Cusack & Straithairn are totally awesome.
LA Confidential is one of the best book adaptions I’ve ever seen. What’s amazing is that the movie is really different from the book. I’m not sure most people would want to see the Ellroy book played out. It’s way too brutal.

LA Confidential never resonated with me for some reason.
So many people love it and it’s so critically acclaimed. People that I usually agree with. I’m going to have to watch it again. Maybe I was just in the wrong frame of mind when I saw it.

The book is incredible. (Although of the LA Crime novels, the Big Nowhere is by far my favorite.)

But the same stories a billion times is just sad. I usually watch ESPN at the gym. Or CNN. The other choices are the Food Network (I know, it makes no sense to see shows about ridiculously rich and unhealthy food while working out) and Fox “News”. So yeah…ESPN is often a decent choice. Sad.

I’ll never understand the “join the site and post a fanpost” mentality. I would never do something like that. Lurk, get a feel and then post a few comments and work my way into the community is a much sounder approach, imo.

But IMO, the comments section of StR outweights the fanpost section because more of the heavyweights comment than they write fanposts.
