Just Like Kevin
I'll admit the song choice is a little weird since it song was original a love song about a girl, but it still seems a fitting send-off to Kevin Martin. I give you "Just Like Kevin" to the tune of "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure.
I don't want to take a lot of space on the front page today, so the song is after the jump.
"Show me how you do that trickHow you make those threes" we said
"The threes that help us win" we said
And threw our hopes upon his back
"Show us how you do it
And we promise you we promise that
We'll stay with you
We'll stay with you"
Spinning on that dizzy edge
I heard of the trade and shook my head
And dreamed of all the different ways he had
To make us grow
"Why are you going away?" I said
"I hope you always know that I'm a fan of you
That I'm a fan of you"
You
"Soft" and only
You
Lost and lonely
You
Shoot strange as angels
Shooting from the furthest ranges
Twisting in the lane
You were just like a dream
Daylight licked me into shape
I must have been zoned out for days
And moving lips to speak his name
I opened up my eyes
And found myself alone alone
Alone and hating Daryl Morey
He stole a King I loved
And left me with just Carl Landry
You
"Soft" and only
You
Lost and lonely
You
Just like Kevin

Your best work yet G.
Which is naturally the most bittersweet thing of all.
No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16
I feel ya bro.
It was sad, but it was time. Or some such.

Kevin come back you can blame it all on me!
You know what I really love, I really love the Lacoste Sport Sweat suit man. The one that looks like the orange that's the same color as fruit loop orange! Houses like clovers, houses like clovers whatever that man says! Twinkle, Stars, Diamonds, Emeralds. We got every color bruh! It's fu@#in crazy man. This fool walked up to me the other day, and was like blood, where did you get them at yo? What, you made them? I said, man we don't make nothin man! We don't make nothin man. We just make your girl give h%@d. When she sees these on sight. She never thought they come in size twelves man. I wear size twelves man!
awesome.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut

since we're all "sharing", this is the most effecting part of the article to me;
"It goes both ways," Martin said by phone shortly after the trade. "Sacramento gave me an opportunity. I was a late first-round pick. I could have been playing overseas. I assumed they still loved me. I was the ‘Golden Child’ – that’s what Corliss Williamson used to say. I guess that’s the sad part.
and I SO do not know how to use block quotes…
Sound the trumpets, Raise the drawbridge, and drop the Oldsmobile
Type-out the quote, then highlight it and hit the "quote" button

Ahh, will do next time.
Much obliged!

This leaves me feeling sad, angry, and confused.
I feel sad for Kevin, but I also can’t help feeling that he is at least partially responsible for this. His action/ inaction at the Celtic’s game I thinks sums up his lack of effort on his part to seize the moment. I can’t help but wonder, if he has deliberately been his own undoing, here in Sacramento. I think his actions show that he wanted to be traded. He got his wish.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
Kevin looked pretty happy yesterday sitting on the bench in the fourth quarter (after having been told of the trade).
He was smiling a lot, if that’s any consolation.
