that Curry is the co-ed, and Evans is the chair?

i would much rather had tyreke

stephen is small and is a shooter with a great wing player in the back court. im tired of players that are skinny like martin. i want a player that can take some pounding by bigger player (which you cant really say that about tyreke since he is bigger than a lot of power forwards)
stephen seems like a player that will get injured, a lot like monta and kevin martin. that take the breath out of the team and is a wasted season when your best player is constantly injured. tyreke seems like a kobe type, a assasin. he wants to win more than anyone.

I mean, I was around for the old rivalry and I hated me some Kobe, but the guy is too damn good to disrespect, IMO. I guess the way he gets hated on is a testament to how good he is. Laker fans will someday feel the same way about Tyreke!

I can't believe that Curry v. Evans is even a debate

Frankly, it pisses me off. It’s not even close. Curry is not half the all around player that Evans is. He’s a nice shooter that can’t guard anybody. And he’s not even his team’s best player.

Evans has superstar written all over him and already has an aura of “winner” that pervades him.

The only trophy that Curry is taking home is the one given at the All Star 3 Point Shooting contest.

by Kusian on Mar 18, 2010 3:49 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah I agree and disagree..

Most say that Evans and Curry is a debate due to the way that Curry could probably play with absolutely ANYONE and still produce. The fact that ‘Reke and Speed didn’t mesh a whole lot leading to the trade of Speed is probably why people (right now at least) think it’s hard for teammates to feed off of the energy and ball-domination that comes with Evans style of play. But I agree, that it’s pretty obvious who will win ROY. And in time, Evans will have everything Curry has, with the exception of 3-point shooting efficiency, and more.

by ElRonToro on Mar 18, 2010 11:38 PM PDT up reply actions

This is why the ROY is still being discussed:
And in time, Evans will have everything Curry has, with the exception of 3-point shooting efficiency, and more.

The ROY is being judged on current performance not projected future performance.

I would like to think that Tyreke has the ROY locked up and I would have thought his triple-double would have ended any further discussion. But there are those in the Curry camp who feel otherwise. Personally, I believe that Tyreke will win it, but I have to admit that Curry has come on strong in recent months.

To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.

As a GSW fan...

I don’t know whether to agree with what you’re saying or not.
but…Evans will never have everything Curry has and vice versa. The NBA pedigree, control of tempo, ability to stop on a dime, quick dribble, superior court vision, the cool instinct etc. are some things that Evans cannot develop. Nobody can. To say Evans will have everything Curry has is like saying Curry will definitely grow to 6-6 220 in a couple years and will become as good of a slasher and be able to draw fouls as well.

Being a die hard Kings fan

I have to hate Kobe. But at the same time I have to respect him for the skill he has. His comment about Tyreke is on the money. Curry is a skinny little runt next to the beast Tyreke. Simple as that.

by KingsFan on Mar 18, 2010 4:38 PM PDT reply actions

yup

Tyreke can learn to shoot and dish better but Curry is probably as he’s going to be at the things he does. And, its unlikely he’ll add as much to his game as Tyreke will.

the best Curry can be is Steve Nash

I’d take that if I was a GS fan…the best Reke can be is 96% of Lebron…I’ll take that.

Minus a few more percentages.

Reke just doesn’t have freakish athleticism and high flying abilities of LeBron.

by russak on Mar 19, 2010 12:01 AM PDT up reply actions

Steve Nash is a 2X MVP and a future Hall of Famer

While it’s early, I don’t see that in yourng Mr. Curry’s future. Yes, he can shoot….really, really well. But his court vision and handles are not within seveal area codes of Steve Nash.

by Kusian on Mar 19, 2010 8:22 AM PDT up reply actions

have you seen him pass?

Curry has a lot of nice dimes and has really good court vision. I don’t know if he will be the next Nash and frankly, comparing him to Nash seems a bit unfair to Curry, but he is a good player.

by king4life on Mar 19, 2010 8:50 AM PDT up reply actions

agree with your analysis

He’s a nice player. Wouldn’t want him over Tyrke but would love to have him. Every team needs a guy who can stretch the defense and who really seems to understand the game well while possessing solid skills. I just don’t see him hitting Steve Nash superstar status.

by Kusian on Mar 19, 2010 8:54 AM PDT up reply actions

Curry = Bibby

Maybe he’ll be a little better, and I’m sure given the early hype surrounding him, he’ll be able to make some All-Star games (which Bibby deserved, but never got, IMO).

"If you told him to head-butt the wall, he would do it." -- Paul Westphal re: Brockness Monster.

by PhutureKings on Mar 19, 2010 12:21 PM PDT up reply actions

Curry is a much better passer than Mike

although he has already picked up Mike’s defensive skills. Time will tell wether he ever gets as clutch as Bibby was.
When I said Nash could be his upside, I meant , he may be able to get to 20 and 10

by ElRonToro on Mar 19, 2010 12:25 PM PDT up reply actions

You may be right

But remember, the young Bibster averaged over 8 dimes a game (and a 2.7/1 assist to turnover ratio) during his two full seasons in Vancouver. He was a pretty darn good passer when he was in a system that required him to initiate the offense.
