergio and end up 28th.
2. Sergio has been successful in garbage time: therefore he will suck in non-garbage time. This is ridiculous and incoherent. We will not know if he will be good or bad in prime time until he is given those minutes. And I recollect a game or two earlier in the year when he played down the stretch of some close games and generally acquitted himself well.

Jon Hamm has been the best host of SNL this season
By far. I actually semi-enjoyed watching it.

i keep on meaning to watch it but for some reason i always forget
Mad Men has essentially replaced the Wire for me in that it’s the one show “i really want to see but have never actually seen it and i have no excuse.”
I will say though, last year started watching Breaking Bad on AMC and that’s some good stuff.
Could some of you maybe use a condom once in a while?
yeah it is
never got past the sixth episode… have to go dvd hunting

I'll second and 3rd that
It literally kicks ass. These days I’d rather watch AMC than HBO.

Give it a shot
The visuals alone are worth the effort…but the writing and acting are excellent as well.
If you pick it up, you might want to start from the beginning, there’s a lot of necessary character development that will help the newer episodes make sense.

That's true of Dexter too.
Season 3 isn’t the same without seeing season 1 &2 in that order.

Kicking puppies is proof that, yet again, Sergio is a good American.

Back to basketball,
I completely disagree with your premise that Sergio is more “entertaining” than our other point guards. I would use the words “flashy” and “quick” before entertaining simply because most of the time that Sergio is in there is no cohesive offense, and things get a little crazy.
I just don’t find that entertaining.
Now, I like Sergio’s game for the most part. But he seems to not be the type of point guard that can run offensive sets. Much more run ‘n’ gun, oop-throwing, fancy passing when he’s on the floor, but a lot of turnovers, and it’s my impression that we tend to fall behind more when he’s on the court.
Do you have actual numbers, or do you just like that style of play and figure we’re not going anywhere anyway, so why not play him more?
Because I think that the Kings are trying at least to put a competitive team on the floor and win games.

Sergio has far and away the best +/-
of anyone on the team at +10.3 (Casspi is 2nd at +2.4).
However, as Sergio’s detractors will point out, much of his playing time thus far has been in garbage time, so there is uncertainty on how much stock to put in those #’s.
I say that +10 is nothing to sneeze at, especially as a PG – the position that bears the most responsibility for what happens on the court. The true test, however, will be whether or not he can sustain those or similar #’s during regular minutes in close games.

My apologies
I misread the data. His current +/- is +17.6 (at least no one can accuse me of exaggerating the data).

I wouldn't say "sucks"
But it’s definitely not a strength. However, the trend is good for his career – .282, .293, .325, .395.

More garbage, less fact. Thru 41 games Sergio is 2.2% worse than Martin from 3's, at 56.8%
That’s 4th on the Kings, behind Omri, Martin, a Beno.

Hollinger's PER ranks him at 14th among point guards
Derrick Rose and André Miller are 12th and 13th, Parker, Kidd, and Westbrook are 16th, 17th, and 20th, respectively.
So, I agree, why not play Sergio a bit more.
The pace thing seems to be key as well. The Kings could go small pretty effectively, but rarely do so. Sergio, Kevin, Tyreke, Donté and Jason runnin’ the floor hard wouldn’t be great all the time, but should definitely be used to dictate the pace of them game.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
Sergio in the starting lineup doesn't have too many supporters...
…but, it might be interesting to see him start as point guard for the first six minutes, just to begin the game at a very high pace. It would hopefully, take the opponents off-guard before they knew what hit them. It seems to me that we start out a lot of games fairly slowly, giving the opponent a chance to get into their groove.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
Its all in the sample size
Has Sergio played well in the minutes he has gotten yes, does he deserve more possibly. But when opposing point guards have to play against Tyreke to start the game and then switch to the up-paced Sergio there is an adjustment period. Hence the good stats he has put up in the limited minutes. Also teams don’t have much film on him or they just never make a compete scouting report because he can’t go left and that will be exposed as he plays more minutes.
Actually, I think it has more to do with the predictability of the offense with Tyreke at PG.
Sergio is a better ballhandler and has better court vision. He could throw up a alley oop, drive to the rim and scorer, drive to the rim and hand off to a big, or kick it back out to beyond the arc. Too many options to defend.
Tyreke is going to drive and go all the ways to the rim and shoot or kick out. So, defenses double him off the screens and sag into the paint when he has the ball.

Im a huge Sergio fan, being from Spain and all, but ...
Hes not an NBA starter, at least not yet. Over time he could have a Nash-lite career, since his shot keeps improving. This is a guy who really needs some minutes to develop.
My theory is that he must be horrible during practices. In games he has managed to make a difference …and yes, he hogs the ball a little too much, which he shouldnt do.
This season isnt going to go anywhere special and Beno is NOT going to get any better, so give Sergio more minutes! I think if he averaged 20 minutes for a season, youd see some real growth from him.
He also reminds me of Nash.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
I do think Sergio could benefit from toning down "the crazy"
He might be the best passer in the NBA (or top 3) but he ruins it by getting buck fever and try to do the craziest plays of all time. You gotta save that stuff.

Yeah, you're right!
He will zipping around, making these fantastic assists, and then out of the blue he will do something way out of line and its like, “What? Where in the world did that come from?” So, absolutely, he needs to curb that aspect of his play, because that is why he loses minutes.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
This was exactly his problem in Portland.
Looked good in the few minutes he was in, but could never get the confidence of the coach to actually put him in the game. And seeing it happen again leads me to think that it might be him and not the coaches. Still, I think he’s a fun player to watch, and definitely does things when he’s in the game. And fans tend to want to see more of him.
πεντήκοντα δύο
Still, that's only 2 coaches that he's worked under
The current one only having known him 1/2 a season and juggling 2 other highly respected PG’s.
And McMillan has a reputation as a control freak, no?

kinda laughing at the idea of beno being a highly respected PG
Could some of you maybe use a condom once in a while?
That's why this trade looked so good for Sergio.
Beno’s decent, and of course Evans is really nice. But Westphal was supposed to be the coach who would be able to best utilize Sergio. If he was as good as he, his agent and his fans thought, then Beno shouldn’t have been too hard to beat out, even the way he’s played this year. That hasn’t happened. Makes one wonder.
πεντήκοντα δύο
See?
Blazer faithful who wanted to see Sergio play well are seeing the same player. Hmmmm. Pattern?
UNLESS that underground cavern was a David Thorpe run training facility. The problem of course, is that players really need to play in NBA game situations for them to develop well. So a league of cyborgs needs to be built along with a regulation-sized stadium and tons of fake fans to simulate real NBA games to develop the players. Though at this point the team is spending billions of dollars to develop those players, so you know… maybe it would be smarter to just wait. -- Iashwash
Is it your fault that Sergio is not what people really believe he is?

Nah
Beno came out on fire. He was shooting so well that they couldn’t sit him. It was more about that and less about Sergio. You maybe didn’t follow the percentages of Beno’s game and just how incredible it was at the beginning of the season. Especially with Martin out.
Sergio still has it and is going to get his chance to show it. I have to kick this upstairs with a 5th rec. It is about Sergio and his game. He brings something the Kings really need.
He can translate when Cisco talks?
I kid.
