Potential Kings' Summer League Invites

Here a few players I'd like to see the Kings invite to Vegas Summer League.

Sylven Landesberg, Virginia: Landesberg is a two-guard who can create his own shot, which might be valuable off the Kings bench given the current roster.

Mikhail Torrance, Alabama: A big point guard who slipped because of a reported heart issue. He might be the best point guard available as an undrafted free agent, other than ...

Sherron Collins, Kansas: No idea how Collins isn't locked up for VSL by someone already. Word is the Bobcats are trying to land him. The Kings should try, too.

Manny Harris, Michigan: Harris is a scorer first and foremost, but he's still a talented guard who could deserve a look.

Not an expert here.

In fact, I haven’t heard of most undrafted prospects.

But I am a homer fan, and therefore I’d like to see some Ryan Thompson!

Would love to see RT.

The brothers Thompson, donning that beautiful Sacramento Kings jersey.

On another note, when will they bring back the black jersey? That was one bad ass jersey!

Landesberg...

…could be this year’s Wes Matthews. And Landesberg would be a GREAT fit for our back-up 2 guard role.

I’d like to add Torrance too.

Why is Randle going to Washington’s S-League team? Wall, Hinrich and Arenas would be ahead of him. In Sacto….Beno.

better situation here than in Washington.

Because he will probably be able to showcase his skills better in WA SL

If he were playing on the Kings SL, I think the coaches would be telling him to slow it down and dump the ball into Cuz and White. Plus, I think they need to fill the court with shooters because I bet Cuz is going to see a lot of double teams in the SL. And a deep-shooting SG is probably what this team is missing right now.

GP said in an interview last night that the Kings needed to add a PG & SG

Nothing about a SF. But, with Cisco as the 3rd SF, that might be too much.
With Brockman, 6 C/PF’s, if they add 2 guards that makes 5, plus 2 SF = 13 man roster. That’s 1 already not dressing, so not sure we need more practice players who sit in suits during games.

I’d like to see them add a SG with defensive chops and an outside shot, and maybe a veteran PG. With Donte, Omri & Cisco supplying the 3pt shooting, we’re going to need some time for the rest of the young guys to develop their half court game.

This is what we expected, that the Kings would now look to add a PG & SG.

This is the confirmation we were hoping to get. Here is where the cap space is going to play out. It seems to be pretty clear that the franchise means business in turning the team around.

I am in complete agreement with you as to possibly adding a veteran PG and a SG with some defensive acumen and with strong outside shooting.

to be a player who can provide a change-up to our presumed starters, someone who can really push the pace, make other benches adjust.

That and adding some additional outside shootng are the priorities going forward in my mind.

well all of the summer league invites

should be either a PG,SG, or SF.

I do not see why any big man would accept a summer league invite from us with our newly found abundance in big men

We'll invite at least one more big man

(you’ve gotta have someone for our young bigs to practice against)

But yes, most will be PGs and SGs.

JT probably won’t play (?) much and Tyreke not at all because of the national team but Omri, Donte’, Brockness, DMC, and Hasaaaaaan(!) won’t be enough.

Really excited about Landesberg and Chism

Didn’t get to see enough of Landesberg to include him in the draft preview, then he was suspended at the end of the season. But I liked what I saw. People probably sleeping on him, sort of a Nick Young-esque smooth 6’6" shooting guard. Very glad he’s on Petrie’s radar.

Chism is a guy who seems like he could find a place in the NBA with his strength and jumpshooting – he always gave Patrick Patterson fits. Though hard to see where he would fit on the roster now that the Kings are officially loaded at PF and C.

John Scheyer would be a great back up PG that would be able to come in on tuff situations and help lead the Kings to more wins. Say what you want, that guy knows what to do to lead a team to victory. Also, he has an excellent shot and moves around the court really well while finding open guys and creating good looks for team mates. I really hope the kings pick him up, that would be icing on the cake of a great draft 2010.
You can’t teach being clutch, the more pressure the better he plays. He was always hitting devastating shots in the final four last year, he would be a great leader to have on a young team. He played for four years at duke so he has been through some great experiences that could pay off.
