Very nice 214.
However it is nearly time for me to depart.
No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16
Then comes the Moral Victory Parade.
Which is even less fun that it sounds.
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
Have you been to one of those Moral Victory P's?
Speeches about almost pulling out the win, and lottery positioning makes for a crazy crowd reaction.
& damn that marcus Camby...
why does he hafta have such long arms?

If he's going to do that in the playoffs,
I’m glad that Portland landed him.

Portland wreaking havoc on LA would be cool for those who dislike the Lakers greatly....

Yep -
And I just like Portland. I have a serious man crush on Roy, and you have to respect how this team has not yielded to all of their injuries – and there have been a ton of them. Good fans, great SBN site. If I have to pick a team to root for in the “other” NBA, I’m taking Portland.

Portland's a good music city as well...nice venues.

They have as many injuries as Hou and still they hammer away at the NBA.

Even better - Batum will drive Kobe insane.
But what am I saying? We need the Rockets to make it. We can keep PDX and SAS can implode. How about that one?
Significant gravitas shortfall expected in 2010.
Batum against Kobe would be funny....
& Houston gave the lakers a good fight before….i dunno ‘tho’ with the big guy out..I wish Adelman & Houston luck, they’ll need it.
& how about Sac’s Matt barnes on mamba in that orlando game; that was good….no love lost there!

I loved Barnes the other night
So awesome the way he refused to back down from Kobe. And obviously Kobe got away with more than Barnes did, but that just makes his intensity even better.

Agreed
Of course, that’s assuming the Lakers are the top seed in the West, and with the way they’ve been playing lately, and the fact that Dallas is on a crazy hot streak, I’m not so sure it’s a given. It most likely is, but maybe not. I’ll cross my fingers for that one…haha.
Portland is a cool team. I like them a lot. Brandon Roy is so good and seems like a good guy. I’ll definitely be rooting for them in the playoffs.
& Portland's well coached.
probably one of the best defensive teams in the league…no surprise with nate McMillan as their coach, he was quite a good defender in his day.

I'm sure we can agree this was a game that both teams played hard
But the Blazers ultimately had a response whenever the Kings started to rally, or the Kings got fatigued in the runs. And we all like the Blazers.

That would mean being able to embed flash videos, which would open these forums up for many forms of attack because Adobe bought a shitty codebase and now can't do anything about it.

I couldn’t be more stoked that Apple keeps giving it a public middle finger.

Easier to monitor fanshots than comments
Basically what would end up happening is that some jerkoff spammer will post a comment that has a little flash image that doesn’t look like it’s there in that comment but will instead cover the whole page in advertising. After ten of these the Gods will decree no more flash. So the devs at SBNation are saving themselves the trouble of all the people bitching about how they can’t embed flash videos anymore.

tied in the fourth
The Kings fourth quarter offense was so stagnant. It seems the first pass in our frontcourt sets takes so long into the shot clock. Then team-mates rush and the offense becomse the opposite of the Princeton…alas.
Landry’s consistency is a Kings godsend.
Who will be the better player in 2-3 years at the 3: Greene, Casspi, Garcia?
Impressed with the Kings first half rebounding efforts/results.
In two years, the top teams in the west are Ok. City, Portland and the…KINGS!
The next 6 months are crucial to extended long term Kings success
Reke is definitely a top 10 guard in the NBA by now.
If the west wasn’t as cutthroat at the guard position as it is, he’d be a lock for the all-star game next year. I’m glad he’s classified as a pg, because with the progression in his skill and his potential starpower, he’d definitely outshine our B-Roy in a couple of years. If I wasn’t a die-hard blazer fan, Reke could convince me to bandwagon the rising Kings.

