Assuming they weren't expecting Danny Granger in return with the 10th, would this be worth our 5th pick?

But if they trade Flynn, who the hell is their point guard

Maybe they think by getting rid of Flynn, Rubio will come play for them?

Rubio isnt coming this year

one more year on his deal and he already admitted he will not negotiate a buyout with his spanish club

Last year's number #6, this year's 16 and 23 for this years' #10?

Huh?

Well, they have given up quickly on a supposedly talented player in Flynn and if he stays, he will have little loyalty and confidence – two of his previously noted positvies.

What an odd deal. Am I missing something?

by betweentheeyes on Jun 21, 2010 9:32 PM PDT reply actions

That would be a huge "no" then

I’d take 16, 23 and Flynn for my #10

Yeah they've been after Granger for a while.

But Bird denied their last (known) attempt, which was a straight Big Al-Granger swap.

I heard somewhere

Troy Murphy would be included with it.

Nice

But can Flynn and Tyreke both play together?

by oakland9 on Jun 21, 2010 9:36 PM PDT reply actions

I think so

Flynn can shoot and defend (although his small size makes it tough against Reke type PGs). I’d be very tempted to do that deal. Get Flynn, Whiteside & Crawford or something similar. Would be interesting.

by SPTSJUNKIE on Jun 21, 2010 9:40 PM PDT up reply actions

nevermind its a deep draft

and Whiteside could still be available. They could draft a decent forward and a center.

by MJ5 on Jun 21, 2010 9:45 PM PDT up reply actions

Flynn, Whiteside, George or Anderson?

Flynn
Reke
Casspi
Landry
Sam

Whiteside, George or Anderson, Cisco, Beno, JT, etc…

Flynn became a favorite of mine, not from his numbers at the combine or anything like that, just the fact that he is a competitor and will run his body dry of sweat for his team to win a game.

We have two point guards already

Flynn isn’t an upgrade.

"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal

I just asked this on real gm and kingsfanforum and pretty much got told I was crazy, but you know what Petrie can do with draft picks and if cousins isn’t there wouldn’t you want to add multiple good players rather than just one great one and a decent one at 33? You’d essentially get a lotto pick from last year a pretty good big at 16 a SG with potential at 23 that sounds good to me.

by da3ptspecialist on Jun 21, 2010 9:40 PM PDT reply actions

I'd rather get a shot at great players

We have plenty of good players already; you’d just be adding to the logjam. Better to upgrade, add a role player where necessary or stand pat.

The Wolves possibly trading Flynn

Color me completely not shocked.

Me too......

But they made the offer, & It’s no way, they were expecting Granger in return. And aside from Granger, I feel we are way better at every position than the Pacers are. So we have more to offer in return, to go along with a higher draft pick. I think for the 5th & Landry, we could get both Flynn & Jefferson.

Flynn/Beno
Reke/Garcia
Greene/Casspi
Jefferson/JT
Dalembert/16th pick

Playoffs here we come!

Downside..........

I wanna see Reke play next to a bigger guard.

KINGS WILL BE 10-11 CHAMPIONS

by haze0945 on Jun 21, 2010 10:11 PM PDT up reply actions

I would rather have Flynn with Reke

Evans struggled with the smaller and quicker guards around the league like Jennings, Rondo, and Brooks.

I think Flynn would be a great backcourt partner who is quick and strong enough to guard those smaller guards. He could be our Avery Bradley with less overall skill.

by oakland9 on Jun 21, 2010 10:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Avery Bradley may have more skill, maybe not

Flynn was a bonafide high rated PG in a heavy PG draft. I believe the Kings rated him highly. However, the Kings are drafting “big” unless I misunderstood JR.

by betweentheeyes on Jun 21, 2010 11:06 PM PDT up reply actions

My understanding is that if Reke was gone

Flynn would’ve been a King.

or any PG really.

The way I understand this,

Indy offered the #10 pick for Flynn, and the Wolves said no. So eveidently, the Wolves see Flynn as worth at least the 9th pick in the draft. If that is the case, the scenarios being tossed around here are ludicrous.

Let’s try fair value – the #5 and the #33 for Flynn and the #23. I wouldn’t do that deal, but that is roughly fair value for a PG that played reasonably well in his rookie year for a very bad team, especially when the 2010 draft is bereft of true PG talent, John Wall notwithstanding.

If we're trading down

Much rather make a play for Collison

by nbrans on Jun 21, 2010 10:16 PM PDT up reply actions

Which is better?

Flynn + 16th pick

Collison + 11th pick

My only problem is their size. I’ve said it over & over, but if he were available, I’d give up the 5th pick in a heartbeat for OJ Mayo.

by haze0945 on Jun 21, 2010 10:23 PM PDT up reply actions

Definitely Collison + 11

I like the idea of pairing a big guard with Reke, but you still have the option of pairing him with Beno, Garcia, and even Donte/Casspi if the matchup calls for it. Collison brings the playmaking and outside shooting to make an idela pairing. I think it could be a great move if NO were interested.

by nbrans on Jun 21, 2010 10:26 PM PDT up reply actions

I'm assuming you'd take a big at 11, Who?

It is like an Agatha Christie novel. First there were four:

@ #5 Draft Rubio – can’t and/or won’t come over
@ #6 Draft Flynn – trade him after one year
@ #18 Darft Lawson – trade him to Denver
@ #21 Draft Collison – trade him to New Orleans

abracadabra – they are all magically gone. Khaaaaaaan!!!!

by betweentheeyes on Jun 21, 2010 10:27 PM PDT up reply actions

That would be crazy....

But may just happen.

its amazing

that Kahn help on to the only 2 PG’s in the entire draft that didn’t have a really good rookie year. Not saying that Flynn or Rubio would won’t be good, but they are definetly not starting on a great note compared to the others

I like Granger

But I’m not really keen to doing this. I can see why Minny would offer that though.
