Alright my friends, the draft is quickly approaching and after debating the pluses and minuses of Hassan Whiteside with Mucho Moss (among others), clarity has replaced confusion. Somewhere between the NCAA tournament, draftexpress measurements, YouTube and StR all nighters, we all fall for a particular prospect. We draw a line in the sand and from then on, he will not only be the guy we want to hear called on draft night but when he isn't, we will still scour the fish wrap for his box scores just to prove that we were right.
Last year, LTTG fought tooth and nail in every thread for a 7'-3" center named Hasheem Thabeet. You can still find him defending his dude today. I still follow Ricky Rubio on Twitter even though I can't read Spanish. The year before last, Pookey was really high on Marresse Speights and the year before that.....Jason Smith out of Colorado State which I will never let him forget. We all develop favorites as the draft process progresses, this year is no different. So this is an exercise where, right or wrong, you make the case for your guy- regardless of position on the court or in the draft rankings.
I will begin. DeMarcus Cousins. It's irrational, he is irrational or crazy or Derrick Coleman but I liked Derrick Coleman and I like a little crazy. I think the Kings need a power post player who scores and rebounds and who most of all, has some personality. So far, I am impressed with the Kings rebuild but they need someone who can kick ass and put people in the seats. I think that guy is DeMarcus Cousins and I may regret this decision.
Lets see who you got.
