Had Cousins slipped past the Kings, the agent for Cousins would’ve made it clear to Warriors that his client didn’t want to play there.

Makes sense

Lame duck coaching staff and front office…they aren’t sure if they are keeping Ellis or moving him. Lots of question marks on the roster?

OTOH, they have a rabid fanbase and the new owners are going to have deep pockets. Might not be a bad place to be once the corpse of Don Nelson retires to Hawaii permanently.

Tyreke was hardly a popular pick. It payed off, but I didn’t think it was going to at the time. We’ll see how this plays out.

This is the 2nd staright year had we gotten our original draft position

We may have very well taken the same player as to where we fell.

Tyreke could have easily been our #1 target last year
Cousins could have easily been our #2 target this year

I can't either.

My draft board for our #1 pick has been:

Cousins

Cousins

I wanted him even as high as number 2 if we got it. I hope that he doesn’t disappoint me or Sacramento.

This is my ideal situation

I also would love to see JT/Cousins start together, that would just be a beastly front court. Then Landry can come off and produce very well off the bench. Just as he did for the Rockets.

Dalembert I see getting 15-20 minutes max.

Landry isn't underrated anymore

People know he’s good.

But as a starter, JT played better in the JT/Landry combo.

Is after DMC gets a year of exprience, what do we do with Sammy and Landry next year as UFA? If DMC turns out, I doubt we try and resign Dalambert. I think a starting combo of JT/DMC with Landry getting 28 minutes a game off the bench sounds nice.

Cousins

Did I say bust? I meant best. :)

I certainly wish him the best now that he’s a King. And there is no doubt that the Kings have slowly but surely improved their frontcourt starting with the drafting of Hawes. I only say that because they were able to flip Hawes into Dalembert. Then JT, the trade for Landry and now Cousins. It will be interesting to see how that impacts our production in the paint next season.
