Love: A's, 49ers, Sharks
Giants are a distant second for me in MLB. Hate the Raiders. Indifferent about the Dubs.
m*****f***ing c***s***ing peanut butter and jelly!! f*** f*** f***!!!
Just a poll
Not adding that coverage here, just seeing if Kings fans overlap with other Bay Area teams fans.
I only watch playoff games, if anything, of non-NBA teams.
Hockey earlier this year was the cool. It was my first experience in that. Baseball is horribly boring. Football is fine in the playoffs. Hockey is cool in the playoffs. College sports don’t do it for me. Especially college basketball.

Whoa there
Especially college basketball.
That’s borderline un-American round these parts(meaning Kentucky).
My wife went to UK.
She always tells me that Tayshaun held a door open for her once. Then I say she could’ve married him instead. And she says “YIICH!!”. Good times.
Anyway, die hard ’Niner fan. One time die hard Dubs fan until years of suckitude and an ultimate move to Sac changed my allegiances (though it still bugs me that Kings fans claim Mitch as theirs. He was Run TMC damn it. I went to Mitch Richmond camp in Oakland when I was a kid. He was a WARRIOR!!!). Raiders left me as a small child for LA, so fuck ’em. Baseball sucks. Hockey sucks. Stanford sucks. Go Bears! That is all.

I only look into college basketball when we're high in the lottery.
Even then, it can barely stand watching every team jack up threes all day. That’s literally all they do. Until I saw DMC. :)

Yes, Sharks/Niners
I follow the Sharks…. and pay attention to the 49ers. I can appreciate the passion that Sharks fans have. they are great. alot like us, they have yet to get over the hump in the playoffs, but still remain loyal and rabid. my kind of fans.
Statistics are like a girl in a bikini. They show a lot, but not everything.
Yes, however the Giants and 49ers not so much..
But then I was born In Oakland and grew up in San Leandro.
I take a mild interest in all the Bay Area teams, but I love the underdogs from Oakland.
All my friends are Niner and Giant fans though, so I go to those games a bit.

I'm in the same boat
although don’t really root for the A’s and Raiders because they were or are underdogs but just because I’m that dick in the family who wanted to root for the “other” teams
Because talent? You want to add a guy like boozer because hes talented? I’m sorry i just don’t see that as a valid reason. -- fffindeed

To be clear
We’re just collecting data on whether it makes sense lump Sacramento in with SBN’s larger Bay Area regional coverage. Nothing at StR will be changing.
Question
Do we really want to be sports blog neighbors to GSoM? I heard that’s a real shitty neighborhood.
Bé foréwarnéd: I am a mémbér of StR Groupthink méntality.
Technically CAB
Since StR & GSoM are both on SBN, I thought that was already the case.

Huge Giants and 49ers fan
Bandwagon jumper about the Sharks, hate the Warriors, indifferent about the A’s and Raiders.
"Dodger fans aren’t happy when foul balls get into their section, because it interferes with their playing with the beachball"- Mike Krukow
I only want to read about the Kings here
And when I thought hard about the question, I realized I know too much about the Giants, 49ers, and Sharks to say I didn’t follow them.
Childress then flew to Greece and asked the team if they would pay him in gold bars, hookiers, weed, and marijuana. The rest is history.
I'm a Reds fan, but I've always had a soft spot for the Athletics.
Even before that pounding we gave them in ’90…
Giants? Hell no. Old NL West rivalries die hard. 49ers and Raiders can both suck it, Cal & Stanford are mediocre teams in a mediocre conference, and the Sharks play hockey, apparently.
Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen. And for a limited time, every third person who follows me on Twitter (andy_sims) gets a free ice cream cone.

Huge Giants fans, pretty good 49ers fan and I cheat for the Sharks
A’s, Dubs and Raiders are dead to me
Wait....Why is everybody clapping? Everyone around me is clapping.... I guess I should be clapping too... GO LAKERS!!! I hate living in So Cal
I voted yes
but I only follow the A’s and Niners very loosely. I’m a completely fairweather fan of those two teams, but that’s because I’m not a huge fan of either sport unless its in video game form.

GO NINERS!!!!
Can’t wait for football season. Things are actually looking good this year. I’m super excited.
Giants
Dad was born in the bronx, and went to his first New York Giants baseball game in 1928. My first game was 1965, Mays was in center, McCovey was at 1st, and Marichal was pitching. ’Nuff said.
I was also a Raiders fan right up to the point where Al Davis decided to diss Marcus Allen, perhaps the greatest Raider of all time. That was it for me. I’ve enjoyed watching the 49ers over the years (especially Steve Young), but I don’t have a lot of emotion invested there.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
I can relate, Section.
My dad took me to see a San Francisco Giant’s game around 1962 with Willie Mays playing and so was McCovey. They were playing the Dodgers, when Sandy Koufax was at the height of his pitching career. Never been a Raider fan, but watched the 49ers, especially in the years when Joe Montana was the quarterback. Wow, that makes me sound really old.
If you want to be your best, you have to do your best, otherwise you are only second rate.
Depends how young you were in 1962.

As my profile says, 49ers diehard, Oakland A’s fan and Kings are what it’s all about. If only Sacramento wasn’t so hot so we could get a MLB baseball team (Oakland A’s due to thier farm system being here) or NFL Football team (49ers know Nor Cal well since they had summer camps here for so long, although Raider’s would fit right in with Stockton) up here. Honestly I think it would be better for both leagues to clear some space in between teams in the bay area, especially with A’s and Giants. There is just not enough of a fanbase to keep both operating that close to each other.

