So I've seen a lot of chatter on the board on how The Kings need to add another 2 Guard. With the additions of Cousins, Dalembert and Whiteside I don't agree with this idea at all nor do The Kings I believe. The recent Lakers run has shown everyone who follows the NBA how valuable length, rebounding and shotblocking are in this league. And I think Petrie has put together a team based on these 3 factors that will crush our oppenents over the next 5 years with offensive rebounding, size and defense. I believe our rotation in November will be a match up nightmare for most of the league. Here is the lineup I believe the Kings have in mind
Rotation - F Cassipi, G Beno, C Cousins, G Garcia,
Backups - F Brockman, F Whiteside
Our Point Guard is 6 ft 6 225, our 2 Guard is 6 ft 10. Greene and Cassipi are both quick enough and have the shooting touch to play the 2 and I do believe this is what the Kings have in mind for both of them. Rebounding and shooting against this Kings team is going to be hellish for opponents once they gel. Our offensive rebounding rate is going to go through the roof. The rebounding, size and shot blocking we have added is going to gives us 15 to 20 more wins next year. The NBA isn't about having 2 or 3 guys at every position on paper as teams like Boston have shown us. It's about having 9 or 10 guys in a solid rotation that play well together. I believe we have those 9 to 11 players right now who have been put together in a brilliant way. I am so excited for next season to see how this jumbo lineup plays out. How are teams going to adjust to the size of our guards? I hope I sound rational because the thought of the Supersize Kings has me as excited as the night we won game 5 of the 02 WCF. It is a good day to be a Kings Fan! I want to hear what everyone else thinks.
