The Kings confirmed to The Bee's Ailene Voisin the one and only Bill Walton will work 5-10 Kings TV broadcasts next season. Walton will work games in L.A. (the Kings play there four times) and when LeBron James plays in Sacramento. He may also do remote work from his home in San Diego.
I thought the Jim Gray hiring was ridiculous, because the Kings pushed out a solid and popular sideline reporter in favor of a "hard-hitting" journalist who will only be around the team for one quarter of the season. But Walton? I can do Walton, provided Jerry Reynolds remains on the broadcasts in which Big Red participates in. If it helps Jason Thompson throw it down one more time, it's a net plus.
