More Changes at KHTK: Rise Guys Move an Hour Later, Jim Rome's Slot Shrinks

I’m a Rome fan and I’ve never cared for the Rise Guys. I don’t like this at all.

I guess I’ll have to listen to the first hour of Rome on 1050.

Talk radio sucks in general…

but more local content in the middle of the day is good.

Um, no. Maybe they can lengthen Grant from 10am to 7pm?

By the way, Rome gets cut to pieces in Kansas City ALL THE TIME and as far as I know, he hasn’t mentioned it.

Come on Rome spends his first on on one subject anyways..All he does is keep repeating the same phrase about 50 times , then 10 commercials then repeats the next line 50 times..Don’t get me wrong i like the guys interviews and his takes, i just don’t need to hear him repeating the exact same thing 50 times

He sounds like a robot with a learning disability.
As if he reads from a teleprompter or something.

cover kings topics more than any other show and that includes Peaches and Mike Lamb. Rome is funny but i’ll take local talk all day over national. Don Geronimo is absolutely unbearable. KHTK is supposed to be for sports, not for annoying sound effects.

But I still find Rome to be a more entertaining show. He’s hilarious and good at what he does, hosting a show and conducting interviews with top athletes. I’m bummed by the news.

Which would mean there was a significant drop off in ratings starting at 9am, which I can’t begin to fathom even with the Rome hate. I can tolerate Rome, it’s his idiot callers I can’t stand.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a precursor to dropping Rome entirely since he’s not going to be pleased that they cut the first hour.

I’e said it before and I’ll say it again, more Stepehen A. Smith is never the right answer. Even at 5 am.

To be completely honest, I prefer Doctor Laura over that Douche Nugget.

Ever since he re-upped with Premier (in ‘06) instead of taking the Sirius/XM offer, Rome has been phoning it in, mostly reading text messages and “Tweets” from his methodical, dispassionate “clones” (“dittoheads”?) in between six-minute commercial breaks. Today’s show featured a segment in which Rome interviewed his call screener, plugging his side gig as a wedding DJ(!) and his Twitter page. And of course, Rome’s “interviews” — usually with college coaches as publicity-hungry are they are uninteresting — have always been just this side of listening to two guys test equipment.

Now, that having been said (to quote Mike Lamb), the Rise Guys are horrible, too. Hey fellas, I got an idea — MORE GOLF STORIES! But I’m sort of sentimentally attached to them because I can remember listening to them back when they broadcast from high atop the glistening Sclabangi buliding.
