What? This is a basketball blog? I had forgotten (DAMN YOU GREECE).
Shrek and Donkey carried the Celtics to a pretty fun Game 4 victory over the Evil Ones, and the Celtics look to take the series lead tonight before heading back to Los Angeles.
Game starts at 5:00 PM PDT on ABC.

Hahahaha
This reminds me of this game my brother played in like junior high. They didn’t have a shot clock or a set amount of time to get across halfcourt, and this other team literally held the ball around halfcourt for the entire second half. I’ve never seen anything like it. I think my brother’s team was destroying them, and they wanted to save themselves the embarrassment, or something. If only the NBA could allow a similar thing to occur….haha.

So, fun story
On Thursday my right ear was totally plugged up and I could barely hear anything, and then I woke up at like 3:30 on Friday morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. So I went to the doctor and guess what? Double ear infection! Apparently I’ve regressed to being 4 years old or something. So now I have antibiotics and ear drops, but while my ears don’t hurt any more, they’re still pretty plugged. So I can kinda tune out the announcers. It’s kinda cool.

Exactly
I did that after the last game and soooo many of them (though I’m pretty sure they were mostly bandwagon “fans”) were blaming the refs. In a game where LA got called for like 2 more fouls and Boston shot 1 more FT (and LA was intentionally fouling at the end, so really it was Boston getting called for more and shooting less). It was funny.

And they were talking about how apparently Rondo is a math whiz, and when he sees a shot going up he can kinda predict the trajectory of the ball and the angle where it’ll hit the rim and where it’ll go, which partly explains how he gets so many rebounds despite being so short. It was pretty cool.

It was definitely a push
But I agree with what JVG is saying….flopping is never gonna go away unless players get a punishment for it. Had Ron not flopped, it still would’ve been called because it was pretty damn obvious. But the flopping is just pathetic.

Oh I know
It makes me want to throw something at my TV. To see a 5 year old who SHOULD be running around outside playing in the dirt wearing a frilly dress and wearing more makeup than I do on a formal occassion is disgusting. I actually think it did help them hit homeruns
only because it likely helped increase their bat speed which would lead to more hits going out of the park. Granted you have to get solid wood regardless of whether you are on steroies but I do think it would help with your swing velocity.

I just have to look at the dominance of the hitters during the whole steroid thing
and now a shift in power in terms of dominance. As more pitchers are dominating.
I’m no expert, but I assume that’s because the steroids benefited the hitters a hell of a lot more.
Like I said though, guess I can’t say for sure that’s the cause, but it’s just ironic that NOW hitters seem to be struggling.

The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
Can't be that hard to tell if it hit the rim
It’s the smallest playing field in all of sport.
@MAD_Marvin
The FairWeather Channel - Sports Comics and Bandwagon Forecast
The first replay
Clearly showed it hit the rim
Can’t believe they couldn’t see it lol
"It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?"
And the refs try their hardest to get it wrong.
Bold Prediction: Whoever we pick 5th this year will have a better NBA season than whoever was picked 5th last year.
Does anyone else completely NOT get why Ellen Page is a spokesperson for Cisco?
Doesn’t seem like the typical spokesdeal.

I wore it to game one in San Antonio in the 2006 playoff series
You know, the one where we lost by 30 or so.
Was that a foul by Pierce?
Kobe certainly thought so…
I wouldn’t agree, just curious if anyone else thinks so

I think KG said something to Fisher after. Probably something like “see you in LA, friend”

On Facebook, one of hte pages I “liked” was LeBron James. Just now the “Page Recommendations” had Vin Disel, because apparently “Many people who like LeBron James also like Vin Disel”. Who knew?

I thought that was a horrible move by them in the offseason
to take artest instead of ariza.

"Even the Swedes are getting mad."-Randy Hahn
"It's very cozy in the sin bin."-Randy Hahn
kobe wouldnt have let them lose against the thunder
not to mention its not like ariza would have contributed NOthing
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
but durant played well against everyone except for artest
artest’s build bothered the fuck out of durant, something that ariza(who is more like matt barnes rather than a battier) ariza would have contributed but not been able to hold durant 3-20 in a game like ron-ron
Amare+Lopez+Clark=Frontcourt 2011
It wouldn't have been for the same amount of money
Ariza was looking for more from LA than the mid level.

Same. Ron Ron is better defensively but Ariza is WAY better offensively. Plus Ariza is younger
"That was the most offensive thing I have seen in 20 years of teaching and that includes an elementary school production of "Hair.""
i dont even think
ron is that much better defensively. ariza gets a lot of deflections and steals. ron has him on strength and maybe intangibles
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
At this point
I would say it’s a draw defensively.
"Even the Swedes are getting mad."-Randy Hahn

Ya know, I haven't seen much of Ariza this sesaon
I mean, I saw him go off against us in our last home game (I was there, and it was crazy) but I haven’t seen much else of him. So I’ll assume you and lodisacfan are right :)

Damn
Boston had 7 blocks and LA had ONE. ONE! With TWO 7 footers and a 6-10 PF!

That is almost unbelieveable.

I know, I couldn't believe it
And it was Kobe with the only block for LA. Rondo, Rasheed and Tony Allen all had 1 for Boston and Pierce and KG each had 2.

Whoops. Forgot to add...
That of course Kobe never gets a superstar call or anything. I think she was referring to when there were only a few seconds left, but still. Complaining about Kobe not getting calls? Really?

Payback coming for Phil Jackson?
I think the audio soundbite ABC ran in the last minute with the Lakers coach saying the Celtics are big chokers at the end of games is going to be motivational music for the Celtics for the next couple of days. Maybe KG will be able to say: “Choke on this, Phil!”
"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal
