I have to admit

New Jersey is scaring me. They seem to be high on Johnson but don’t know if that is a smokescreen. If they choose Favors then Minnesota would choose Cousins and the Kings are screwed.

He’s already 23 and may have peaked already. I’m also not the biggest Monroe fan because he’s like another Spencer Hawes.

23 argument is beyond stupid.

So you want to wait 2 or 3 years so that a guy can give you W. Johnson’s production then when Johnson can do it now?

I do...

I believe Garcia can play some 2, and Three. I like Casspi at the Three. and Donte can play all three. but basically, none have cemented a solid Starting Job at #2

if Johnson can do that… then Cisco is odd man out. We could use a Sharpshooter with Skillz to D up other 2 guards.

What basketball players do you think would make the best soccer players?

I’m going with Iverson in midfield, Lebron at striker and Shannon Brown at goalie

I don't know anything about soccer

but I’d put Josh Smith at goalie, cause of combo of length and athleticism

Lebron just cause he's a freak athlete

Deron Williams has enough strength and speed to be a Rooney type “bruising” midfielder, and I’d probably go with Dalembert for goalie. There’s no goaltending in soccer.

ok team USA

because im sure the NBA has plenty of euro players that would dominate, for example Hedo i guess had world class recognition for his soccer skills

anyway, i would imagine NFL players would make better soccer players, but i would take LeBron on defense, all crosses, all corners would never get passed LeBron

for Goalie, you dont want to pick anybody too tall, because then they wont be able to get the low balls, i would pick a NFLer to play goal keeper, somebody like Chad Johnson

anyway, fun thing to think about

Granger is a star

Tyreke and Granger would be a really strong and young 1-2 punch.

How about Beno (they really want a point guard), Omri (the future) and the 5 for Granger and the 10th, who we use on Xavier Henry. Then we sign Felton (a real point guard) in free agency or get a suitable backup that can spell Tyreke for 10-12 minutes a night.

I’m not really dying to give up Beno, but to get Granger it would be worth it and we would get rid of Beno’s contract. Granger is better than just about every major free agent, and none of those guys is going to come to Sac anyway.

"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal

I would still have gone with Cousins

I realize I might be a little in the minority there. I think Cousins and Turner are close enough in talent that you go to the tie-breaker in who fits a bigger need. As of right now, Turner is a ball-dominant guard with a shaky outside shot. Unless I were convinced he could become an very good outside threat, I go with Cousins.

Andy Katz is reporting the Nets will draft Favors over Johnson

Dunno if that’s just a smokescreen or if that’s a fact. Nets selecting Favors though could screw up the Kings selecting Cousins. Of course though David Kahn is selecting in front of the Kings.

I think Johnson, Wall, Turner & Favors are the top 4 and it’s just the order depending on who wants whom. The only team that can really screw Sac off DMC is Philly. We’ll know pretty early if that’s the case.

I just know it is an offense that involves passing and ball rotation; the key is to have passing big men that know where the ball is supposed to be. basically, you have an inside threat

with two perimeter threats

Very very very short version

Emphasizes ball movement and different options for passing (think two guys on perimeter and one in post and all moving based on what the defense is doing).

RealGM reporting Pritchard is officially out
Kevin Prtichard has been fired by Paul Allen as GM of the Blazers.

Allen informed Pritchard that Thursday would be his final day of work with the Blazers.

Pritchard will be in charge of the draft as planned.

This is the strangest firing in recent basketball history IMO.

…what happens if the team on the clock doesn’t select a player within those 5 minutes?

In the NFL they get skipped

And then the next team gets to pick, then they’re on the clock again. So basically they move down one spot. Not sure if its the same in the NBA but i’d get so.

I think it was Kevin Williams. They didn't really miss out.

Got a dominant lineman at a lower salary. Although IIRC he still demanded the 6th pick’s slot $$.

Draft Day 2009: I was in a Detroit theater about to watch the Hangover when my cousin texted me telling me who the Suns had drafted. I texted him back asking him who the F*ck that was. I shed a tear and told myself: The Suns are going to suck next year and Amar'e is going to be traded and my life ruined. 12 Months later to the day I am looking back at the Suns incredible playoff run to the Western Conference Finals.

this is much more anticlimactic than last year. I really don’t expect Cousins to not drop to 5 or Petrie to throw us a monkey wrench by not taking him.
