The season started out so well, showing the potential of the young Sacramento Kings, but after an exciting start, we have reached a lull period. Talk naturally turns to free agency and the NBA draft. If you read any analyst on ESPN, they will tell you that no top tier free agent would consider signing with the Kings...but to me, this is ludicrous. No matter what, the Kings will nab a very good lottery pick, with the possibility of grabbing super freak John Wall. If the Kings got John Wall, why wouldn't King James build an empire in Sacramento? Think about this. Wall, Evans, James, Greene, Casspi, Thompson, Hawes...the list goes on. That would give the Kings a super young, ultra talented core that could contend for 10+ years. Some may be concerned about a lack of ball to go around, but lets look at the players: Wall is a pass first point guard, Tyreke is a proven passer, albeit, more of a scorer, and LeBron is the best passing wing the game has ever seen. What team in the league could keep up with them? What team in the league could score on them? The pesty Wall, solid Evans, LeBron speaks for himself, Donté Greene who is a fabulous defender, and anyone at the 5 (maybe even Camby with the MLE?).
Why would LeBron be against joining a team with 2 other stars? Why choose to play with Bosh or Wade when he could potentially play with Evans AND Wall. The trifecta would be terrifying. For all those who think that Sacramento isn't a big enough market for LeBron, think about the legacy he could have there. Multiple championships, playing in the loudest arena for the best fans (when the team is moderate to good), saving the Kings from moving cities, and being the King James, King of the Sacramento Kings.
I am not saying that this is a likely scenario, because it does ride a lot on the Kings landing Wall (though it could work with a big man like Cousins too, not as well obviously). But, why is it so "impossible" as analysts love to say? If the Kings do land Wall, then the best destination for any free agent who truly wants to win championships is to play in Sacramento.
