how many moral victories can a team take

whats are moral record right now?

I'm not sure we get a moral victory for this one
the comeback was cute and all, but those possessions down the stretch were horrific.
Maybe a moral overtime?

Take the total number of games in the season
- Subtract the blowout losses (Whatever the point definition is for a blowout)
- Subtract the losses where fans use cuss words against the opponents
- Subtract the losses where fans use cuss words against our team players
- Whatever is remaining is the moral victory total for the team

I'd say this was a successful road trip
1-2 against OKC, Rox, & Dallas. I’ll take that.

Not bad at all. Actually, very encouraging that the team seems to be improving.

It's because Tyreke, Beno and Cisco only combined for 42 points
if they’d gotten 50 and made up for the loss of Kevin, we’d have gone to overtime.

No, the combined points to make 50 came from 4 players, not three.

What do you mean that I fell in the casm?
You were the one who said if they had gotten 50, we’d have gone to overtime. Those 50 points came from Tyreke 17.4, Martin 19.8, Udrih 8.3, and Garcia 4.15. You are only combining 3 players for 42. You need to add another player to fill in for Martin. If you do, then we would have won the game, which we did not. So, the loss had nothing to do with trading Martin.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.

Reke needs
384 points, 77 assists and 108 rebounds. 20 games to go.
The Reke-O-Meter will take a while to update. I’d guess.

Updated. Assists and Points shouldn’t be a problem, Rebounds will be.

I don't think he can afford to have another game much under 5
if we want to keep the 20/5/5 alive. He’ll probably have to get a couple 10+ rebound games. Conserted effort on the boards Reke!

I wonder if averaging 4.95 rebounds will be enough for the stat heads
Since right now he’s averaging 4.85 and it says 4.9. If that’s the case, he only needs 105 rebounds.

It was meant to happen
We played a very good first half, especially that first quarter. It just happens to be that the Mavs came out playing like the 2nd-3rd best team in the West that they are. They forced TOs and the Kings just couldn’t respond.
On this one, I give the Mavs a lot of credit, which in turn speaks volumes to how the Kings played
"Children want what they want when they want it." ... Andy Sims
Was anyone surprised that we went small?
When Haywood went out at the 4 minute mark of the 1st, Nowitzki was the only Mav with a rebound and he only had 2. For the Kings, Hawes had 5, Landry had 2, and Casspi had 1. Once we went small to match the Dallas lineup we lost our rebounding edge and our dominence in the paint. We ended up out rebounding Dallas by 5 and outscoring them by 2 in the paint.
We have to learn how to attack the zone. Which we didn’t do well.

I wasn't surprised, but I was a little disappointed
PW always seems willing to have the matchups dictated to him, its kind of odd.
Part of it is, Hawes isn’t a low post threat, even against a little guy, so having him in isn’t really a mismatch on offense when another team goes small, and he can then be a liability on defense depending on the matchups.
And we don’t generally attack zones well with Hawes off the floor, that should get better with experience though.
What we've got here is, failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach.
Even when he was on the floor
I don’t remember going to him for the offense. A lot of our TOs were caused by that zone.
In terms of matching up, I thought the 3 guard lineup of the Mavs were really changing the tempo of the game so it looked like a good move. I can’t remember the specific lineups so I could be wrong about te players out there when we decided to go small.
"Children want what they want when they want it." ... Andy Sims
I thought our 3 guards still didn't have the speed to match Dallas'
and, if we had maintained the rebound advantage the Dallas’ guard wouldn’t have had the same fast break advantage.
I’m not saying it was the wrong thing to do, going small to match up, just that it didn’t work out as well as PW would have hoped. And, I wouldn’t have gone to it as quickly. I probably would have had Ime and Beno racing back on defense after every shot and have Dallas prove they could beat us on the break first.