I seriously love the Kings.
Evans is a bad-ass, reminds me of Roy in a bizzaro sort of way.
It’s funny that Evans and Caspi were both super high on Portland’s draft board. They just didn’t have any chance to land them. One more good draft for the Kings and things are going to be very bright indeed.
by Nick Van Excellent on Mar 9, 2010 11:16 PM PST reply actions
I think Evans will be better than Roy.
Right now he’s averaging 20ppg on 46% shooting, granted mostly at the cup. But you factor in that he’s shooting a paltry 26% from the 3pt, once he’s picked that up to a respectable 35% or so he will be unstoppable. I don’t know how good Evans is at defense, but I have a feeling that will improve slowly as well. Him and Collison are the best pgs of this draft.
"B-Roy is the best shooting guard I have played against"

I don't think Evan's will be better than Roy, but that's just splitting hairs.
They’re both terrific.

Can't really argue with that,
"B-Roy is the best shooting guard I have played against"

roy has made many a clinching clutch jumper....
that’s just not tyreke’s style
very true....but roy is no slouch at getting to the basket either
Roy and Evans are both great player…Roy had a much more mature all-round came when he came into the league but Roy also played many years of college ball.
Tyreke most definitely has the higher ceiling due to his build and strength but as it has been said so many times…it’ll depend on the development of his jumper.
If Tyreke had Roy’s jumper he’d be in the Lebron/Wade/Kobe category.
Nice mustang
but it has made him very predictable lately. He needs to learn who he can & can’t do that against. I do want him to atleast try first & not go into games thinking “I can’t go to the basket on that guy”. He did learn a little last night about Marcus Camby. I like how he drove & dished to Cisco for the open 3. Too bad he missed it. It could have been a game changer.
I love beating dead horses.
Evans is better than BRoy is right now. This is true. (Blazer fan here) BRoy hasn't been playing
very well for awhile now. I’d say…pre NBA ALL STAR was the last time I saw Roy really play like he can.
Was at the game...
It broke my heart in 2006 to see a once proud franchise reduced to a half capacity crowd @ the Rose Garden. Tonight it was full, and LOUD! But the fans were cool, respectful, and politely kidded me about my CWebb jersey. Gives me hope for our franchise. Stay classy, Portland.
We're nice to anyone not wearing a Jazz or Lakers jersey

Yep, and KP stole Bayless
Out from under Petrie.
here is one bright spot
Kings held the blazers to 15 in the fourth quarter. Man, kings need to start winning some of these games….
Phil Jackson, after treatment for a kidney stone "When the anesthesiologist leaned over me, he said "We named your kidney stone Kobe because it's not passing."
We had lots of good shots lip out
Early in your run.
You are a well coached team, you’ll get there. We know what it’s like to be young/promising but lose lots of games. Believe in your team, they’ll be rising.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
Kings held the second string to nothing I think...for about 7mins. Nate had the 2nd string in except for LA.
Nate McMillan is a MASTERmind when it comes to substitutions. Be happy you have Westphal!
The nice thing to think about...
When LA is fading and degrading both Portland and Sac will be kicking their butts all over the court. Another year for Portland and maybe two for Sac.
Next to the Reke-o-meter can we get a countdown until...
the return of the Brockness Monster? I have a feeling we’ll go on some sort of winning streak when he returns.
In my heart, the Kings were the rightful NBA champs in 2002
Definitely low point in NBA history — they got desperate after losing Jordan and losing ratings, and put the fix in for the F*ckers to try to get ratings up. Anyone remember how hard Kobe elbowed Bibby in the face in the WCF without getting a call?
Was almost as bad as Shaq knocking Sabonis over with his blubber y arse — and Sabonis getting the foul, in the 2001 WCF.
I generally think that the NBA is clean these days, and has historically been clean, but those post-Jordan, Laker years were very dirty, very rigged.
actually kobe “got a call” on that one iirc

to me the real travesty is the big sewer being mentioned in the same breath with the all time great big men like wilt, kareem, hakeem, even the admiral when his greatest offensive move (by far) was the uncalled offensive foul (or its first cousin – the defender just trying to avoid being ran over being called for “blocking”)

Good game guys.
Some of the things your rookie can do is amazing.. He reminds me a ton of Roy, when Roy first came into the league he couldn’t shoot a lick and got to the basket at will. Now he’s developed a very respectable 3 pointer and is one of the best in mid range jumpers. If Evans jump shot develops like Roy’s did he will average like 30 a game easy.
Lover of everything Batum.
