I don't know if its ever a good idea to send a guy who wears #13 to something that requires luck.

Great pictures

I was going to say that people should stop complaining about it and accept that it’s a lottery, but the way you represented your story was pretty nice. Props to that

Why did the warriors being drawn catapult wizards and sixers to top 3 picks? I don’t get it

by Mike_is_awesome on May 18, 2010 7:49 PM PDT reply actions

Because Warriors had a better chance than both wiz and sixers...

Ok

So why couldn’t top 3 be kings nets and wolves, all three teams better than the warriors? Doesn’t make any sense to me.

by Mike_is_awesome on May 18, 2010 9:02 PM PDT up reply actions

Let me explain

Here’s the draft order based on the odds:

NJ
Minny
Sac
Washington
Golden State
Philly
Detroit
LA
Utah
New Orleans
Indy
Memphis
Toronto
Houston

There are 14 numbered ping pong balls. Each team gets a certain number of combinations based on their record. Jersey’s record was the worst, so they have the most combos. For the lottery, only the first three picks are chosen. After that, picks 4-14 are based on the teams’ records. That’s how the Kings got the 4th pick last year. They had the worst record, but 3 teams were picked ahead of them, giving them the 4th picl. Starting with the 14th pick and going through the 7th, Houston through Detroit were called in record order. The next pick, going in order, would have been Philadelphia. But when they announced that the 6th pick was going to Golden State that meant that Philly was pushed into the top 3. The next pick after Golden State should have been Washington. When it went to the Kings, it was known that Washington jumped into the top 3 as well. When Minny was the 4th pick we knew that NJ was in the top 3 as well.

I always knew David Stern was a Dan Brown fan...

If you want to be vulgar and funny at the same time, you must also be relentlessly preachy!

I concur.

The Sacramento Convergence concept offers Sacramento, the Central Valley, and the State a solution to feasibly construct a new multi-use Entertainment and Sports Complex.

Does Mrs JJham know this?

I definitely would pook, if that meant The Kings get a top 3 pick

It’s called sacrificing for “the team”

I can't speak for Apoet

but that’s what I summed up. I think it’s supposed to be kinda silly, like “this is how David Stern’s brain works”.

off topic

but I really liked the way they had the expected order up and announced the picks. Made it obvious when a change in expected order occurred. Very well done.
