The Mavs are dangerous

and Dirk is a baaaaaaddd German. Good for them… bad for the Kings tonight. Hopefully Monday we can welcome Kevin with a win. A Kings win, that is

Both teams' PGs lead rebounding for respective teams.

Kidd with 10, Tyreke with 8.

Brutal game, but I love Reke even more. Some players come to the league NBA-ready. Reke came All-Star ready.

Tanking? I don't know what you're talking about, tanking. I'm just losing more efficiently.

by elfboy_ on Apr 10, 2010 9:49 PM PDT reply actions

Landry had a great game.. Well played sir..

Tyreke was his usual self. JT had some good hustle points.
Dallas executed better. End of story

Overall

I’m OK with this game. I like Dallas a lot (mostly Dirk) and would love for them to represent the West. Love that Tyreke only needs 24 points over 2 games to get his averages, and hope he gets it against Houston because I’ll be at the game (yay!).

The bottom line is that the better team won. Dallas is totally clicking and playing great basketball, unlike certain other teams in the West. I can’t wait to watch them in the playoffs.

Just got back from the game

Mavs couldn’t seem to miss many shots. Kings seemed to miss way to many. Seemed like the hoop shrank up on them early on and they started to come back, but needed more than they had.

Things that would have helped

- More Casspi in the first half – the offensive Casspi
- Attacking the rim more, settled for too many jump shots while they either made or got fouled on most drives
- Getting JT more shots – he was hitting 50%
- Double teaming Dirk earlier in the game – why the hell wait until he has over 30 to start

The list could be longer, but at least Tyreke had a really good night. There is that…

by MustangMBS on Apr 10, 2010 10:11 PM PDT reply actions

The Warriors post-game announcers are talking ROY

Curry has definitely been great in the second half of the season, but there’s no question Tyreke is ROY. They’re acting like Tyreke is only good because of his size while talking about how Curry is great at getting assists and everything. Apparently they’re unaware of Tyreke’s 20-5-5 thing…and I know they’re employed by the Warriors, but come on.

They also ASSume

that since Tyreke is only good because of his athleticism, he will remain the player he is throughout his career; With no growth. But Curry has what it takes to be the next Jordan or whatever since he is more skilled. But everyone knows you can train size, speed and strength. But once you get to the NBA you can’t get any better skill wise. This is why it is insane to consider Curry will be the better player in the future. Especially considering Tyreke is 20 and SC is 22.

It's a joke that anyone would consider any other ROY than Reke.

Tyreke gets no pub at all outside of Sac. Part of that is a product of playing for the Kings, and part is due to Reke’s playing style. He is an absolute beast, and star in the making, but you have to watch Reke for awhile before you can appreciate what he as to offer.

Statistically

They are relatively similar, I would just take D-Will because I like his style more and he’s played 384 games to CP3’s 345.

by madmavmathews on Apr 11, 2010 12:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah that's one reason I would have taken D-Will back in 05

I thought Dwill would end up more durable and playing the actual games matters a lot to me.

Why does it stress you out?

I don’t understand why people expect an unanimous vote.

Look at it like this;

If you found out you were under consideration for blog of the year, and the other 9 finalists were horrible sites. Bad to the point where they looked like they could have been designed by 12 year olds and yours blew away the competition. Wouldn’t you be a little nervous that the judges might not recognize how great yours was? That by some chance a crappy site would win because it got a little late-race hype from mainstream writers?

If I cared about something like that, which I don't, sure.

That's a bad analogy

Curry and Jennings are damn good players. Reke is a better player. Barring catastrophe, Reke will be voted rookie of the year.

Should that catastrophe occur, I’ll join you in the bitching and moaning. Until then, I ain’t worried.

I've got squirrels in my pants!

Bad analogy, Yes.

But my point was more that its obvious who the best rookie is.

Ouch

At least Reke did good.

24 points total is needed over the next 2 games to get to the 20 mark.

If he doesn't get another assist or rebound, he's got the 5 & 5 already.

WOW 24 he should get it.. I thought it was more..

by Burrito3 on Apr 10, 2010 11:25 PM PDT reply actions

I'm kinda sick this way

but next game I will be relieved when Reke gets his 4th point,,, so if something bad happens he will still average 20.
I think Reke needs about 25 assists to get to 6.0
does 25 6 and 5 wreck it?

There are some guys smarter than me, some guys better looking, I take comfort in the fact that there is no guy that is both.

Reke needs 25 assists to avg 6 on the season ElRon

Also has no chance at 6 boards a night.

thanks for the update

you have to hand it to him than, as he was the whole Mavs offense against the Blazers as well (40 of 83 points v. Portland). Glad Reke got his numbers and that the Clippers squelched the Dubs.

A Sporcle quiz? Fuck that.

I’ve wasted too many hours of my life trying to guess all the MLS teams, all the states in India, and all of Great Britain’s prime ministers, etc.

Well, one more can’t hurt….
