Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

It's a 13 minute long video including the stop. He was obviously racing with someone else, and definitely was driving recklessly.

I don't know for sure but that's my guess.

No way Donte drives a Camaro or Challenger, he wouldn't fit in the front seat.

Now that I've seen the whole video of this.....

…Tyreke got what he deserved. It’s over. Time to move on.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about the law on this one,

but man, Tyreke is lucky he didn’t get charged for blatant street racing.

This is definitely reckless

lucky those were the only charges.

There are some guys smarter than me, some guys better looking, I take comfort in the fact that there is no guy that is both.

by ElRonToro on Jul 30, 2010 2:13 PM PDT reply actions

I have a question...

Why would they release this video right now? This incident happened about a month ago and Tyreke has already sense admitted guilt before a judge. All this does is add more of a spotlight on what looks to be a dead issue from both the mainstream media and the local media. I understand the law is the law but where do you draw the line between newsworthy coverage of last year’s rookie of the year recklessly disobeying the law and a dumb move by a 20 year old kid?

Who knows?

I don’t think it’s a big deal really.

There were charges the cops reacted inappropriately

Or that Tyreke would have been treated better if he wasn’t black. I think this was released to put those claims to rest.

This is way more dangerous than I assumed.

I thought he was going 130 early in the morning with very light to no traffic. I wonder who was in the silver mustang? Somebody could of changed lanes right in front of him thinking it was clear.

Tyreke effed up, and he’s lucky because it could have turned out a lot worse. Maybe this will just drive the lesson home a little more and help ensure he is incident-free going forward.

or continue racing on the streets? The open drags are like 1 or 2 nights a week, why would it be such a big deal to go do something in a controlled environment that is completely legal?

like no riding motorcycles or scooters. No jumping out of planes, and the new clause no driving over 50mph unless accompanied by one of the Maloof brothers.

his left turns were terrible? Towards the end of the video, he d take a left turn, and if a car was coming that direction, it would have been a head on collision. Reke, take some lessons man!

by Smills9133 on Jul 30, 2010 5:02 PM PDT reply actions

It was paid for with tax dollars, and the public has the right to see it.

The case is now resolved, so had a jury been needed, there would not have been any bias for people seeing it before entering a potential jury pool.

Also, if anyone was thinking about crying DWB or other harassment, that’s not going to happen.

If people drove properly instead of having some garbage beater in the fast lane going 50

they wouldn’t have had to veer through traffic. Use the fast lane to pass and get your happy ass back over to the slow lane.

Guess it wasn't Donte who was racing with Reke.
Evans’ attorney on Friday said the other driver was a friend of Evans’, but not someone associated with the Sacramento Kings. That person later identified himself to police, and also pleaded no contest to reckless driving charges, Portanova said.

I’m just glad that Reke was calm and cooperative with the trooper once he got pulled over.

That type of chase is definitely a case where people can get ventilated if they do not do exactly as Mr. Police Officer tells them.

Just watching that video was scary

Glad nobody got hurt. How many times do we see people weaving in and out of traffic and curse their existence? This was worse than what we’d normally see and curse at. I hope Tyreke learns his lesson for his own safety and for the other people on the road.

As someone who drvies a lot of miles every year

Wow, it is scary to see how pinpointed the CHP and helicopter surveillence can be.

I will try and be a bit more careful myself, especially when tooling down I-5 to LA. Those officers conducted themselves impressively – I can’t imagine having my every word and move evaluated by the public on even the most routine daily occurrences. We all try and act and behave professionally but this amount of scrutiny is daunting. /’hat tip.

in elk grove at the sacramento asian sports foundation gym on tuesday, he was with his friend that he was in the car with who was also arrested with him. i got his autograph! He was watching his friends brother play but then got paparazzid by all the little kids so he left. i asked him to race me and he looked at me and laughed, cool guy though.
