Thank you for making yesterday one of the most memorable in Sacramento Kings draft history. As one fan, I think I speak for many who cheered yesterday both in jubilation and relief. So many hours were spent, by fans, analyzing each potential draft pick's strengths and weakness to come to a general, albeit not complete, consensus for DeMarcus Cousins. We, as fans, spent countless hours analyzing mock drafts and creating our own. We critiqued every rumor that floated on the Internet, looking for sources or validation. We studied your facial expressions, your demeanor, your voice intonation for any clue to which way you could be leaning. We listened and hung on each word that came from Jerry Reynold's mouth for any hint he could possibly drop. We determined that you would make a very good poker player, keeping your cards close to your vest and Jerry Reynolds, a man of integrity, knows when to keep quiet on such matters.
This last week, with rumors running rampant on the Internet, the possibilities of how the draft picks would play out became innumerable. Yet, through it all, our trust in you remained firm. Our mantra - In Petrie We Trust, kept us sane. In the end, in your own words,"The planets aligned." I believe that most of us believed that you would pick Cousins, if he fell to the 5th pick. You did not disappoint. The surprise was the fall of Whiteside to the 33rd spot. While most everyone had him as a lottery pick, he somehow landed in Kings domain.
Thank you for your selections. We love, respect, and admire you.
