Ryan Hollins is terrible
But it is hard to go wrong getting picks from Minnesota.
"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal
IDK.....
Cavs still have Mo and Gibson at the 1. But I guess both can play off the ball at some point, especially Gibson.
KINGS WILL BE 10-11 CHAMPIONS
I dunno
I think Hollins is pretty productive when he gets heavy minutes. My recollection is that he’s on the athletic side for being a 7-footer.
But hey, another guard for Minny. And I guess this means that LeBron will somehow end up in the Twin Cities. Or his mom.

Hollins is pretty athletic
But he’s an absolutely atrocious rebounder for a 7 footer. In 4 years, he has a 12.3 DRB%. Tyreke Evans had a 13.6 DRB% last year as a point guard. He also has Mikki Moore hands with a career 19.0 TOV%. That’s actually worse than Mikki Moore, who has a career 16.0 TOV%. Actually, looking at the career advanced stats, Mikki Moore might not be too bad of a comparison, except Moore’s stats are better in almost every category.

Not just one guard but two
They had three pgs before this trade and were looking to move one, so they move one for two more………?
I dont' understand this trade AT ALL from Minny's side.
They want to get out of Session’s contract they signed in order to sign Ridnour, so to do so they acquire West’s unguaranteed contract. They give away an athletic big and a future pick to get rid of their mediocre contract in order to sign a worse contract, AND they take a 2nd run with Telfair???

Good Luck
Delonte West will be fantastic influence on Michael Beasley. (I heard he was a real father figure to Lebron.)

Man, that sucks.
I wish Delonte could be in a better system.

Also
isn’t this Bassy Telfair’s second time getting trade to Minnesota? What shitty luck.

not too bad for Kahn, suprisingly...depending on the pick
Sessions and Hollins were 2 contract mistakes last season, with another couple years left. He could of saved a draft pick though and a years worth of salary from both Sessions and Hollins if he was an avacado

RealGM says Minnesota plans to waive Delonte West
Link here.
he Timberwolves will waive guard Delonte West, who they acquired in a trade with the Cavaliers on Monday night, according to sources.
Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports wrote the following on his Twitter page moments after the trade was officially completed, “Wolves will waive Delonte West, source tells Y! Sports.”
Good God yes, let the Delonte West free agent circus begin!

And, $3M in cap space this year, if West is waiver by Aug. 3rd
up to Aug 3rd only $500K of his salary is guaranteed.

It doesn't look good for the Wolves at the moment.
But anything Kahn does will be met with skepticism. I think it’s a fine move for the Wolves because it’s not like Sessions was a major league star or anything.

By the time Ricky Rubio comes to Minny

The team might have a full team of point guards.
"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal
Funny thing is
Wolves traded Telfair, Madsen, and Smith for Q-Rich at the end of last year, and then they traded Quentin Richardson for Mark Blount, who they waived. Then they make two signings: Ramon Sessions and Ryan Hollins.
This summer they trade Sessions, Hollins and a 2013 2nd rounder to the Cavs for … Delonte West (who they will waive and pay $500,000 too) and Sebastian Telfair.
So if Kahn had done absolutely nothing, he’d have Telfair still, wouldn’t have had to pay Sessions or Hollins anything, wouldn’t have to pay Delonte West $500k, and would still have that 2nd rounder.
Kahn is an amazing GM!

This is amazing. The most amazing thing I have heard in about 4 years.

before they waived Delonte
I was at least going to say it was a hilarious move, to unite Delonte and Beasley. That would have been genius, to see those two running a pick & roll.

Now this is up on RealGM: Wolves Will Likely Trade Or Buyout Telfair
The Timberwolves are expected to either trade or buyout the contract of guard Sebastian Telfair.

WTH?!? So they basically traded Sessions + Hollins + 2013 2nd-rounder for nothing (except cap space maybe, which they don’t really need)? I really don’t know what to say.
