by Christina_J on Apr 10, 2010 8:38 PM PDT reply actions

aaaaaahhhhhh Jungle Juice

if it helps I live a block from San Diego State and don’t have plans on a saturday night….usually just pre game (get near black out) and wonder the streets to I stumble into a party with a Keg thats not tapped.

by Gilo424 on Apr 10, 2010 8:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Hahaha

I have some friends who lived really close to SDSU and they could easily find things to do on no notice whatsoever.

And it was supposed to be Pink Panties (or Panty Droppers, whatever you wanna call em) but for a variety of reasons it turned into a more Jungle Juice-like concoction. Delicious though and perfect for our drinking games. Haha. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a good house party, and it was awesome.

by Christina_J on Apr 10, 2010 8:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Thats cause they didn't know how to make Pink Panties (nor do I)

and well Jungle Juice just happens when you have nothing but juice and a bunch of hard liquor.

by Gilo424 on Apr 10, 2010 8:49 PM PDT up reply actions

Well, we thought we knew how

It’s not hard. A handle of vodka, 12 beers, and pink lemonade concentrate (and maybe lemon-lime soda). But my friend bought limeade instead, and just juice, not concentrate which is what you need. So it tasted too strongly of beer and we added some orange juice and crushed pineapple (which resulted in little pieces of pineapple floating around) and it became closer to Jungle Juice. Real Pink Panties are amazing though. It just makes a LOT.

by Christina_J on Apr 10, 2010 8:52 PM PDT up reply actions

I got so lost, and yet so intrigued to drink more during this read

Never tried a handle of vodka and a 12 pack together. Done Coca Cola and Beer though, this German exchange student said its huge over there, although he also said that Smirnoff is high class vodka in germany.

by Gilo424 on Apr 10, 2010 8:54 PM PDT up reply actions

You HAVE to try it

It’s so good. It sounds awful, but somehow it works. I’m not even a big drinker and rarely have more than a couple of drinks a night, but I make an exception for Pink Panties. You need a big holder of some kind (we used a plastic bin) and you just mix it all up. I think you’re supposed to have like 6 cans of the lemonade concentrate and you add the water too to make it less strong. But it’s still pretty strong and it’s really delicious. Perfect for big parties and great for drinking games. We played some King’s Cup and Fuck the Dealer. Haha.

my buddy has a water cooler thing at his house, and we fill it up with jungle juice from time to time.

by Gilo424 on Apr 10, 2010 9:01 PM PDT up reply actions

Nice

I got screwed in Dealer, but it was only for the last like 6 cards so not such a big deal. My friend was dealer for the first 18 or so. Haha. Thankfully I didn’t lose King’s, but as we were all drinking the Jungle Juice-type drink it wasn’t that big of a deal. Just a lot of it. But one guy did a ridiculous waterfall. Almost killed the rest of us. Haha.

by Christina_J on Apr 10, 2010 9:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Haha i'm usually that waterfall guy

It sucks when you can tell your the one that is going to get fucked in dealer. Picking your seat vs who is dealing is very key. although first 18 would suck hard. The person next to him should of been purposely messing up just so they don’t get effed.

by Gilo424 on Apr 10, 2010 9:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah

It was pretty funny. We weren’t REALLY playing by the rules though. Like, if my second guess was 8 and it was a 4, I didn’t take 4 drinks. Just one, because it was early in the night. Haha. But it was a big drink so there’s that. But ya know, gotta pace yourself. And be OK to play beer pong later. Haha.

by These Refs Suck on Apr 10, 2010 8:49 PM PDT reply actions

I don't know if it's a slap in the face.

If anything it’s a show of respect. We came back from 30+ earlier this year and we just went on a run. It’s not even that big of a lead. I’d expect them to bench the starters if they were up 30 or so but not at anything less than 20 still in the 3rd quarter.

by jveezy on Apr 10, 2010 8:51 PM PDT up reply actions

Agreed

They know we could go on a run, so why take the risk? I assume the starters will rest at the start of the 4th for a while and if they maintain the lead they might not play at all in the 4th, but I like to think of it as a sign of respect too.

Soccer balls now are ridiculously light.

I mean, in the good old days (like before 96) if you tried to head the ball, you’d be left with ringing in your ears and a sore forehead.

Now, you make minimal contact and it flies 20 yards, way off target, and you’re wondering if you even made contact with the ball.

Absolutely

We had a lot of good drives to the basket not just stopped by the Mavs but flat out wrestled away from us. With the way they shoot they can easily turn those turnovers into points and that’s a 4-5 point swing. And they do this often. If they can do that against the good teams in the West half as many times as they did tonight against us they can definitely win the West.

by jveezy on Apr 10, 2010 9:08 PM PDT up reply actions

Definitely

I honestly think the Lakers are overrated. They seem lazy and not at all like a team. Of course, they have the edge in that the NBA wants them in the Finals, but I don’t think they’re as good as everyone says. They’ve played horribly for the last few weeks, which is great. Dallas is a great team though and they could definitely win the West.

by Christina_J on Apr 10, 2010 9:08 PM PDT up reply actions

I don't think the NBA has a mandate that the Lakers make the Finals.

But I do agree they are not at the top of their game right now.

Well, not a mandate

But ratings would be higher with Kobe in the Finals than most players. Obviously NBA executives would want a Kobe-LeBron Final just for the ratings. I just hope someone beats LA. I don’t care who.
