Now you all can say those things, but...
1)the water is clear enough to sustain aquatic life & I’d put it up against the city of Stockton’ municipal supply, &
2)The 500 gallons is just for this year; last year I also collected 500. & if I expanded my storage, I’d collect a lot more, not even counting my pond and it’s 1000 gallons.

Tap water in California
is one of the most regulated, vigorously tested things you will put in your body. Tap water, especially in a large water agency, is tested frequently for a large range of substances from e-coli to perchlorate. Tap water is regulated by the California Department of Public Health, to meet standards set by the USEPA.
for what its worth, bottled water is regulated by the FDA, and is tested less frequently and many brands are just filtered tap water put in a bottle.
Of course, in the ‘apocalypse’, having 1,500 gallons of water is better than having 5 gallons. Though, I’d rather have a shotgun in that scenario.

Have you ever had most of the tap water in Sacramento, especially around Arden Arcade..Nasty, but at least it ain’t brown. So many minerals in it though, everything gets calcium depositis

We have 2 fish/turtle tanks we just replaced after 6 months because of the calcium and hard water build up.

No see, that's why I collect rainwater...
Tap water in Stockton has a very high ph, about 7.9-8.0; whereas the rainwater is acidic & soft at about 6.5-6.8. When I was really into my fish hobby, I was able to breed discus(South American fish that inhabit the Amazon basin) in my rainwater; not something the amateur hobbyist usually can do
As for the water quality, I know from my own testing that the level of nitrates in my rain water is lesser than the nitrate level in Stockton’ s municipal supply.I’ve actually tested the water myself, tho’ I haven’t tested for perch, etc.heavy metals are also rather concentrated in Stockton’s municipal supply as well, due to the creosote plant(now closed) that used to be at the Port.
According to my most recent cal Water report to quote"The nitrate levels in our reading are at the upper levels of what may be considered safe for human comsumption; for adults; parameters for consumption for chidren currently unknown".
wow…what a ringing endorsement don’t you think? but i don’t drink my rainwater since I’m not treating it.. i don’t drink Stockton’s tap water either, I actually drink water from my parent’s well(at an undisclosed location).

Not the ideal ending to the season
But I’m optimistic about the future, and I’m glad I found StR and was able to chat with you guys for the last….third (?) of the season. I’m sure I’ll be around in the offseason but if somehow I’m not, I’ll see you all next season! Thanks for the fun times :)

The one on Douglas Blvd in Rosevills by the Sunplash, coincedently this chick I work with at Jersey Mike’s here in SD worked at that Sunplash, its a small world.

It’s been fun, but I’m off to bed. It’s fairly early, but tomorrow I have a pretty full day… 4 hours of class, 2 hours of clinic observation I have to do, office hours with a prof, and so on. I heard that highway start to whine

And ywould he be kind enough to give me change for a one
There was one thing I was sure proud to see
There wasn’t a soul in the place except for him and me
He just looked disgusted and pointed toward the telephone
I called up the station down the road a ways
He said he wasn’t very busy today
And he could have somone out there in just about 10 minutes or so
He said," Now, you just stay right where yer at!"
And I didn’t bother to tell the darn fool
That I sure as hell didn’t have anyplace else to go
So I ordered up a beer and sat down at the bar
When some guy walked in and said, “Who owns this car
With the peace sign, the mag wheels and the four on the floor?”
He looked at me and I damn near died
And I decided that I’d just wait outside
So I laid a dollar on the bar and headed for the door
Just when I wthought I’d get outta there with my skin
These 3 big dudes come strollin in
With one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth
Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight
In Jackson Mississippi on a Saturday night
Especially when there was three of them and only one of me
I was almost to the door when the biggest one

And when I did, all that hair fell out from underneath
They all started laughin and I felt kinda sick
And I knew I better think of something pretty quick
So I just reached out and kicked old green teeth right in the knee
Now he let out a yell that’d curl yer hair
But before he could move I grabbed me a chair

So I threw the man a twenty and jumped in and fired that mother up
Mario Andretti wouldda sure been proud
Of the way I was movin when I passed that crowd
Coming out the door and headed toward me at a trott

But somehow I just couldn’t resist the fun
Of chasing them all just once around the parking lot
I had them all out there steppin and fetchin
