When you think about how many of these games come down to one shot, one possession, one turnover…picking the correct winning squad has more to do with luck than skill.
The one thing that kills you though is to lose a final eight or final four team in the first couple of rounds. If you can avoid that, you’re usually in good shape.

Interesting stat regarding Jennings and Tyreke and who has made their team better
Last year Mil was 34-48, already they have 36 wins, a two game improvement
The kings had 17 wins last year, so far this year 23 a 6 game improvement to date.
I know its not a drastic difference, and that the Bucks will probably have the greater difference at the end of the season, but thought it interesting since the support for Jennings is based off of Jennings making his team better and leading them to the playoffs. In all fairness though Jennings plays on a team that had twice our win total of a year ago, and in a weaker conference overall.
On a side note, very interested in what the Kings record would be if you had Tyreke and Bogut on this team.
I bet the Kings finish +10 though. Which really helps

improvement. Thinking about it again, not sure if the Bucks would be that much more an improvement either. Even if they win 45 games still only an 11 game improvement.

I wouldn’t go that far. More impressive in college in person that Patty Mills of Saint Marys if that helps though.
Definitely could see them in the Elite 8 thought. That team has range and shoot all night long. We dominated them here in San Diego for 36 minutes, only for them to go three crazy in the final 4 minutes and pull out a victory, when that team gets hot (Jimmer mainly) they can beat anyone. When the shots aren’t falling though they are easy to beat since they aren’t that quick or athletic. Very big though since they are all 24 years old going up against 19 year olds.

Why do they show the cheerleaders so often? They’re so annoying… and in such horrible outfits. I’m sure some guys like it, but would anyone seriously not watch if they didn’t dress like skanks? What would you guess the average age of people on here is? I’m semi-new so I don’t really know any posters…. Are they mostly around your age?

If you had to guess? Just curious. Most usernames don’t specifiy male or female, though obviously mine does.

I don’t know if I qualify as a “regular” but maybe I’m getting there. Haha. That’s crazy though. I also feel young here… I’m 21, and I’ve been watching the NBA for most of my list but have only really been into it for about 8 years or so, so I have way less insight and expertise than most people here.

Just the other day there was an entry on a blog I read where the writer posted two pictures of married couple ornaments. One was a white couple and was labeled as “Married Couple Ornament” (or whatever it was called). The other was a black couple, and was labeled “African-American Married Couple Ornament”, which once again presents the idea of white being the norm and anything else being “other”. So ridiculous.
I will say this
IMO it’s a much better environment now to raise small children, than it was when I was a kid. I think about the portrayals of most minorities on television and in the movies when I was young – it’s a miracle I’m not a Klan member.
Because to this day, I know I have to fight against a lot of the prejudices that were ingrained in me (not necessarily from my parents) from when I was young. I’m certain my daughter won’t have as difficult a time doing so.

There has definitely been an improvement in recent years. It’s just sad to me that so much racism, sexism and prejudice in general still exists…and not only does it exist, but it’s surprisingly mainstream.

Down here at SDSU we have a saying “Nothing kills the crowd like the SDSU dance team”. So no they don’t matter what so ever. But the boob tube will always go on. ITs like the Energizer bunny

No matter the sport or team or whatever, the scantily-clad, sexually dancing women are really frustrating to see. Most women I know (and a lot of the men too) just roll their eyes and would be much happier without them. I know cheerleaders drove me crazy in high school, with their obnoxiously recycled chants and everything. But they weren’t treated as sex objects so it wasn’t as bad…
But you know why the men are rolling their eyes right?
It’s because their women are with them.
I’ll bet you 95% of the StR group there tonight has their binoculars with them just for the timeouts.

They’re mostly single, and have no interest in any of the girls there. Haha. I just fail to see why anyone would be interested in brief periods of girls dancing. It’s not like you’re going to go home with any of them. And you’re at a game, not alone in your room with porn. Haha. So what purpose does it serve?

And I’m sort of confliced on strip clubs. On the one hand, they creep me out and the type of guy who regularly goes to them are usually pretty pathetic. On the other hand, women can sometimes make pretty decent money off of male stupidity. So I’m a bit conflicted, but for the most part they gross me out.

Yah the lost the novelty after I went for my 18th birthday, and left high school. Just a damn money trap. True point though, my best friends sister was one and she made bank. As long as it doesn’t bother them it doesn’t bother me. Still won’t support them though considering they are 100 times as rich as me lol.

I hated high school cheerleaders too
but its cause they thought they were sex objects like their pro counterparts, when most were just nice from a far, but far from nice.
You must love watching Cowboys games then. The dallas cheerleaders are the gold standard of wearing not clothing and being sex objects.

But I’m not positive why. They’re just one of those franchises that bug the hell out of me. But yeah, I’m not at all a fan of NFL cheerleaders either. They don’t even pretend to dance. Their entire purpose is to show as much cleavage as possible while waving pompoms. So irritating.

Watch more baseball, they haven’t tarnished their game with skantly clad women. I always thought that to be interesting. Really only basketball and football have cheerleaders. Most sports either don’t need them, or see it as a waste of money.

But I really can’t stand baseball. I think you have to grow up with baseball to love it, and I didn’t. My dad is a big football and basketball fan, and my mom is also into basketball, so I didn’t grow up with baseball.
They have cheerleaders for baseball, here in Korea
in fact they have cheerleaders when they open a new business. Not really cheerleaders, more like “Come to the new Restaurant girls.”

My roommate did grow up with it though and he is an avid fan. Through him I can sometimes get into it just cause we relay our sports off each other (he explains players in Baseball to me, and I explain Basketball players to me). However going to a baseball game is always a fun day in my mind, baseball parks are awesome.
