He did say a number of very off-the-wall things. .
From LeBron’s totally round beard to his emotionless face to Kanye West being in attendance in a very deep v-neck… (Yeah, this too.)

“This whole free-agent experience, I’m looking forward to it.” This is an odd statement, but perhaps very telling. What if he had been planning all along to dump Cleveland all along, relishing in his dreams (daydreams/fantasys) the moment, still to come, of dumping on Cleveland? Just a thought.

Just a thought

More likely is what he said several years ago. He was very upfront and the Cavs had to have listened. Their bad if they didn’t. The Heat sure did.

LeBron stated that he and Wade had agreed to leave open the possibility that they join together on one team. Bosh may have been part of that commitment. It is more likely that they all agreed to this, but didn’t know how it could even be possible. Each team they were on had the possibility to listen to that message and plan.

I think that the Cavs gambled that they could win a championship with just him and they lost. It didn’t happen. If it had he probably would have stayed.

I think that LeBron had conflicting loyalties. His loyalty to his team and his hometown, but also the commitment he made to his friends, his own goal to win a championship, and his desire to have a legacy of a champion. He probably saw himself as in a position similar to Kevin Garnett before he went to the Celtics.

Overall, I think that what he has done contradicts much of what people are saying. He is not such a big egotist that he wanted all the spot light. He went to the Heat where he took a downgrade. Just one of three princes and no longer King.

I didn't major in Common F-cking Sense, but ...

If he didn't want the spotlight, then the whole affair could have been handled without the TV special.