Nope
Don’t care for any of the Bay Area teams… Kings / Rivercats here with a little English Premiership thrown in for pretentious flava.
Been to a few Giants games, enjoy the park.
Can’t stand anything Raiders and can’t understand area fans that could still embrace them after they flew the coop to So Cal.
Nevada Wolf Pack for me, all things collegiate. Browns and Indians fan for life. (UGH)
Sound the trumpets, Raise the drawbridge, and drop the Oldsmobile
I watch Niner football until Kings season starts
Other than that I’m a Cardnials fan for baseball (although Ive watched maybe 3 innings of baseball this year) my hockey team would be the Red Wings but again hardly watch.
F#ck Kobe Bryant.
F#ck Shaquille O’Neal
F#ck Phil Jackson
F#ck Rick Fox (twice)
F#ck Sasha Vujacic
F#ck Robert Horry
F#ck Derek Fisher
F#ck Dick Bavetta, Bob Delaney and Ted Bernhardt – I’m still waiting for them to have their jerseys retired at Staples.
F#ck Every Laker fan who comes to Arco Arena, wears his hat sideways and stands up and cheers with his arms out and his back to the floor whenever Kobe scores a basket.
Oh, and F#ck Jack Nicholson, Dyan Cannon, and that silver haired douchebag wearing the snakeskin boots.

I'm from So Cal so
I hate the raiders and the 49ers…
Big time 49ers fan.
And I don’t really like baseball, but I root for my home teams so I have a preference towards the Giants.

I am a sports addict.
I follow the A’s and Niners as well as the Cal Bears. I used to be a frequent commenter on AN but I’m not so in love with the community over there anymore. I also follow the Niners at NinersNation. Good group of guys but the NFL off-season gets a little tedious. I watch 9 hours of football every Sunday. I DVR and watch every televised A’s game and I don’t miss a single Kings game either on TV or live. I’m not a game day thread guy, I prefer to watch the action without commercials so I start a few minutes late.

I'm from San Jose
So it’s only natural to follow the Sharks.
I hate baseball, but I’m starting to like the Giants.
Don’t get me started on the Kings. :D

Giants fan and Stanford fan/alum here
Also like the A’s. Increasingly apathetic toward the NFL. Never really got into hockey.
by LPKingsFan on Jul 30, 2010 9:59 AM PDT via mobile reply actions
Sharks yeah
my baseball and football team however are from different states
Oh, yeah
I grew up riding Bart to the Coliseum to watch Mr. October, Catfish, and the rest of the crew from the $1 bleacher seats. I followed the Mad Bomber, Kenny “the snake” Stabler, and the nastiest defense in the NFL as a loyal Silver and Black fan. When I got married, I introduced LPA to the Bash Bros and the Kings. Somehow she ended up as a 49ers fan (Couldn’t have anything to do with that good looking Mormon QB of theirs.)
My kids are all Raiders fans. But none of them get my love of baseball.
I hate the Giants.

I lukewarmly follow the A's.
And it’s a very light lukewarm following at that. Otherwise, couldn’t give two shits about the Bay sports scene.

Ill root for all bay area teams
especially over LA teams haha. I am a rabid fan of the 49ers, Sharks, and Giants but I’ll root for the other teams when not playing those three, and Kings of course
A's, Raiders
Sharks too, but only when fewer people around care about them. Usually when they’re mediocre in the regular season.

related blogs at SBN are excellent – except GSoM. As an avid Giants fan, I frequent McCovey Chronicles almost as much as STR. Grant is phenomenal. Athletics Nation, Cal Golden Blogs, and Niners Nation are very well run sites. I’m not as familiar with SABP…
I would definitely like to see STR as part of SBN Bay Area…though I might prefer to have it simply called SBN Nor Cal ;)
I started out a Knicks fan, my first pro sports love.
Went to Yankee Stadium with my Dad, and Shea, but baseball just isn’t a League so I don’t watch except the World Series and only if I have time. Going to see a game in AT&T park is fun, Oakland not so much but I don’t support the teams in fan form.
I follow Raiders, Niners, Giants, A’s socailly as a local inhabitant and ESPNews watcher.
Football is Miami Dolphins first as well as the Hurricanes for college (alumnus ties, my other schools don’t even have mediocre teams). It has been tough the last decade or so.
I don’t follow Ice Boxing at all.
Tennis is alright.
I follow the Warriors and if it weren’t for the Kings I would make the drive to Oakland (I go to a few Dub games every season anyway). Now that I make trips to LA and have access to Staples I attend as an NBA fan – Clips have all the passion of an Applause sign, the Lakers make the experience feel like a reality show, but NBA Bball is still Fan tastic for me in any form.

Casual Sharks Fan
Most of my teams are in Seattle except the New York Jets (life long fan, can’t tell you why).
But the Sharks are my NHL team without a doubt, just don’t follow them with the same morbid curiosity I do the Kings.

Not a bay-area fan at all.
But I grew up in Portland and am getting ready to move near Fresno, via Indiana and Wisconsin. If it was up to me, I’d lump you guys in with the Blazers and Bucks (never did gain an affinity for the Pacers, though I understand that is not uncommon).

For, besides continuing thus to soften body and mind, as these commodities had lost almost all their pleasantness through habit, and as they had at the same time degenerated into true needs, being deprived of them became much more cruel than possessing them was sweet; and people were unhappy to lose them without being happy to have them." -Jean-Jacques Rousseau
