Thank you Maurice, for setting the record straight!
It’s funny that the same day ESPN ranked Tyreke #2 He fuc#@ around and gets a tripple double! All Hail King Tyreke…..
You know what I really love, I really love the Lacoste Sport Sweat suit man. The one that looks like the orange that's the same color as fruit loop orange! Houses like clovers, houses like clovers whatever that man says! Twinkle, Stars, Diamonds, Emeralds. We got every color bruh! It's fu@#in crazy man. This fool walked up to me the other day, and was like blood, where did you get them at yo? What, you made them? I said, man we don't make nothin man! We don't make nothin man. We just make your girl give h%@d. When she sees these on sight. She never thought they come in size twelves man. I wear size twelves man!
yeah
and as soon as the game ended, NBA.com took the rankings down from their front page.
It was hilarious.

worried
I can’t help but think that the NBA is trying to hype up Curry for ROY over tyreke too much. Curry’s good but Tyreke should clearly be the ROY. The W’s have a worst record than the Kings and lately have gotten national airtime on TNT and espn. And its obvious Marc jackson and Breen were all over Curry’s d1ck last night! Of course curry is good and deserves the praise, not trying to take anything away from his play…. But you know how the NBA is! Steph curry is the son of professional athletes, well spoken, Obama light skinned and is a good image for the league, while reke does not have those characteristics. If Curry wins ROY over Reke, screw the nba! RekeRoy!!!

No need to worry
If Tyreke has the award locked up (which he does), then there’s not much more to say. Sports journalists know this, and they are hyping up Curry as a legit contender for the award so they have something interesting to talk about. As contrived as the story is, the Curry vs. Evans ROY race is really just good publicity for both teams.
I feel Curry is near his ceiling already.
I mean, what can he really improve on? He’s already a deadly shooter, has solid shot selection, great court vision, plays decent defense. He can only get stronger, but he’ll never be strong enough to have a post game or be an All-NBA defender.
Reke, on the other hand, has some glaring weaknesses that need to be corrected. He can actually expand on his body of work by improving his horrendous shooting, absolute lack of post game, shaky defensive principles, mediocre court vision. Being a dominant NBA player is highly dependent on being a supreme physical specimen, which Tyreke unquestionably is.
IMO, Reke has the much higher ceiling which he is nowhere close to reaching yet. Curry, on the other hand, seems to be almost at his ceiling already.
Screw you Knicks! LBJ to the Kings!!!
The real difference is that the Lakers will let Curry keep shooting
Where with Reke they can’t win the game as easily by giving him easy looks.
No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16
Exactly my thoughts
Curry can get slightly better and more savvy, but Tyreke has more areas he can and will improve on.
Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order and Originator of the "Brock Ness Monster".
I tend to agree with you that Reke has the higher ceiling...
but right when I keep thinking that Curry has probably leveled out, he keeps getting better.
I think that they are both going to have great careers, but with different styles of play.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
Duh,
I don’t know. What was the question again?
Tyreke will develop his jumper. Curry will never get to the rim like Reke.
Answer: REKE

Stephen Curry, Warriors: He can shoot with anyone and handles the rock and passes better than just about everyone thought he could at this level. If not for a slow start and Evans’ season-long brilliance, Curry wouldn’t have to settle for placing second.
Yuh, that’s the gist of it. It’s the Rookie of the Year award, not Rookie after January 1st award.

Evans vs. Curry
Pre draft predictions had Evans a freak hybrid Tony Parker(which holds some weight) And Curry? Looks to be having a solid few months, but I bet he still ends up being only an offensive threat. I mean christ, what happens when Reke figures out his jumper? Game over in this debate.
After reading Drew Packman’s (NBA Rookie Rankings) assertion that the current ROY was Curry. I wrote the following e-mail. Supprisingly he responded.
To: Packham, Drew
Subject: Wha???
Curry uh?
There have only been 3 players in history to average 20 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds a game. If my recollection serves me, I believe the other players to achieve this honor were Jordon, James and Robertson. Two Hall of Famers and one future Hall of Famer. In fact, probably 3 of the top ten players of all time. How many triple doubles has Curry gotten? Tyreke 25 blocks, Curry 14, Jennings 17. Defensively there simply is no contest. Curry is unquestionably good, but comparing the two is like comparing Stephen Jackson to Lebron James.
What happens when this guys develops a pull up jumper? Lights Out! As usual Sactown gets no respect!
Let the hater’s hate…………………
Thanks for your email.
First of all, I would vote for Tyreke Evans if I had to vote today and he will, barring a collapse, win ROY. My rankings are based on the overall season, but take into consideration recent play as well. Curry was coming off a pretty impressive month (Evans had a pretty solid month, too) and is truly coming into his own.
As for your question about how many triple-doubles Curry has had, the answer is 1, same as Evans. Curry has just missed several other times. Double-doubles Evans has 10 to Curry’s 8 (Collison and Gibson also have 10).
As for your defensive argument, it’s no surprise that Evans has more blocks. He’s bigger and more inclined to pick up blocks. Curry leads all rookies in steals with 119 to Evans’ 91 (1st and 2nd, respectively), so to say "no contest" is a stretch.
I’m well aware of the 20-5-5 statistic (I wrote about it back in December: http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/12/16/rookie.rankings/index.html
If you look through my archive, you’ll see I’ve given Evans plenty of respect. http://www.nba.com/news/features/archive/index.html
It’s going to be fun to watch this class grow.
Thanks again for the email (and reading),
Drew

freke..
is gonna win it. unless curry scores a 50 point game or a scary stat sheet like 35/22/13/5. i thought curry was a bust until i saw him play in that atlanta game. rekes celing is sky high with talent. all he need is a jumper. curry needs d, but his d aint that bad. i love reke and all and ima kings fan. but if you see curry play, hes a ball player. a steve nash with ray ray stroke. hes only going to get better too. as goes for reke also. but saying currys celing is near is kinda arrogant because hes only a rookie. im 28 now, and ive seen the young kobe, young lebron, even a middle/primed jordan..and i finally after 5 years i can say both these players have very high talent. i just think truthfully speaking, curry has the game for the ages. smooth, pure shooter, amazing court vision/passing, ball handling, and a high iq/feel for the game. it just seems to easy for him. rekes a wade/mini lebron. lets pray they take these two california teams on the rise necause im tired of hearing lakers lakers lakers. story short: both players are games are solid. time will only tell reke my boy tho!
