If the Hawks don't offer him a new deal, which I don't think they can, or will; Crawford will ask for a trade. Can you think of anyone better to play alongside Evans than Crawford?

How is this not green?

Umm... I thought we were officially referring to Voison as the Chick Replacing Amick at the Paper? or CRAP, for short.

I think I like it...

interesting for sure. actually seems like the most reasonable and possible trade scenario that I have seen this off season. Seems like he could be acquired fairly cheaply as well. keeping an eye on this one…

Depends on the length of the extension -

Crawford is 30 years old. You are not going to want him in about 3 years. And he’s making $10 million this year, so I’m betting he’s looking for something much more substantial than a 3 year MLE.

He's a shooter....

30yrs old is young for a shooter. I remember everyone wanting a 35yr old Ray Allen.

Crawford- 18ppg, 38% 3pt
Allen- 16ppg, 36% 3pt

He wants Manu money

$39 million over three years. No thank you. I wouldn’t want him for $29 million over three years, and he would not be content playing for that much less than what he perceives to be his worth.

Pass.

Allen was appealing to some

because he was an expiring contract, not because anyone had designs on making him a long-term King.

He’s a sure upgrade over Beno & Cisco. Offensively & defensively, he can play the 1 or 2.

He's a surefire upgrade

until you consider what you will have to pay him. That’s what makes this a no-go for the Kings, in my opinion. Way too much money for this guy. Way, way, way too much money.

I think you forgot a few "ways" in your last statement.

What you meant to say was “way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way too much money.”

I'm not for or against

I will just add his contract should expire in time Cousins extension to kick in.

I love beating dead horses.

Not sure.

I’m still not convinced that he can continue his relatively good, efficient season last year next season and onwards. From history, Crawford is an inefficient player that happen to be a streaky shooter until last year. Why all of the sudden he can be a good player with good efficiency? I think it is fair to be skeptical here, I call it a fluke. Reminds me of the Mike James situation in Toronto years ago.

I don’t want to take the risk in Crawford. Sure, he may pan out but I don’t know.

Forget it

Just remember that Geoff Petrie has signed Beno Udrih and Francisco Garcia to play the 2 for the next three years. So you want to pick up a rookie with high potential who will be ready to emerge in 2-3 years, just as those other guys punch out.

"I know we certainly gave up a lot to get him, but we do have other players on the perimeter who we can plug in. We haven’t had anybody who we feel is a go-to guy in the post. So we gave up a lot to get a lot, and we’re real excited about adding Carl." - Paul Westphal

His coaches and teammates love him and he's supposed to be one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet

but other than that no, just no. Chucker who brings almost no d. Went off for 50 against the Knicks (?) a couple of years ago when he was with the dubs, no doubt he can put up the points when he’s on. He has fit in very well in ATL, far better than expected and at the point he was traded he seemed like an almost untradeable contract just because of the dollars.

I know we want a player to help ‘Reke with the scoring load (I say wait and see) but Jamal is not the type of player the Kings need. From an attitude standpoint, Jamal would be a perfect vet for the locker room. From a skill set and salary standpoint he’s just not a good fit for the Kings.

jamal crawford

wants too much money for what he’s worth. he shoots too much without thinking pass and he’s almost 31 years old. i think atlanta milked him for what he’s worth already, so they don’t want to sign an extension. he’s not even worth his last year of 10.5mil
