Cousins and Favors won't be working out head to head
Favors-Cousins workout in Sactown not as good as it looks. They won't be competing head-to-head. Agents! -- Chad Ford via Twitter

Now that's dumb...
I want Frontcourt Summit!!!! Kings got the best 2009 NBA draftee out of PG Summit. It stands to reason Frontcourt Summit would have the same effect, now?

I love how Chad Ford basically just reads something from someone
And then passes it off as his own without giving credit. Like here for example Jason Jones. Or the fact that I tweeted to him that Cousins would be working out with Favors when he said only Cousins in Sac, and then a couple minutes later he mentions Favors as well. Whatever.

Jones had a blog up first.

Yes he did in the blog entry.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Unless I'm missing something.

It looks as if none of the workout will be open to the media for viewing. Also, the workout won’t feature any one-on-one play with the two, from what I’m told.

I wonder if the Kings brass will put them on the spot when they get here
and then ask them again.

It never hurts to ask.
Besides, by asking them again it will/should show which one is more competitive by their response, right?

Actually Jones never tweeted it.
And Ford tweeted it about an hour before Jones posted the blog piece. I’ll bet 2 different sources told Ford/Jones what they knew.

Also
I wasn’t expecting them to play head-to-head. Both their agents run a risk doing that.

Run a risk of what?
I know a lot of people blame the agents but a player has the final say on how they want to work out. I’m suprised more teams aren’t weary of this kind of stuff. Everyone already know Cousins is a far better player. Also everyone knows it doesn’t matter because of his issues Favors will get drafted first. So what?
I’m not even sure it would matter who plays better. I would think they would be more focused on what the individual can do against a quality opponent. I wouldn’t care if either player was going against JT. Just as long as I can see something more than a guy shooting jumpers & hooks against the air.

The risk is
One player will likely play better than the other in the workout. That’s not good for the agent of whomever did worse.

Likely to be Favors
Cousins’ defense is good enough and Favors’ offense is raw enough that Favors would like pretty bad on that end
#vfettkefordraft
Favors did annihilate Cousins in their High School matchups
How much changed in a year?

It's more likely Cousins than Favors realistically.
Because Cousins has more to lose at this point.

Naw
Favors is ranked higher. Higher players try not to work out against players ranked lower than them. The higher ranked player always has more to lose.
I know Favors is ranked higher but Cousins has more to lose IMO.

Cousins struggled against better competition at times
Favors strengths/weaknesses. Cousins is more of an unknown commodity IMO.

Favors strengths/weaknesses will probably be known at the workout.
Cousins has other type things he can show in a workout and may not.

Does it matter?
They have to play other guys next season other each other, anyway.. Make them go against Jason Thompson and if they get testy, trhow Brockman at them.

Oh I know
But agents are doing everything they can to put their clients in a good spot. Sometimes workouts are not always the best way to do that in their view. (I disagree, but that’s me.)

and of course they are right
because there is no best way. Workouts can be argued both for (Evans) and against (Douby).
Body of work counts, competition counts and indivicual work outs are probably best for evaluating how a particular player meshes with the coaching staff and front office and their concept of what type of team they are trying to produce.

Since they are going to be defenders.
Put Tyreke in there and see how they stand up to him, when he drives to the rim.

It wouldn't be this big suprise if Cousins dominated.
He is a lot better. Everyone knows Favors is going to be drafted high based on potential. So like I said, so what?
I love beating dead horses.
Probably wouldn't hurt to try and find times they played against each other.

Favors – 17 points, 10 rebounds, eight blocked shots, three steals, 6-10 FG, 5-6 FT
DeMarcus Cousins – 7 points, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks, two steals, 3-16 FG, 1-6 FT
January 2009

Favors finished with 39 points and 19 rebound [couldn’t find the other stats]
