Did he get his height right though?

This is a fair assessment.

I really like Omri and I think he can prove this ranking is a little low but to start the season, it is probably where he should be placed. Glad to see he’s on the board after the Beno omission. Come on KD, don’t do us wrong at the PF/C position!

I'm thinking the Kings will be represented at least 3 more times.

Maybe 4 if Dwyer thinks JT is somewhere in the Top 30 (I do). But Landry is in there for sure, probably somewhere in 10-20 range.

Then as for Centers, he’ll probably include DeMarcus Cousins, and Dalembert’s rebounding and shotblocking cannot be ignored.

I agree.

I would put Landry around14-16 and Thompson around 26-27. Cousins and Dalembert should both make the list but guessing on those two would be difficult.

How come is Grant Hill only ranked at 29

and is Dudley ranked higher than both Hill and Casspi?
No qualms with the others, but Dudley there surprises me.

Dudley is pretty damn good.

Wouldn’t mind him on the Kings.

Neither would I; his 3 pointy shooting and D would be welcome

I do think he’s a servicable player. Pretty damn good. A bit of a stretch.

But despite playing almost similar minutes, Omri was distinctly better in two main categories (scoring, rebounds) , while with exception of 3p%, Dudly is not that much better in other categories. And he’s already 4 years in the league.

Grant Hill has crazy-eyes

Darko Milicec passes just as well as Vlade Divac... Vlade would be the first to tell you that

I think he runs more of a risk of underrating Casspi in this slot.

I think it's fair, given only one season to cull data from.

I doubt the author would be surprised to find Casspi ranked higher in a year, any more than we would. But at this moment? Seems about right.

i'd definitely put omri(and several of the other forwards) ahead of marvin williams

a lottery pick that hasnt, or will never meet his potential. not to mention the injuries

by Harrisonyaka on Aug 21, 2010 9:37 AM PDT reply actions

And to think

Both the Blazers and Hawks could have drafted Chris Paul in that draft.

Paul went 4th -

The Blazers chose 6th. Bogut to the Bucks, Williams to the Hawks, Williams to the Jazz, Paul to the Hornets, Felton to the Bobcats, Webster to the Blazers.

a very interesting draft indeed

the Hawks draft the wrong Williams and then the calvacade of ho-hum: Villaneuva, Frye and Sean May to the Bobcats at 13, Kings have #23 chose Cisco Garcia with David Lee and Monta Ellis passed on by everyone. Of course, it is the number 8 pick that needs to be mentioned. It has been at least 6 weeks since his picture has been posted. I am getting withdrawals [cue Aykis16]

Any doubt that Cisco was top ten in that draft?

Or in the conversation at least?

Top 5 in that draft are all better than Cisco

Webster at 6 is iffy, Villanueva is probably better, Frye had a breakout year last year, Bynum, despite his injuries, is more valuable because of his youth and position, then we have to go down to Granger to find someone better (way better), Nate Rob and Jarrett Jack have produced more, then we have Lee and Ellis as great 2nd round picks, Brandon Bass hasn’t been given a real opportunity yet, Ilyasova is better, Lou Williams is better, Andray Blatche is better, Amir Johnson and Marcin Gortat are probably better, and Ryan Gomes is a maybe. Everyone else I’d say Cisco is better than.

I found it very interesting that

Gallinari was at #11. Really? 11?
That shows a huge gap between Gallinari and Casspi when I believe it is much closer than that. Just goes to show how much players in the NY market get hyped up. (Which is exactly why I don’t want another superteam with Melo-Amare-Paul in NY)

I would disagree

I think it goes to show how there is a huge talent drop off at the SF position somewhere in the top 10 and after that it is pretty much a crap shoot.

Because talent? You want to add a guy like boozer because hes talented? I’m sorry i just don’t see that as a valid reason. -- fffindeed

Yeah but still.

These are not rankings for the future, these are the best players right now. There is no way I would rate him over Ariza, Artest, Prince, or Butler at this point in his career. Put anyone of those players in NY last year and I guarantee they would put up better numbers than Danillo did.

Actually these are rankings and he seems to go back and forth about a players total value and what they will do next year

Why are we pretending this is like a peer reviewed article? It’s a stupid list of players he likes based on subjective opinion. That’s it. It’s summer and nothing is going on so why not make fun lists trying to pick who he likes the most in the league by position? Who cares?

I do agree Galinari seems to be rated too high

or Casspi too low.

IMO Galinari isn’t that much better than Casspi.
I’m also surprised to find Outlaw at #17.
What has he done to merit that position?
