For the Kings, the tired debate over whether Evans is a point guard, an off-guard, a point-forward or an offensive generalist is immaterial. Positional fundamentalism is a thing of the past. The challenge for Sacramento will be moving the ball enough in the half court to get easy opportunities. It doesn't matter where that playmaking comes from, so long as the good looks materialize.

I read this earlier and thought it was pretty spot on
Between Tyreke and Beno we get enough points, assists, and rebounds to match up with several back courts in this league. Spencer also has some nice passing ability as well. If we can get a total of 15 assists per game from the three of them I’d be pretty happy with that

That would be awesome, and in theory
very doable.

Agreed that Tyreke and Beno team up quite well together.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
..."an offensive generalist"
So, he generally gets 20/5/5
OR
he is the General on offense!
AND….
generally speaking ROY is a lock!

I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16
Yep
Sounds like what I said, and got ripped by Rik Smitz for before the post disappeared. It doesn’t matter what you call him. All that matters are results.

yup yup.

I don't understand why it has taken a full season for someone to come up with this
but my vote is that this is his official name, next to Havoc. It’s perfect!

Wow, getting nit picky about a throw away joke. Why?
So, by your criteria, it shouldn’t be USA, it should be USoA. Leaving out articles when making an acronym is acceptable.

The ONLY downside of this
is that if the Kings ever decide Tyreke ISN’T a PG, the nickname becomes useless.

Jeez
So positionality doesnt matter: ‘How could a player even be a position anyways…?’
Well positionality may not be a ‘real thing’ but it helps us discuss basketball dynamics. With Tyreke acting as PG in a lineup, we are generally deficient in playmaking, so we might be well served in not thinking of him as a PG. Especially if a player does much better when you put playmaking PG next to him, he is probably NaPG.
This is how we USE basketball terms. Right?
I fail to see how Beno is your playmaking PG
by VenomySnicket on Feb 27, 2010 1:59 PM PST up reply actions
Good point
I mean to say that when he is next to Beno he is better off than next to Martin—and I attribute that to Beno being the better playmaker.
Yes. Martin NaPlaymaker
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
Assist Rates
Assist rates are a good way of measuring playmakin-ness, I figure:
Beno – 23.5
Reke – 19.9
Martin – 11.4
It does matter.
Tyreke as SG , the Kings need a better PG than Beno….
No ball movement if the Tyreke has the ball in his all the time…
Not just the jump shot…Tyreke needs to work on the catch and shoot…
Tyreke driving to the basket and then doing a 360 or 180 to find somebody to throw the ball
to in the backcourt is not ball movement.

The Houston Martin's are in Utah
Kevin’s completely on fire, 12 points in the first quarter. Unfortunately for the Rockets, Deron Williams got let out of the Evans prison from last night and has 18!?! first quarter points.
What we've got here is, failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.
I'm at Dream shake too, watching Speed

Doesn't sound like Deron is hurt too badly!
