Man, we had fun. It was a little odd when the folks running the Sports Complex asked me, "Is he with your group?" and my reply was, "Ummmm, I'm not really sure." [To the subject in question:] "Are you StR?"
But boy, what a great group of guys that showed up. Everyone played hard, clean ball - with none of the BS that usually goes with pickup games. I got some pics on my crappy camera,but I forgot my connector cord so I can't post them tonight - I will when I get back to San Antonio (probably on Thursday). SleepJones brought a camera too (and a video camera) - he said he'd post some stuff when he gets back to Marysville.
Speaking of SleepJones - gotta call you out for rolling up there in your Dubs gear, man. When GSoM puts on a pickup game, you better go roll up there in your Evans jersey. Then again, you better bring your backup for that game too.
That's all I got for tonight, folks. Gotta shower off, ice down the knees, and get my crap packed up for my flight back to TX tomorrow. It was awesome meeting all of you! (Even you, Pookey...)

Wow what a great game checkin out the pics now alot were blurry but I’ll put the best ones on here. Oh yeah my bad on the Dub’s jersey but it was the only one that had my name on it and it matched my shoes!!LOL. I’ll be in the right gear next time. Oh, yeah my boy Wade was a BEAST out there…HULK SMASH!!!

The easiest way would be to use photobucket or some online picture site that stores pictures for you.

It also helps that I was the tallest one out there, and I basically only play defense. Kinda lazy on the offensive side. SleepJones took all my shots tho. Note how he is simply watching as I play defense.
Good time though. We were all about the same skill level, and people didn’t get too irritated when I channeled my inner Peaches and yelled “OH BOY!!!!” and “IF YOU DON’T LIKE THAT YOU DON’T LIKE STR PICKUP BASKETBALL!!!!”

Truth is I'm not really surprised.
I didn’t really hate Tyreke as I didn’t think he was a natural fit with the team and felt that Geoff Petrie had made a mistake in Reke in terms of fit. But, Tyreke Evans also is very clearly the greatest likelihood, as a player, to help the Kings win a ring at some point. Taking risks is part of the deal.
I didn’t like Evans as much as I liked Brandon Jennings at draft time, but I’ve always been pretty happy (to very happy) about the Reke selection after draft day itself.

A lot of screens and cuts to the basket. Also some godd feeds to the paint to set out kick out passes. You guys know your basketball!

Just wanted to say that you all were a great group to play ball with. Friendly people, good attitudes, and some people even have a little game. I hope we can do this again sometime. In the meantime, I will be taking growth hormones and building myself some cyborg legs so I can dunk on you all the next time we meet.

I definitely need to show up for the next one.
I have to say, not nearly as many knee braces as I expected. Would there be room for the 5’10" SF who doesn’t really rebound very well? I say yes, but maybe that’s just my desire to get back on the court.
