Tyreke Evans: Spokesperson for Mercedes-Benz*
Hi, I’m Tyreke Evans, Rookie of the Year, for the Sacramento Kings. Mercedes Benz has asked me to give an endorsement for their Mercedes Benz S550.
Playing basketball last season was very exciting for me, but to be honest with you, it could not compare with the recent ride I had in my S550 Mercedes. It is every man’s fantasy to drive a fast car, but I wanted to find out for myself, just what that experience would be like.
This car did not disappoint. My friend and I were just cruising down the freeway, listening to some rap, when we saw another car ahead of us hitting it, so I decided to catch up. The salesman didn’t lie when he said this car has great acceleration. I hardly touched the pedal and we were going 100 mph. This car is so smooth; you’d hardly know we were going so fast, except we were passing by other cars like they were nothing.
The cool thing was, my friend and I did not skip a beat listening to the music. I could not believe the handling of this car. It was so easy to change lanes, we weren’t even aware that the police were following our every move. It was pure exhilaration taking it up to 130 mph. So, to any of you thinking about buying this car, I can highly recommend it. As for taking it for a spin at 130 mph, just take your salesman’s word for it, unless getting stopped by police at gunpoint is your idea as part of the total experience.
If you want a car that is sleek, outperforms expectations, and the ultimate experience to drive, test drive a Mercedes today. Tell them Tyreke sent you.

LOL
It’s funny how these incidents get sooooo out of proportion.
The best way to deal with them is this. Just this. No media bashing, no public apologies.
Well done SD.

Thanks, Pookey.

Seriously? I was more worried whether it would make it past Ziller and Section.

This is not typically the kind of thing they delete.

If anything SD
The worst thing is the title because you could argue it’s misleading. If you read what you wrote however, though, it’s clearly not the case.

I can see that. I love his sense of humor.

No, he's not stuck up. I wasn't implying that he was.
I was offering a criticism, what little of it that SD’s piece warrants, in there. And offering that as a potential criticism that TZ or 214 might offer.

It met my criteria
It was well written, and it was non-political.
Humor is especially subjective, satire even moreso. You’ve already pulled 9 rec’s, and you’ve also had a number of people voice disapproval. You’ve initiated a decent thread conversation. If every FanPost cut this kind of path, StR would be the better for it.

Soffffft for not laying down the hammer
Just kidding. I like this post. If you take yourself (or team) so seriously that you can’t fun of yourself (or team) then you are obviously taking life (or sports) too serious. Yes that was circular logic but I’m ok with it

I have to admit though, I was surprised my pickup basketball post generated so much conversation.

I love that post, especially the Scorer and Terrell Owen types.

Rap music?
I was thinking more R&B. That was “mad at your girl” driving.
I love beating dead horses.

The difference between Sac fans and fans of lets say LA, is that we’re not afraid to admit and poke fun of our own players when they make a mistake.

I don't think this is worthy of
the applause gif.
I get it, and it’s somewhat funny. But not applause gif worthy.
And instead of listening to rap, I think it’s funnier to imagine Tyreke driving that fast and listening to:
A) Eat It
B) How much is that Doggy in the Window
C) 1812 Overture, or
D) Jesus Built My Hotrod

Eh?
I don’t have an anger problem. Hating on a player and blaming them for crap that isn’t their fault is way different than having an anger problem. Just like it is very different from not liking your fanpost.
Don’t get confused here. There is a big different from rationally not liking something and irrationally hating. Not everybody likes everything. You got to learn to live with that and grow a thicker skin. Better than taking cheap shots at somebody about stupid shit that isn’t true.

I guess it was the simple fact that you found it necessary to voice your disappoval not just once, not just twice, but three times. Haters gonna hate.

Thicken up the skin there SD. It really isn’t me hating on you. So don’t get all bent and take it personal.
