So, what did you guys think of Barrett and Rice tonight?

MM is just making fun of me cuz I posted it 4 times by accident.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16

Just a friendly joke.

Hell, that was one of the highlights of the second thread tonight.

You rock, pookey. I really mean it.

Sometimes lucky is better than good.

And I don’t sweat that stuff. Life is too short MM. Have fun at the game on Sunday.

Wow

That sucked… Lot’s of happy Blazer’s fans at the Arena. Looks like a bunch of them RV pooled down. At least it was a good game for someone.

by OrangeLazarus on Mar 12, 2010 9:49 PM PST reply actions

I spoke with some of them

They came down for the Dubs game and then across for the Kings game. Enthusiastic and loud bunch, but not douchey.

Definitely not douchey

Looked like a fun trip for them! Maybe when the Kings improve we can start doing the same thing.

by OrangeLazarus on Mar 12, 2010 11:01 PM PST up reply actions

no rivalry = no douchey

wait a couple years till the Kings and Blazers start playing each other in the playoffs

by Pollard4LIfe on Mar 12, 2010 11:24 PM PST up reply actions

Agree to disagree to a degree

I have seen L*kers and Warriors and Cavaliers and Celtics fans show up this year at ARCO and be douchebags of a major degree. Do we have a rivalry with Boston or Cleveland? Hell, there were even some major d-bag Hornets fans at a game earlier this year.

Certainly, a playoff atmosphere will change things. What won’t change is the fact that the Blazers fans that I run into at Kings games put these other fans to shame.

Westphal talking about Nocioni right now

He said there just aren’t enough minutes to go around. I don’t think there is any ill will there.

yeah, unlike Kenny though

Noce has plenty left in the tank, he’s in a unfortunate position.

And will be alot less content then Kenny was about not playing.

In fact, if I was him, I’d likely be fuming on the bench.

The guy’s a fighter – you don’t tell him to lay on the ropes when people are swinging.

He hates sitting, and he hates losing

How do you think he’s dealing with sitting while the team is losing?

There are simply better players on the team.

If he was given a "play the young guys" edict, there wouldn't be.

Noce’s in a weird situation, I’m pretty terrified about this turning into a giant fireball.

Now he is like a kid in a candy store, pulling them down.

Well it is Friday night.

And the game was pretty forgettable. And nobody seems to want to share their opinions on Barrett and Rice were tonight.

Perhaps I will take my leave.

Coming from a Blazers fan

I gotta say even though the team is losing you guys are lucky to have Reke, which I’m sure you know.

The amount of ground he can cover with those long strides is amazing. He seems pretty much impossible to stop 1on1. His little spin move and backwards lay ins are fun to watch and look like they really frustrate defenders. Watching him it looks like he’s got what it takes to eventually develop a mid range game and when that happens I would not be shocked in the slightest to see him as around a 25/5/5 player. His combination of speed/size/strength/handles is something special.

I know he didn’t have a good game for his standards tonight but I have seen him a few times an am always impressed.

I used to love watching Kings games back when they were actually on tv, I hope Evans can lead you guys back to the playoffs soon.

by Bskey on Mar 12, 2010 10:09 PM PST reply actions

Thanks, Bskey

we appreciate the sentiment. However to hell with just the Playoffs. Been there. Done that. We won’t really be happy until we beat the Blazers in the Western Conference Finals.

(Whoever is our patsy in the Finals will be a bit of a letdown of course, but the victory parade down J Street will be sweet!)

I can go with that.

Sure, let’s scratch J Street and book the Capitol Mall.

Tomorrow my Pacific Tigers take on Long Beach State

Then it’s on to the Big West Tournament Finals.

From there, well, I feel pretty good about the boys making the Sweet 16… and of course once you’re in the Big Dance anything can happen!

This message brought to you by the same guy who just “Imagineered” the Kings into the Western Conference Finals next year.

Big West Tournament

Man, I used to call Big West games, which led me to grow a strong disdain for Long Beach State. Their traveling fans are jerks. Beat ’em, Kandimen.

I'm fine with this blowout

They simply had no answer for the Blazers. It’s nothing new. The Blazers have had the Kings number for a few years.

Bad Loss

But Reke’s back on pace for the 20/5/5. Points took a hit but he’s finally ahead of the pace on boards by 2.

I'm sure this was mentioned earlier....but....

Carl needs to teach Spencer how to set a pick…to improve efficiency in setting up plays, any plays involving Spencer setting picks above the free throw line should be edited out until he can lay a guy out.

And before it’s too late…have Tyreke go back to his old stroke, a little above the ears….
at this point it couldn’t hurt to see what happens…you don’t need to have the perfect stroke (ask Speed), you just need to perfect your stroke….
No more fade away shots above the free throw line please!!!
