I have been reviewing mock drafts and looking at combine results for the past week. I have come up with a few scenarios and favorites. One such scenario I would like to see happen is the Kings taking Cousins at #5 and then trading the second round pick and some cash, or maybe next years 2nd too, to a team in the 8-12 range so we can pick up Xavier Henry. Cousins' benefits are well known, as are his risks. Henry has been discussed less, but I think he deserves some more attention. This guy next to Tyreke would create a very large backcourt that would cause so much trouble for other teams both on offense and defense. And Henry can shoot, which would give Evans more room inside. If Casspi or Greene can knock down the three at the SF position like they sometimes showed that they can, then that would really help to spread the floor. Landry has a great jump shot too, so we could really force defenders away from the basket so Tyreke can go to work wiggling his way to the basket.
This lineup could be a playoff team in a couple years:
SF- Casspi or Green (Whoever has the better off-season I guess gets the job)(Even more ideal is signing Gay to play SF)
PF- Landry or Thompson(We'll see how Thompson progresses this off-season, I think he may win a starting position at PF)
That lineup makes me hard, I'm not gonna lie. Plus we still have Beno, Garcia, and Hawes off the bench, all great players to have on your bench.
Anyway, what do you think about the Kings trading for a second 1st round pick to try and get Henry?
