WOW

Paul George is being totally overlooked

by MarcusC on Jun 20, 2010 8:10 PM PDT reply actions

He’s not even looked at as a top 10 draft pick..Also he is a SF thats behind Johnson, Aminu and Babbit..Why would the even bother to look at him..We have 2 good SF’s in Casspi and Donté. If they pick one its not gonna be him

Judgment day is coming!

I could see the Clippers reaching for him at #8

They could use an athletic, explosive wing. He’s like anti-Aminu in that he’s very unpolished on the defensive end.

I was under the impression that Hayward and Babbitt canceled

"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal

As did Patrick Patterson.

Big question

If Wesley Johnson falls to 5, will the Kings draft him if he didn’t work out for them?

Doubtful, but there has been very little said about him of late. It does seem like the Kings have ruled him out.

Probably a mistake by him and his camp

Because if he falls to us and we pass, he could easily fall to No. 8.

Wes is not falling to #8

the warriors will draft Wes if Cousins is off the board

Not interested in Wes

If there is one position we don’t need draft help, it’s the 3. Free agency or trades? I’m listening, but I do not want more youth coming in at SF.

And I do not believe he’s going to be legit help at SG, regardless of effort or work.

Are you interested in Wes the asset?

I don’t see Monroe worth more than Johnson.

I don't think so

Unless Petrie has something pretty concrete in hand from another team who wants Wes, I’d just rather keep my hands Johnson-free.

Whatever.

The only comment I’ve heard was when Petrie was on the radio. Essentially said he’d like to see everyone up close but if not fly a bit blind. I have to think they would draft him if Jerry was commenting on how it’s a five player draft, but based on Petrie’s comments he’d come in without them knowing fulling what they have. Of course they would draft John Wall without a workout.

Man, No Wes Johnson or Lance Stephenson

interesting

that they’ve looked at so many PGs and so few SGs

i’ve had crawford going to the kings at #33 all along, but is landesberg perhaps their plan B? it seems like a reach…
no way will dominique jones be there (i wish)

Cousins

The more games of Kentucky I watch, the more and more I am impressed with Cousins. Not only does Cousins impress but Orton and Patterson do too, Patterson with his consistent spot up shooting and Orton with his Dominant defensive presence. Its truly amazing that Kentucky didnt win the ncaa championship. However, it is single elimination.
But Cousins, wow!! So smooth yet so powerful! If the kings get Cousins there will be so much excitement back in Sac Town, It just sucks they havn’t built a new arena yet. It will be great to watch an agressive, unsoft big man that gets to the line and makes free throws.

After looking through this list...

It seems to me like Petrie is positioning himself for a guard in the second round and a big man in the first.

If he goes the other way

I am guessing Samhan or Zoubek in the second round. He’s prepared to go either way.

um...

Donald Sloan and Dominique Jones only worked out once.

Jeremy Wise was the only guard to work out for the Kings twice.

"I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot...and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why... I succeed." Michael Jordan.
