What about Donte?

Oh yeah. He doesn’t play defense.

nope

I read on Jason Jones’ twitter that the league is being secretive of such awards this year

Wouldn't be surprised if they announce it tomorrow

Last year it was around then.

with the added drama

I bet they wait. I say MIP next, then 6th Man, the CoY, the Exec of the Year, than TS% leaders, then RoY, then MVP.

Then again, maybe next Tuesday. TNT knows drama.

I don't think there is as much drama about it outside of StR and GSoM

We discussed this in the game thread yesterday

Research says over the last 4 years it’s always on a Wednesday, late April to early May. Last year was on Wednesday April 22nd. So Tomorrow is a possibility. If not then, it’ll likely be Wednesday the 29th.

Another point of interest

Last season, the Defensive player of the Year was announced on the 21st.

So that adds to the likelihood of it being tomorrow.

I'm betting they don't announce the award tomorrow

Why you would wait to announce the ROTY over DPOY though is a bit beyond me.

DPOY-21st. ROY-22nd. I betting on tomorrow.

D Howard is fun to watch

I think he had 7 blocks in the 1st qtr. during game 1 of the playoffs.

Hopefully the next Dwight Howard is coming up the ranks in this years draft and the Kings draft him . . . I would settle for a Tim Duncan type.

by Ba-Da Bing on Apr 20, 2010 4:16 PM PDT reply actions

Settle? Um, I'd pick a 22 year old Duncan over an 18 year old Howard anyday, any time.

Howard is awesome, but Duncan is a first ballot hall of famer. If we can get a first ballot guy out of this draft, I will give you my kidneys. Straight up, no questions asked.

My post was kind of an attempt at being facetious.

Obviously either one would be great. The likelihood of drafting any player of Howard or Duncan’s magnitude is not very high. Not impossible, but not likely.
