The one part of this article I would like to hear more about
Derrick Favors
How did your workout go today?
"It went well. It was pretty much what I expected. We got up a lot of shots, did a lot of conditioning drills, and I got a chance to workout with DeMarcus a little bit, so it was pretty good."
Please note the 11 next to my name. All others are frauds.
Just watching the Channel 10 News. They showed both Cousins and Favors with a few words with each of them.
They both look great. The interviews for their workouts today sound very positive for both young men.

Thsi cracked me up
Do you know a lot about the Kings? "Yeah, I know a lot about them. Back in the day they used to be a good team and always made it to the Western Conference Finals. (Sacramento) is a nice city. It’s in California, who wouldn’t want to come to California?"

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I personally liked the comment section of the article

Believe me, Derick Favors will be the next Kwame Brown. He is not vary vocal on the court and leaves his head down most of the games I’ve watched him.
If only Favors found a way to speak more and hold his head up more. Damn it! He could have been a contender!

Pretty much the standard comment right there for any draftee. “Umm, I remember them. Long time ago…western conference finals, blah blah blah.”
Wow, great interviews!
Does anyone know when they will make the Interview Skills Challenge part of the All Star weekend?

Good job DMC
Sounds pretty dumb but it doesn’t hurt to have a good interview, especially when people question your personality.
"Children want what they want when they want it." ... Andy Sims
I still think the interview portion of the beauty pageant is idiotic.
I can understand sitting down with a prospect, and getting a feel for where his head is at, but the cliché-filled pap fed to and documented by the media is boring beyond belief, 99 times out of 100.
Thank you, DeLonte West!
You know who is a good prospect?

“The Iraq, like, and such as.”
The handful of people I know who had dealings with Peja all indicated he’s as dumb as a box of rocks. Who cares? Evans sounds like Mush Mouth from Fat Albert in his interviews, but I guess the ROY trophy-makes don’t give a damn.
Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen.
You're one of a kind Sims.

I met Peja ...
… While I was having my car serviced and he was having his Tahoe serviced. We didn’t discuss anything of great importance other than the Kings. But, Peja was struggling with English. Some people will read into that as lack of intelligence.
Similar issue with DMC. He has that slow southern good ol’ boy style. If you’re from the west coast, where we have a fast speech pattern, DMCs speech pattern can drive you nuts. Too many people will just assume he’s disinterested or doesn’t care.
No, Mr Sims, you are wrong!
Interviews are becoming increasingly important, and are also one of the ools to predict someones place in the draft.
Just now, DraftExpress has an article on Interview Statistics, with a whole bunch of new stats. I just read it.
So now we know that Paul George has an incredible quick release, with a n average QRT of 0.327 seconds. QRT stands for Question Response Time. Derrick Character’s QRT was the slowest of the bunch, at 2.785, which is caused by the fact that often he has to perform at least two chews and a swallow before reacting. Incredibly, DMC has a negative QRT, which can be ascribed to the fact that he did not deem to answer all the questions about his conditioning and other red flags.
To his credit, DMC scored high on some defensive stats. He had the highest DPQ, Deflections Per Question, at 0.899, since he just swathed away all questions about his character issues. Favors on the other hand, scored fairly low, leaving the door open for most questions.
DMC’s teammate, Orton, had a very high Quotability Percentage, especially because of his comments about DMC at the combine. Please note that the Quotability Percentage is also known as the Charles Barkley-stat, and does not show whether the quotes reflect well on the quoted player or not. For that we have to look at Orton’s SIOF-number (Shoot In Own Foot), which shows that his quote may have hurt DMC, but also his own draft stock.
John Wall also stands out in interviews, because he scored especially well at TA percentage (True Answering). His answers had the highest percentage of content that actually related to the questions posed. Ekpe Udoh, predictably, scored low here.
Another bad performer in many stats was Seraphin, who clearly struggled with the English language. The way he he rattled in French with his translator, we do feel he has all the skills (agile tongue, strong lips, lateral word speed) to improve in this category. His ceiling is very high in that regard, and I’d go as far and say that he has ridiculous upside when it comes to interviewing.
Finally, the highest scorer of the all-important RWQ-stat was DMC. It is the steal category of question stats, and stands for Reply With a Question stat. It has to be noted that the stats may be a bit skewed here, since DMC reacted to a lot of questions with “Can your repeat that question?”. Although it isn’t exactly cheating, DMC does know how to fill stat sheets.

Allow me to stand corrected, and green that sucker up.
Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen.
that has always been, and will continue to be, an issue: athletes and the media
Placing a microphone in front of the face of a teenager and expecting them to answer with the grace and charisma of a politician is unrealistic. With time it is hoped it is a skill they acquire but to be bereft of public speaking abilities is not an indicator of success on the court
It helps with endorsements – and I remember they didn’t have Peja do much other than dribble the ball in those car commercials. Jason Williams was great in those Nike commercials with the syncopated dribbling. With that past success, why not have him do some spots for the Magic Kingdom in Orlando?

I'm assuming Voison was the creepy lady making DeMarcus and everyone else uncomfortable
DeMarcus: I used to play football… they just threw me everywhere on the field.
Voison: I bet you have a tight end, I mean you’d be a tight end. Yeah, mmmmm, a nice big tight end…
