Let me calm everyone down...

Let me be the first to calm everyone down.  Tyreke Evans will still win ROY even if he is out for the season, as there are only 14 or so games left, and Jennings nor Curry can overtake the entire year's work of Tyreke Evans, period.  It won't be even close in the vote.  As Kobe has already stated:  "Curry is a phenomenal player, but Tyreke is a grown ass man."  A man among boys in the ROY race ladies and gentlemen.  Man among boys.  Thank you.

Im not even worried about that

I wanna make sure this concussion thing doesn’t haunt him for a long time. and that his jaw’s not broken. Screw the trophy, I want Reke healthy!

Gee I was so worried about Reke's ROY that I forgot he had a broken jaw!

Let me calm everyone down...

Chicken Little is running around screaming, “The sky is falling, Tyreke broke his jaw, he got a concussion, and is endanger of losing the ROY competition.”

First, we don’t even know whether he is out for the remainder of the season, at this point. Second, we do not know if he has broken his jaw. Third, if he did get a concussion, it doesn’t sound like he lost consciousness for any period of time.

To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.

there is no accepted definition of concussion

I found this one:
a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain, induced by traumatic biomechanical forces. NeuroSurgical Focus: concussion typically involves temporary impairment of neurological function which quickly resolves by itself, and that neuroimaging normally shows no gross structural changes to the brain as the result of the condition Kinda of like the decision to go to ARCO with the StR crew.

yeah, I am starting to worry

my editing skills have take a serious falter. Kind of like or Kinda like not both.

I have done some extra research on this subject and hanging with the StR crew is more of a cortical cognitive dysfunction. I asked ms. bte and she concurs; warped beyond repair.

I think it was less the StR crew

No, no -

I meant “Kinda like? More like, xactly like.” My bad. That said, I would go along with whatever ms. bte says. Like Mrs. section214, she is lovely, intelligent, and probably the last person on this planet that you want to cross.

oh and about being on her bad side: certainly no “dog”, I use ms. bte as my attack doberman.

You don't need to lose consciousness for it to be a concussion.

In fact, if it is bad enough for you to lose consciousness, it is pretty major. They test your reflexes, and if there is a lag anywhere, then it means that a concussion was probable. For an athlete, it’s especially telling, considering that their “twitch” muscle reactions are usually phenomenal.

What I’m saying is, TAKE YOUR TIME TYREKE!

I thought Reke walking off the floor was a very good sign.

You misunderstood me.
if he did get a concussion, it doesn’t sound like he lost consciousness for any period of time.

I did not say that because he had not lost consciousness that he did not have a concussion. I was pointing out that he had not lost consciousness, then it wasn’t as serious as if he had. I apparently did not explain myself very well, as I assumed that most people would understand what I meant.

question

If you get knocked out, ie lost consciousness. Does this mean you have suffered a concussion?

NaFakeQuestion…

by chenp22 on Mar 23, 2010 4:47 AM PDT up reply actions

Most likely.

When you get hit, the force exerted move not only your head, but also your brain. Your brain keeps moving, then ends up hitting itself inside your head. It is a lot like getting a bruise to your brain. The more force exerted, like in a car accident, then more energy is exerted on your brain when it hits. That is why you lose consciousness.

To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.

Nothing like unbiased opinions. Curry has the most rounded game. That is undsiputed fact. Tyreke is great at one thing, driving to his right and he is a strong finisher. Howver he has zero outside game which will limit his game. Curry is the complete package.

by StinkyFingers on Mar 21, 2010 11:19 AM PDT reply actions

And this is an unbiased opinion?

Evans has more assists per game, a better assist/turnover ratio, has scored and rebounded more. Evans certainly needs to improve on his outside game, but his ability to finish at the rim is something that Curry will likely never master.

Curry is a fine player, but to say that he is the more rounded player simply becuause he shoots a better jumper than Evans is ludicrous.