Hawes was weak matched up against Najera
Numbers didn’t tell the story. JT would have been good out there and I think PW had too short a leash with Greene and Casspi, both of whom struggled a bit offensively but who made things happen.
Agreed on the zone though, a little ball movement would have gone a long way.
Greene has been rushing everything again.
I still think he was at the heart of the rotation fiasco that got Spencer benched.
Casspi and Tyreke are playing on dead legs. It might be time to put Noc back in the starting lineup as long as he’s told to run some offense before he starts jacking up shots.
If Spencer is only going to get the ball 17 ft from the rim, yes I’d rather see JT. Getting Spencer the ball while moving thru the paint or just inside the FT line and I’ll take Spencer. Spencer at the FT line to break up the zone, is the best option we have.

young team playing young
hats off to Noce he was the dynamo that led the comeback. He gets the Kings crown tip (the equivalent of a Tommy point).
The cataylyst for the Mavs was Roddy Beubois. He made the game close and the vets played into the win. Impresiive performance for the rookie.
The Kings need to learn to play 4 quaters, 48 minutes. And an inside presence which will come in time. sometime. soon I hope.
Roddy Beubois was very impressive tonight.
To be the best, you have to do your best. Otherwise, you are only second-rate.
Beaubois was off the hook.
Lightening in a bottle with that one. Averaging almost a point a minute, 22 points in 24 minutes, shooting at 64% and 50% from the 3 point line. Damn nice rookie!
I always wondered how Beaubois got stuck on the bench
after he opened the season so strong. He made the most out of his minutes as a starter, and his teammates were raving about him. And then they had their injured players back, and he got a long string of DNP-CD. Kudos to him for keeping his confidence. Too bad he had to go off against us….
Dunking Dutchman
Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, now Caron Butler, before Josh Howard
Mavs have an experience veteran squad. Rookie goes last and ego wise others get the start ahead of him as these guys have been to All-Sar game.
His time will come, he needs seasoning, this is a great oppurtunity for him to learn. He is the youngest guy on that old team at 22. They have one other guy (Barea?) who is less than 28.

On a side note...
LA Fakers got a serious smackdown. Held to 36% shooting and 17% 3-point shooting by Charlotte. Only had 83 points to Charlotte’s 98. Nice job Bobcats!

Watched the game on replay
This team is well moral victories but this road trip showed a much improved team team. They are playing much better team ball, we were in a position to win the game which I didn’t expect. TO’s, uninspired free throws and a third quarter collapse prob ably cost us the game.
Carl Landry has made a big difference, the guys look like they are having fun and they are out of the dis-spirited funk they were in earlier in the year. I thought the whole road trip was encouraging especially the ugly win in Houston which after tonight is looking pretty good. I was expecting a blow out and overall the Kings played better than I expected.

WOW! Just came back from the airport!
Did not expect Noce to play, much less 25mins, after that string of DNP-CD’s.
Im doubly glad he had a good outing, 15 pts in 6-11FG and 2-4 3PT, 6 rebs, 1 assist, 1 steal and deent D on Nowitzki. Maybe this earns him more PT in the next game.
Really wish we won tho. :-)
There can only be one Noce!
Well he was suspended the last two games.

Nah, he got 2 DNP-CD's in last week which sanwiched a 5 min outing...
before he was even suspended. He was basically at the end of the bench, coming off way after McGuire and Dorsey.
There can only be one Noce!
He really played with a lot of heart. I was impressed.
I find it pretty funny watching him defend Dirk, but he did a good job. It probably would’ve been a blowout if it wasn’t for Nocioni.
He used to defend Dirk when he was with Chicago.
Tyrus Thomas would start out on Dirk, then Noce, then sometimes Deng.
There can only be one Noce!
Noc played well
would like to see him take up some of the slack left by the wall hitting rookies.

Omri Casspi almost redeemed himself a little with those two putbacks early in the fourth. Then he started trying to play point guard again… oh well, Tyreke has been making some really bad decisions late in the game as well.
Omri gives plenty of ammo
to the opinion, which I agree with, that he’s not a guard, he’s a small forward.
